AWESOME! JUST AWESOME!! This make me go back to 2000 or 2001. Classic power metal with a powerful voice in front. Great musicians, great sound, HAIL KAMELOT!
I dunno why, but roy khan will be the best in kamelot's history ever. I can't feel the emotion like I fell when i listen to the songs with roy. not only me, but several producers says roy khan has a mysterious life(or death) in his voice. while kamelot is one of the best band when we discuss about melody/instrumental so good enought to cause feelings, I can see that only with roy's vocal and presence. but, i have to say: tommy's vocal in angel of afterlife studio version is really very good!
I was one of those guys who thought Kamelot wouldn't be able to keep my interest without Khan. Although, in the back of my mind I always knew that this was a chance to go back to their roots and do the more grandiose epic metal stuff. This song is really good (recording quality isn't half bad). I am really excited for the new Kamelot and excited to have the high soaring type vocals back. Thank you Kamelot for choosing Tommy as your singer.
The guy had me on the first verse of a live version of Eden Echo that I dug up to see how he sounded. This makes me want the CD now. Can't wait to see them in Rocktober with Nightwish!
I am soooo impressed...Khan was GOD...but this guy....I am totally in love with his voice (since Seveth Wonder) and I could have never imagined how well he can sing Kamelot songs...Sorry Roy, I still admire you, but Kamelot still ROCKS without you!!! \m/
I can't wait to actually hear him live/professionally recorded with Kamelot. He really reminds me of Khan, this video I think doesn't quite do him justice (although the quality is pretty high considering)
I watched Kamelot live last night! Tommy is at least as good as Roy! The show left me speechless, and they played again this new song, this time with Linnea Vikstrom. It sounds very promising for the album.
I love Poetry for the Poisoned hehe that album made me love Kamelot still I understand your point. It's not easy to accept some changes when you knew a band playing a certain style of music and you learn to love them for that and suddenly they start playing a different one.
Sing for me, Angel of Afterlife, calming me down, Chaos inside my nebula, You made the wrong turn to right, in a celestial light, forgive my Sacrimony...
He's no Khan, but then again I don't expect anyone to top Khan, but.... I'm VERY pleased, because Tommy Karevik so far sounds very good! He's the closest thing to Khan, just what I was hoping for :) Yay Kamelot!!! \o/
he ain't Kahn and there will never be another one, but I sincerely doubt Thomas could've picked anyone better. this song is damn amazing and I can't wait to see them in Philly is September.
Kamelot are certainly not the best musicians in the world but what they are is brilliant song-writers, which in power metal, that is what counts and Kamelot in my opinion, are some of the best song-writers in the metal scene.. They are still good musicians and they play like bards..
@reignofsirius That's Elize Ryd, one of the singers from Amaranthe. You can't really hear her for some reason but trust me she has a very good voice :-)
@Tiolnu : If I remember some interviews, the band announced a "back to the basics" :) a return to some more "pure old Kamelot style" Let's see what the next release will give to us :) and (for me) Tommy Karevik is the best choice for this style of music :D
I do understand your feeling. I love Roy Khan so much so it will be hard to accept Kamelot without him but anyways the guys don't have to stop just because Roy left. I'll give'em a chance just to see what the new album is like (of course I'll buy a copy) and if I don't like it, well I still got their stuff with Roy.
He is good but Roy was unique....i like the new song and i will continue listen to kamelot cause the style remained the same that is good for all fans and band ofc!BUT ROY COME BACK :)
........*sigh*....so they've already started their concerts with Karevik I see.......... I'm a huge fan of Kamelot and the one I love is Roy Khan. I just haven't been able to accept Karevik as the new vocalist yet. His performances with Seventh Wonder were great but with Kamelot..........I just can't imagine Kamelot with a vocalist other than Roy.
Everyone loves Tommy cause He sounds exactly the same as Khan, good choice though, they´re giving the people what they want, let´s hope he has some writing skills too.
Yeah, Tommy is not bad at all. Khan is hard to top but to be fair even he was having difficulty hitting certain notes before he left. It's kind of like strwaberry and chocolate ice cream: I love both flavors and they are both different but awesome.
Wow really can't wait.sounding amazing although whoever was doing guest female vocals at this show at the end of the song is shocking so flat it sounds awful.maybe was just a bad day
Yes,too similar to"Moonlight"in the first verses! My identical impression(not a good impression).Tommy has some problem in the low notes. His voice is different, not a full bass-baritone like Roy.In my opinion is more adapted to the Seventh Wonder stuff(more high notes).
mmm... i really liked the direction they were going in with PtfP. This song doesn't bring anything new. We already have Epica and the Black Halo. Still this band is amazing and they'll always be awesome
I liked it, but I didn't love it... Hunter's Season, Poetry for the Poisoned, and the Great Pandemonium were good, but the rest just didn't sound like Kamelot. Great album, but probably their worst in my opinion.
Sounds awesome! Love yout choice Thomas! But I´ve loved Tommy at SW, so I wasn´t surprised that he´ll be awesome with Kamelot!
Congratulations Youngblood for choice a great singer! Kamelot forever!
I love this new song so much! Best wishes to Kamelot!
Oh my gods... I cannot believe this. Tommy sang like a god on the Seventh Wonder albums and now this. Welcome the new era of Kamelot!!!!!!!
OMG !!! kamelot work with more doublebass and speed since the last 2 albums !! I am very impressed , it sounds so melodic :)
Ok I never thought I would say this after Khan left, but I still wanna see Kamelot live now! Long Live Kamelot!!!
AWESOME! JUST AWESOME!!
This make me go back to 2000 or 2001. Classic power metal with a powerful voice in front. Great musicians, great sound, HAIL KAMELOT!
SO excited for the new album... this is mindblowing. Tommy sounds amazing and Elize Ryd just makes it perfect.

Thank you Kamelot for choosing Tommy as your singer.
Beautiful song, great vocals, cant wait for the album
I agree, Amaranthe is one of my favorite bands and it's really nice to finally see her featured on a Kamelot album.
Sounds so good! Can't wait for the new album!!!
Tommy does a great job, don't forget it's a big step from playing local clubs to the biggest festivals around.
I love this song and Tommy is very very great :-)
Okay I have to stop listening to this now...... Ahhhh!! Replay button.... is right there....
Wow, this is perfection.
He is brilliant!!! I will always respect Roy Khan but, this guy can sing! I'm so happy right now!
OMG awesome, just awesome!
The guy had me on the first verse of a live version of Eden Echo that I dug up to see how he sounded. This makes me want the CD now. Can't wait to see them in Rocktober with Nightwish!
This is beyond awesome!!!
This new song is called Sacrimony, posted in Kamelot Gernamy facebook page
I am soooo impressed...Khan was GOD...but this guy....I am totally in love with his voice (since Seveth Wonder) and I could have never imagined how well he can sing Kamelot songs...Sorry Roy, I still admire you, but Kamelot still ROCKS without you!!! \m/
OUTSTANDING!!!!
Go Kamelot!! and Go Tommy!!
Seventh wonder - unbreakable search for it....you won't be dissapointed.
I can't wait to actually hear him live/professionally recorded with Kamelot. He really reminds me of Khan, this video I think doesn't quite do him justice (although the quality is pretty high considering)
Everything sounds good and promising
Ok, thanks. Her voice is awsome. :)
I don't know how they found this guy, but he is so good, i thought no one could replace kahn but this guy is amazing.
I watched Kamelot live last night! Tommy is at least as good as Roy! The show left me speechless, and they played again this new song, this time with Linnea Vikstrom. It sounds very promising for the album.
I liked Tommy's voice from SW but I didn't expect he would sound so amazingly good live
I love Poetry for the Poisoned hehe that album made me love Kamelot still I understand your point. It's not easy to accept some changes when you knew a band playing a certain style of music and you learn to love them for that and suddenly they start playing a different one.
Sing for me, Angel of Afterlife, calming me down,

Tommy kicks asses!!!!!
he ain't Kahn and there will never be another one, but I sincerely doubt Thomas could've picked anyone better. this song is damn amazing and I can't wait to see them in Philly is September.
I totally agree with you :))

King Karevik !

In the last albums"Ghost Opera"&"Poetry..."Roy is a full bass-baritone!
I can't f*cking wait till November to see them Live in Wienna...
Tommy Karevik IS THE SHIT MAN!!!! \m/
The song is called Sacrimony, by the way.
Single coming on september 4th!
Sacrimony ( Angel Of Afterlife )
Bye Bye Beautiful, Amaranth, Storytime, I Want My Tears Back, Scaretale and Last Ride of the Day ^^

iPhone 4 gave you that kinda sound?! Wow! XD
is Elize Ryd (Amaranthe)
He is good but Roy was unique....i like the new song and i will continue listen to kamelot cause the style remained the same that is good for all fans and band ofc!BUT ROY COME BACK :)
oh really i wouldnt have thought that.i love her voice normally she's ace in Amaranthe but i suppose everyone has off days.
........*sigh*....so they've already started their concerts with Karevik I see..........
I'm a huge fan of Kamelot and the one I love is Roy Khan. I just haven't been able to accept Karevik as the new vocalist yet. His performances with Seventh Wonder were great but with Kamelot..........I just can't imagine Kamelot with a vocalist other than Roy.
Apparently KMI entertainment claims copyright issues to all the videos... I wonder this video is still on..
yeah, I realized few days ago :P
Everyone loves Tommy cause He sounds exactly the same as Khan, good choice though, they´re giving the people what they want, let´s hope he has some writing skills too.
I guess you are not familiar with his other band Seventh Wonder? Because if you were you would know what an amazing songwriter he is...
Yeah, Tommy is not bad at all. Khan is hard to top but to be fair even he was having difficulty hitting certain notes before he left. It's kind of like strwaberry and chocolate ice cream: I love both flavors and they are both different but awesome.
Is it just me or does Sacrimony sound like Moonlight? Karevik's no Khan, but I like it and I'm sure I'm gonna like the studio version more.
Anyone knows who's the chorist at the end, please?
Dude what did you film that on?!
well, IMO poetry is one of their most original albums. it doesn't sound like anything they did before
He's no Khan, but still a cut above most male vocalists in this genre.
Is that Simone or the chick from Amaranthe near the end of the song?
@SongOnLyrics Sacrimony :-)
SACRIMONY !!
=)
Elize Ryd from Amaranthe
:DDD
Wow really can't wait.sounding amazing although whoever was doing guest female vocals at this show at the end of the song is shocking so flat it sounds awful.maybe was just a bad day
We're on the Internet; You solicit opinions every time you type a comment/reply/post/etc :P
It's Elize Ryd from Amaranthe... and yeah, definitely not her best day
Someone better to replace Khan I they they couldn't have gotten, great great GREAT voice!!!
The band is to much to just let die because Khan left. And Karevik is doing great :)
Iphone 4
I'm sure the new album will be more of the same, NONE NO BETTER THAN THE POETRY FOR THE POISONED!!!!!!!!!!!!!
}
Not bad
You should also take into account that the quality of this video is very bad. In real it sounds 1000x better.
what?
IMO, he tries to sound like Roy. I hope he gains more confidence and starts performing like Tommy, not like Khan. He's got his own beautiful voice.
Looks more like calculator.
Personally, I really didn't like poetry for the poisoned. It's just not what I listen to Kamelot for, if that makes sense.
I liked it, but I didn't love it... Hunter's Season, Poetry for the Poisoned, and the Great Pandemonium were good, but the rest just didn't sound like Kamelot. Great album, but probably their worst in my opinion.
why does this clapping together shit link to cryptopsy
>iPhones are overpriced pieces of rubbish
>Video taken with iphone better quality than $600 video cam
Lulz.
Sounds like some generic Power Metal ... the dude has no charisma in his voice. So sad.
I'll give the album a chance anyway.
PftP sounded tired, uninspired, confused and bored with itself. Very bad album aside from one or two decent tracks.
