I've never heard him singing like that before. Seriously. I've watched so many live perfomances of him, but he's so freaking good here. Damn. So glad he still sings. SO glad.
@DarthBleh OF COURSE WE ENJOYED IT!! We were all in tears, and like jiggasen says- everyone clapped afterwards! Roy is a very dear friend of many of us at the wedding, including the groom. The reason why he sang this song, is beacuse this is the first song the bride ever heard of Kamelot and she ended up a BIG fan of the band. That made her come to Oslo to see them in concert, and that's where the bride and groom met :-) Lovestory!
Roy Khan does not matter why, no matter where, just say, you follow whatever your time, and as he told misskitty48 see you sing, even at weddings and see you smiling and healthy, it is worth much . Forever with you! Always!
unbelievable...THAT MAN CAN'T STOP SINGING! that would tear up my heart. Say greetings to him, all the fans are with him, whatever he decides, family first and so on...but his singing is like a cure to our shattered souls. Greets from Slovakia
Thanks for letting me be a part of this! Thanks to both Roy and Kjell Åge, and of course to Brit and Frode. A wedding to remember, and a moment to cherish. Always. May happiness follow all of you...
Not to mention Khan singing emphatically in Conception's 'My Decision" in1993 -- I leave belief to believers Those who indulge in words Let my dreams unfurl leave my pure desire I HAVE NO GOD TO RELY ON 'cause I am all I need compared to a life in submission I do prefer my sins I seek, may find, may change I feel no guilt No confession will ever reach my lips Let my dreams unfurl leave my pure desire" Songs like that made me an teenager Atheist and it was the best decision of my life
Thanks for share this,is trully important for Kamelot, and Roy fans, see this amazing singer, singing again. i really wish Khan Get better soon, on Kamelot or not, his return gonna be awesome. All the best for all! peace.
I cried when I saw this video, I'm glad he'll still be singing and more singing for God, Thanks for uploading this video, I'm happier!!! I love you Roy!!!!
LO MAS ALEGRE DEL VIDEO ES QUE AUN ESTA CANTANDO Y LO MAS TRISTE DE TODO ESTO ES NO HABER VISTO A ROY EN SUDAMERICA LO ESPERABAMOS ..... QUITO ECUADOR FELICITACIONES POR LA BODA
@DarthBleh No, they absolutelly did! but this is not a gig, it's a wedding, in a church... not a concert. So people is showing respect for the place, but at the end they clapped, something very uncommon (usually you clap the wedding couple when they leave the church...)
This is simply FABULOUS!!! Thank you so much for sharing. We all get to see Roy again and hear his wonderful voice :o) Love you Roy to Death and beyond !! xxxxxxx
I'm so so happy to see he's still singing. I was just smiling through this whole video because it felt like seeing an old friend after he's gone away for a year. I'm still sad he left the band but as long as he's happy and healthy then that's all I care about. Keep at it, Roy. Your fans are behind you 100% and if all you'll be doing now is singing at weddings, then you can bet your handsome behind I'll be watching the videos.
Congratulations to the newly married couple! Everyone there looks like they enjoyed the wedding. Thank you @jiggasen so much for filming this, and I wish you, the happy couple, and everyone there the best. Roy Khan really seems to have touched many hearts. I can't judge what he's done, or even attempt to since I don't know the man. If this is the last time I hear his voice, I think it's fine because I think he continues to share it, if only with his close friends.
WOW. that's all I can say. He's a king... I hope to hear more from him soon. It was heartbreaking when he left Kamelot, so he have to continue doing what he does best - singing.
He already gave us years of incredibly awesome music. It's time for him to focus on his own life. It's not about religion itself; it's about each one's heart and feelings. We should be him to completely understand why he did what he did. Anyways, it's a pleasure to hear his voice again. Congratulations to the Bride. Hugs from Colombia.
At the 4th or 5th page of the comments, there's a response in norwegian which says the following ¨Thank you for your kind response :-) As a bride in the video, I can confirm that it was an amazing experience to hear the song that in many ways brought me and my husband together;-)¨ So, Norwegian are awesome even when they are wedding! I´m not sure Roy is coming back.. But I certainly hope to see him on stage at least once..
Great performance. I wish to see Roy Khan in a band in the future. But, like RachekBaby19 says... The more important is than Roy looks very well and healthy.
I am an atheist and I dislike religion's oppression and false promises , but I could not possibly dislike this. Amazing performance by Roy, he is a class of his own. 'The Fourth Legacy' has stigmatise me back in 2003, and songs like this are purely phenomenal. I don't really understand Roy's new decision since for example in the notes of the song 'The Inquisitor' from the same album, he says "Fear of things invisible is the natural seed of that which everyone in himself calleth religion".
i've cried watching this. I'm so glad you're alright! So sad you're not in kamelot anymore, but I'll be with you always! Your voice it is a gift, don't forget that!
I'm so lucky I saw Kamelot with Khan in London on 28-03-2010. After the show I had a brief talk with him about reuniting Conception but he denied any possibility, unfortunately.
Khan is entitled to believe in whatever he wants; in this case, God. And while I find myself saddened by his departure, I realize that my own selfish interests are meaningless and pale in comparison to the deeply personal and important decision he made to pursue feeding his soul vs. feeding, or perhaps misleading others. Like Khan said in one of his last interviews in Germany: "Stay true to yourselves." That he has done and he must be honored for that, plain and simple.
@lillepugsy - Wishing you and your husband many, many years of happiness. It is true...that God has given Roy a stunning voice. It is contrasted so beautifully by his humility. I have not had the honor of meeting him as I had hoped, but it is well enough for me to know he still has his pipes, passion, and principles. For, it is he himself who said, "Stay true to yourself". And that he has done; quite well I must admit. All the best, again, to you and your husband. :)
Roy left because of health reasons he made this decision on his own and I bet he's happier this way. I was very disappointed to hear that he left but I understood and supported him
This is new? He's still singing? Oh my god, after seeing that, I have a bit more hope of seeing him return to active. It may not be with Kamelot, but maybe with a solo carrer or a new band. Favorited, brilliant performance and congratulations for having him singing on your wedding.
@DarthBleh O yes, i think they did. As a matter of fact, this is the first time i've heard claping in a church. But the recording was cut of before that.
@FutileGrief Not sure I understand your question- bu the bride and groom is a given :-) Us two girls are the maid of honor and me (the girl in the light beige dress) I'm actually the groom's "best man" ;-) We are best friends, so I was lucky enough to have the honor :-) the guitarist is also my boyfriend ;-)
I hope the couple, as well as everyone else, realized what an HONOR this was... And I, too, feel honored just for sharing the same birthday (March 12) with him. Roy Motherfucking Khan, you will be missed.
@Raidenist don't know if we gonna have the chance to hear him one day, in Kamelot or in a solo project. I hope he will stay in the "musical world" even if he only write songs for other ppl. this is why we have dreams :) @ lillepugsy : very late, but sincerely congrats for your wedding.. og takk for denne gaven...
I don't really care why he left. I wish for him the happiest days to come. I'll always treasure his voice and see him as the Reason of why I'm learning to sing. He got a away from Kamelot because of a Burnout, Fine, may he get better and do as he pleases. He got away from Kamelot because of an inner struggle with his spiritual beliefs, Fine, I didn't liked the last album anyway. No Matter the Reason I'll always support him. Instead of Blaming Religion, Get Real People, Live and let Live.
I've never heard him singing like that before. Seriously. I've watched so many live perfomances of him, but he's so freaking good here. Damn.
So glad he still sings. SO glad.
He a Masterpiece of vocal ability naturally.. He sends the message with emotional detail .. Complete artistic ability
Forever The Best Singer Of Kamelot and Conception...
oh my god...he sings the same in a live scenary, in a studio record, in a church, anywhere,,,, he is really a amazing singer...
Wow, he sounds great in this video! What a lucky couple to have such a talented singer at their wedding!
@DarthBleh OF COURSE WE ENJOYED IT!! We were all in tears, and like jiggasen says- everyone clapped afterwards! Roy is a very dear friend of many of us at the wedding, including the groom. Roy Khan always will be Roy Khan. love u, Roy...
This must be the 10th time I'm watching this, and I cry a bit more each time.

Crying. He has such a beautiful voice 😍
I am just a mess of emotions watching this. Thank you so much for uploading this! It's so nice to see Roy singing still. And he sounds amazing.
Not to mention Khan singing emphatically in Conception's 'My Decision" in1993 -- I leave belief to

Those who indulge

I seek, may find,
may change
I feel no guilt
No confession will

Such a talent. Kamelot is going to miss you, Roy.
I love this song !!! and that voice
oh my god! his voice is beautiful ... very beautiful!
Roy, I'm your fan forever. Metal is very much lost :(
@DarthBleh No, they absolutelly did! but this is not a gig, it's a wedding, in a church... not a concert. So people is showing respect for the place, but at the end they clapped, something very uncommon (usually you clap the wedding couple when they leave the church...)

Roy looks good in a suit
Oh, holy shit! Incredible.
@BringMeFrost No need to worry- the groom and many of the guests are close friends with Roy, so we know VERY well all about Roy! :-)
The best vocalist ever!
The audience doesn't seem to be enjoying it.
Roy Khan's voice is from another fucking world.
@ghigaful This is the only song he sang...he was a guest at the wedding, not working :-)
aaah q perfeitooo roy *-*
I cried too.
Damn sounds like Khan got his old voice back. I wish he gets back into music. Don't know why he left Kamelot, he could have had god and music.
This is new? He's still singing?
Oh my god, after seeing that, I have a bit more hope of seeing him return to active. It may not be with Kamelot, but maybe with a solo carrer or a new band.
Favorited, brilliant performance and congratulations for having him singing on your wedding.

@HBTNFTB666 And amazing guitarplaying as well....no room for mistakes. Nailed it :-)

I hope the couple, as well as everyone else, realized what an HONOR this was...
And I, too, feel honored just for sharing the same birthday (March 12) with him.
Roy Motherfucking Khan, you will be missed.
He's still got it....
O Roy se senta ao lado dos grandes!!!
I'd marry anyone just so I can hire him to sing at my wedding.

@Raidenist

Oh, you're right, then...! Because he really is a great singer...
@jasonlgreenberg I totally agree!!! Just an intimate acoustic ballad album.....
That's some mic action...haha, made me grin :)
I don't really care why he left. I wish for him the happiest days to come. I'll always treasure his voice and see him as the Reason of why I'm learning to sing.
