After all the patches, we still don't have 1/2 floors that match full floors. Frustrating! Thank you as always for what you do! I've learned so much!!! ❤
There's soooo many little building things that SURELY can't be hard to do, but would massively improve our building options and reduce frustration. Bloody ARK:SE has a more comprehensive range of building options, for God's sake, and I thought THEY were bad until I came to fo76. 🤣
Every game I've built in. Has better mechanics and more flexible building systems. Not to mention triangle or wedge pieces. They really need to do a pass through an revamp building in this game.
I sort of get around it by using one of the offset staircases with the steel structure around it (no idea how else to describe it, sorry!) and then putting walls around it on both storeys so it clearly becomes a hallway/staircase/landing that leads to other, distinct rooms, and doesn't clash with the looks of the rest of the house. It'd be nice not to do that, though. No idea why Bethesda made it this way when it's perfectly possible in FO4.
At 7.45 I tell you remove the extra stairs you used to create the half offset. Make sure you are removing the correct stair case, and make sure your foundations aren't too high.
is there an updated way of doing the offset? i could definitely be doing something wrong though lol. i dont have any catwalks, so im doing the other method. i place the foundation snug against the ground, place the initial set of stairs, and place the half upper flooring. when i try to place down the second set of stairs however, im unable to. i get a prompt that "stairways must have a connection at the top or bottom", and despite the fact that the workshop UI is highlighted green (as if i could place the stairs in the first place), theres a bit of a horizontal gap between the upper flooring and the second set of stairs im trying to attach to it. seems like it may not work anymore? any input is really appreciated!
i would like to add, in case it matters, that the visible gap doesnt actually take up an entire second half-flooring of space, but still makes it so that im unable to actually attach the second set of stairs to the upper flooring. bummer if this really isnt a viable glitch anymore 😔
It seems to be broken. I think this is a bug because you can't attach anything to a half upper floor including another floor. I'll report it to Bethesda as I've got a load of stuff stuck that I can't delete lol
After 10 years (sarcasmign) they havent bring back the catwalks at all but they stillr elease bullshit stuff like next atom shop list. And they could just add snap points to floor and ceilings to place on sides stairs instead nope.

That is going to be so helpful in my next build, thank you so much!
Perfect video, thank you so much!
Excellent video 😊
I really wish we could put stairs to the sides of floor pieces, instead of centered...
Yes I agree

I'm trying but when I try to scrap the stairs as instructed at 7:32 it keeps saying "part of the structure wouldn't be accessible" is there a fix?

7:32 It just won't scrap the stairs at all for me. No matter what I try...
