Black Label Society, formed in the late nineties by legendary guitar hero Zakk Wylde, have established themselves at the forefront of heavy metal with a series of hard riffing and hugely successful albums alongside worldwide tours that have cemented their reputation as one of the most powerful live bands of their generation. "Unblackened" finds Black Label Society in a mellower mood in a performance filmed at Club Nokia in Los Angeles earlier this year. The concert showcases the band's songs with a greater use of acoustic instruments but without losing any of their power and intensity. Zakk Wylde leads from the front as always, performing here on both guitar and piano and demonstrating the subtler side of his music alongside the blistering solos that his fans know and love. This is definitely a live concert not to be missed!

We all know about his guitar playing, but he really doesn't get enough credit for his vocals. He has a soulful and bluesy voice.
He also does a pretty convincing young Ozzy impression when he plays Sabbath songs.

Actually i've watched and interview with Ozzy and also with Zakk himself and they both say that that Zakk is not talented and there are many guitarists who are much more talented than him, but he puts A LOT of effort and work in becoming what he is now(considered a GOD to some).

This is the very reason Ozzy snatched this guy up when he was just a kid!
And I had NO idea until a few years ago that this guy was as phenomenal a singer and pianist as he is a guitarist. I only found out when I saw him on some tv awards show playing piano and singing a ballad. I was BLOWN AWAY.
