That's my favorite too, as well as the first one I heard. I keep falling in love with all of their music, though. I'm drooling thinking about the new album.
He can hold his own, that's for sure. There's no doubt that we'll all miss Khan, but this guy will serve us all well as part of Kamelot. I'm looking forward to it!
I am going to see Kamelot live on Oct 3rd for my first time ever. I had tickets before when Roy Khan was the lead singer for the Poetry for the Poisoned tour in North American but that is when they cancelled the tour and Roy Khan was reported sick and flew back to Norway. Tommy is gonna fit in really well i think. Cant wait to see them live this year.
Tommy's doing a stellar job. Roy was Roy, and I will always love his voice and his singing, but Tommy was the best replacement they could possibly have got. He understands the requirements of the music and can put in the required emotion, and he has the range to pull off the songs. I wish Roy all the best with his future endeavours, and Tommy all the best with Kam and Seventh Wonder! :)
Lets be clear and honest now, Roy had a lot of vocal issues on his last years with Kamelot, he didn't deliver as good vocals performances like he used to, it was those performances which made us love him so much. Tommy is young and brings Kamelot new fresh vocals which I think will serve them better in the long run.
it is not just about sounding like roy or not, it is about will he be able to make great songs like khan did with kamelot. i hope he does. excited for the new album!
When I saw Fabio in SF he did really well. He sounded very good and stayed true to the music. But this guy seems pretty good as well. I hope they release some sort of good sound quality video or track so that I can hear a good version of him singing a Kam song.
Dude you crazy as hell if you saying hes a better singer Kahn is a great singer and definitly one of the greatest singers ever.He always hits high notes.
I had the same feeling when I saw Fabio on stage. I guess the problem is that we all compare too much and look for familiar things. Just wait until he settles in completely and he gets the chance to develop his own thing with the old songs. :)
Btw, Tarja/Anette was a personal issue mater, which resulted in the band members hanging out the singer in the media for world to hate her. That is not even comparable to the Kamelot subject which I think has been handled very smoothley.
Well, that's exactly what you get with Tommy. Check out his band Seventh Wonder, there you can here that he has a wonderful style of his own. Maybe he will try to honor the old songs to sing them in the old style - but the new songs surely will be all Tommy.
I think he's trying to give the audience the same song they're familiar with, the one Roy sang. I know he has a different style, and I like it, but the fact that he can also change it is a rare talent.
The quality of the video made it a little difficult to hear, but I think Tommy did a great job. Roy Khan will always be number one in my mind, but I can agree with many others that Tommy will do Kamelot justice. :)
I had often thought that Kamelot (as much as I love them ) should just write another chapter. Kind of how Mark Tremonti did with Creed and brought on Alter Bridge. It will never be the same band without Khan. Just as Van Halen wasn't the same with Sammy Hagar and I always have a love and respect for Sammy. The music was good but it was Van Hagar not Van Halen. Still we want to hear the old songs. So I will look forward to seeing them live with Tommy and see how it feels.
Of course his voice doesn't soudn as poppy as in SW - Kamelot play a very different style and he adapts beautifully. :) I saw SW live twice now and he has a KILLER live voice! Do not judge voices by TH-cam videos - they seldom do the real thing justice.
Really people? Are we really gonna start fighting tooth and nail about who's better - Tommy or Roy? Why do we have to bash our heads just like we did with Tarja and Anette in Nightwish? Celebrate the old and rejoice in the new.
Roy had a burn out, and the last year before that you could clearly see on his live performances that something was bothering him. He was a dedicated singer and appreciated the fans, I am not saying he didn't. But to say that he was the worlds greatest singer and not replacable is just not true. Watch "Kamelot (Live in Wacken 2008 FULL) and see it for yourself, the notes are weaker, he his out of key several times, he had a burn out and the band needed a new vocalist.
or maybe he needed a break, supportive friends and band members, from the interviews that he gave recently if you read between the lines you can see that they were starting to fall apart as band as well.
no where near the amount of stage presence Kahn has. And although I wasn't a huge fan of Fabio with Kamelot, He sounded much better live. Far more explosive and skilled the this guy. We fans will give it some time though.
Okay, I guess I know what you mean. ;) By the way - do you know Paris version? It's on youtube, but not attached to his name. Just search for "Eden Echo Paris 2011". I think that's my favorite version sung by him.
Khan's performance in Wacken 2008 wasn't that great, you're totally right, but that's because he was ill that day. Listen to his performance in Wacken 2010, he is better there, although not as incredibly awesome as he was on One Cold Winter's Night.
@@IsakAidee it happend cos all that period was the bottom of every bottom, which lead him to leaving Kamelot, on Wacken live he had loads of insomnias and he was really tired, that day someone gave him a bottle of whisky which he ended up drinking i think all before concert which lead to the awful live, that was his decision. In his new interview with conception he says even more. But basically Oliver kinda hates him for what he did
Well Kamelot DID replace Roy Khan, and they made a GREAT choice. Pretty sure this video's lack of stellar sound quality is leaving you biased. But he's hitting the notes, and hitting them well. He has the look, the voice and most of all the presence that was needed to replace Roy. We will ALL miss Roy, but a band has to move on, and that' what Kamelot have done, and I tip my hat to them for it.
I've seen some other videos of him. Decent Vocalist. Not really much Appeal to his voice. Not like Roy. He sounds a bit too similar to other European Vocalists, especially with his Highs. A bit of a Showboater as well. We'll see how it goes.
Khan can never be replaced in my ears. But I will reserve judgment on this guy till I hear the new cd (or a video with better sound quality) because it's hard for me to tell now. I hope to Odin this guy is worthy... Khan leaving is the worst news I've heard in metal since Matt Barlow leaving Iced Earth... both times.
oh come on. don't turn this into tarja vs anette issue. Khan is da fucking man and he's the best and made Kamelot the best. you don't have to shit on previous vocalist to make new one look better.
That's my favorite too, as well as the first one I heard. I keep falling in love with all of their music, though. I'm drooling thinking about the new album.
Such a great song with such a great a voice
He can hold his own, that's for sure. There's no doubt that we'll all miss Khan, but this guy will serve us all well as part of Kamelot. I'm looking forward to it!
He is talented!! Great man!
Tommy is making a great job. It is sad what happened with Roy but the show must go on. I hope some day he return.
perfect! So glad he's the new singer!
Long life with good health to Kamelot!!!
I am going to see Kamelot live on Oct 3rd for my first time ever. Roy forever!!!!
Well said.
This guy is awesome!!! can't wait for the new record! can't wait to see them in september with Nightwish :D
Good news. He's in Kamelot. :)
Tommy Karevik (Seventh Wonder)
And thanks so much for uploading. Great quality! Tommy rocks!
Couldn't have found a better replacement. Tommy really does justice to Roy's legacy.
Exactly!!
Lets be clear and honest now, Roy had a lot of vocal issues on his last years with Kamelot, he didn't deliver as good vocals performances like he used to, it was those performances which made us love him so much. finally someone whitout more brain and less fanaticism
I had the same feeling when I saw Fabio on stage. I guess the problem is that we all compare too much and look for familiar things. Just wait until he settles in completely and he gets the chance to develop his own thing with the old songs. :)

La voz de Khan es irreemplazable, sin embargo este nuevo vocalista no lo hace nada mal
Que bien por kamelot :)
Sounds very similar to Roy. Great choice Kamelot!
I think he's trying to give the audience the same song they're familiar with, the one Roy sang. I know he has a different style, and I like it, but the fact that he can also change it is a rare talent.

I like him. will always love Kahn, but I like the new singer :)
i fucking miss roy. I didnt travel to Montreal for the concert because i heard he was no longer singing for them.
Not with fire in his hair this time!! LOL
Karevik kicks ass...
Tommy has a beard! He looks good!
I think I'll accept him as the new singer :D. Of course, Roy will always be the number one in my heart but I could make a little room for this guy lol
@Soleman1989
I would agree, except I don't want him to stop Seventh Wonder. He would have to choose one or the other.
He is officially the new singer!!! happy? lol
I had often thought that Kamelot (as much as I love them ) should just write another chapter. Kind of how Mark Tremonti did with Creed and brought on Alter Bridge.

a little appreciation for what he have done. just saying
This is how you replace a lead singer. Roy will be missed, but Kamelot couldn't have done much better in filling his shoes.
Roy khan
Really people? Are we really gonna start fighting tooth and nail about who's better - Tommy or Roy? Why do we have to bash our heads just like we did with Tarja and Anette in Nightwish? Celebrate the old and rejoice in the new.
He almost sounds like khan
call me deaf, but I believe he sounds quite a lot like Roy... o.O
call me stupid but no one can sound like ROY my friend :D
Roy had a burn out, and the last year before that you could clearly see on his live performances that something was bothering him. He was a dedicated singer and appreciated the fans, I am not saying he didn't. But to say that he was the worlds greatest singer and not replacable is just not true.

Nils Patrik Johansson is the right man.
What happened to Khan? D:
Tommy is really good, and i'm happy with Kamelot for this, but, i dont want a clon of the voice of god, i want a really singer, with a own style.
Roy is awesome... but rlly? not going to a concert even though the new singer is a really good replacement...

lol weak headbanging xD
Complete mental and physical breakdown. He`s in no condition to sing.
