Completamente fora do sério. To be fair it all went down hill after he quit drinking; however he had to choose between dying or quitting drinking. I'd choose to lose my vocal chops over death myself (not that I can sing to save my life). And a side note, this song was originally released in 1996 - his vocals were vastly different then to what they are now. Early 90s Zakk without the beard had wicked vocal chops, now, not so much (personal opinion) - I agree - you're right he spent too long with Ozzy and it found its way into his own vocals but not in a good way (again personal opinion)... But even his guitar playing has changed too. Listen to the original solo, its much more melodic but still retains that epic shred with a whole bunch of cool chicken pickin' which I've noticed he doesn't really do ever anymore. It's more just mostly mindless noodling now. Don't get me wrong, sounds insane but people get old and peoples techniques change over the years. That all being said he's still pretty damn amazing and Zakk will always be one of the greatest guitarists to grace this Earth. I just miss Pride and Glory Zakk.
