      @georgmar83 4 ปีที่แล้ว +27

      Will Murkette man all these people are just kids that were given money to have fun. Totally irresponsible, but then again so are the government agencies that approve loans that they know have no chance of ever being paid back.

      Not only is it unrealistic, it's also reprehensible. She makes 145K yet she wants the people that didn't saddle themselves with thousands in student loans (and thus didn't get a college education) to pay for it. Not only no, but hell no.

    • @analyhernandez4607

    • @judgementgaming3270
      @judgementgaming3270 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@analyhernandez4607 to be fair, like Graham said, as long as the interest rate on the loan is less than 4%, don't pay it off right away. I say this because you can probably take the excess money you would have used to pay it off, invest in stocks, etc, and make more than 4% in the long run, thus profiting the difference.

      Inconsistency works best if you are accustomed to strong emotions. Graham, this is unrelated to this video, but I watched a car video you did where you explained (with graphs) the best point in a car’s lifespan to buy it and maximize on the benefits of the car, and lose the least amount of money on the purchase. I showed it to my husband, because we were looking to buy a car . We very nearly purchased a two year old car from a dealership, but after watching your videos we waited. And waited. And waited for the right car to come along . Now , we probably have the BEST car we’ve ever bought , and got it for a great price from a private seller. We saved a minimum of $3’000 in dealer fees and probably a maximum of $8’000 if we had purchased the two year old car instead. Thanks so much for your tips and the effort you put into your videos!

    They should really include taxes as part of spending but that would bring to mind how much of our money is wasted by the government.

  • @keinlieb3818
    @keinlieb3818 4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    People like her are exactly why I hope that the government never does student loan forgiveness. She's making well over $100k a year and thinks she's entitled to have her student loans wiped out. Especially when I know people who make $40k a year and have paid off their student loans.

    • @truly988
      @truly988 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      As one of those people, I completely agree. Went from $50k loan debt at graduation to fully paid off in three years, I was making $40k/year. Lived with my parents and spent well below my means, but I never asked the gov't for help. It truly sickens me and it's people like this that give Republicans valid reasons to deny all bills related to student loan relief. While there are people making minimum wage with $100k student debt who truly need the relief, there are thousands of people just like this girl that can pay it off easily, but are waiting for the gov't to wipe out the debt. I blame these people for why student debt relief bills never get passed.

    • @keinlieb3818
      @keinlieb3818 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@truly988 the good news, if you're making minimum wage your student loan payment is only like $5. You'll never pay it off that way, but at least they aren't forcing you to starve. I had student loan debt at one point and lost a job and the only one I found was a minimum wage job and called them up and told them my circumstances had changed and they lowered my monthly payments of $225 down to only $5 until I could get a good job again. The only way I believe in student loan forgiveness is if you've become disabled to the point where you can no longer work.

    To be fair Graham, people in the medical field have student loan forgiveness all the time. For nurses, they can have loan forgiveness if they work a certain amount of time in a rural area(8 to 10 years, i think it was for my mom).
    I'm looking into a job that's willing to train me to become a Certified Medical Assistant if I work there for a year, essentially for free.

    I said the same thing about her student loan debt. It's delusional thinking that someone is going to walk in a save you from your mistake of deciding that college was a investment good idea. She's making FAR more based on one skill alone that doesn't require school and that's sales. It's not for everyone and if she were serious, I'm willing to bet she could do $200k a year and completely obliterate her bad debt in a matter of weeks.
