    You really do have a nice place there. I’m always amazed at how accommodations vary across cultures. You have a knack for narrating like your mom! Thanks for sharing! Very interesting!

    hey mate just found your channel like a week ago and binged thru the videos
    Really enjoy your style and nice to see some japan videos that are just kind of throw back slice of life genre instead of the "tourism" type videos everyone makes these days

      Hey thanks! I'm so happy I can offer a different perspective on Japan, it really is a different place when you live and work here. The tourist stuff is neat, but often overhyped. Good to know I found a proper niche :)

    That house is HUGE, and the rent is TINY. You struck lucky. You could easily have 5 or more friends visit you.

      Oh yes! I’m appreciating all that space! 😁

    Wow! Excellent video as usual. Your house is very spacious for the price, is this due to the remoteness of it? I love how you have the special collection of meaningful and memorable items/gifts. Did you get any say in the house or was it organised for you through JET? Stay safe and prosper 🙏

      Yes! I live in the countryside, so my place is cheap, living in the city you can expect rent to be much more expensive. This house was organized not by JET, but by my contracting organization, they also furnished it a little for me! They are very kind. Sometimes JETs will need to find their own living accomodations, which is tricky, but I think for the most part the local government you work for will take care of you.
      Ah thank you! I'm proud of my treasure wall! Take care :D

    Love your treasure wall and the cheery snowman on the fridge. Your living area is very comfortable. I am wondering what the Japanese says on your wall. Enjoy your “White House”.

      Thank you! The Japanese word on my wall is ganbare, it means 'fight' or 'don't give up'

      I sure did! I’m super thankful, I think most JETs live in small apartments, especially in the city.

      @theboldbasan3802 ya , they do lol. I applied and I put give me anything. I'm hoping to get something decent that still has people without the need for a car.

    Your video popped up on my youtube suggestions (probably because I've been looking at vids on japanese houses because they are so amazingly cheap compared to insane Aussie prices), I'm glad they also supplied an ice rink for you to make you feel more at home, have you started up a hockey tream yet? (Jk...)

    • @theboldbasan3802
      @theboldbasan3802  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yup, Japanese hospitality knows know limits. Supplied a whole ice rink and a hockey league to boot. 😜 They forgot poutine but that’s probably forgivable.
      Glad you encountered my videos and that the algorithm is sharing me around! 😎 Please enjoy!

    Wow! You have one of the largest Japanese apts I have ever seen! It's wonderful! How do you get it for only 100.00? Have a wonderful week! What is the Jet Programme?

    • @theboldbasan3802
      @theboldbasan3802  ปีที่แล้ว

      Old homes in the Japanese countryside are incredibly cheap, so much more affordable than anything in the big cities. My house belongs to the local government, they rent it to me cheaply because I work for them.
      The JET Programme is the Japanese Exchange and Teaching Programme. On JET, People worldwide are invited to live and work in Japan and work as teaching assistants. It's a cool job!
