This game is about as perfect as you can get imo. Great sound design, great level design, AMAZING soundtrack and challenging gameplay. Just a true and real game without dlc or add ons.

Forest interlude is a very emotionally charged song for me. I was listening to it when I got news that a family member had cancer and not long to live. Unfortunately I will always associate with that despite how lovely it is. Krook's March and Mining Melancholy are my favorite

Watching him delete the 102% save game at the end hurt so much more than it should have. I didnt see it coming.
This is by far the most enjoyable run I've watched.
It's fascinating watching the fast movement required to quickly get to bonus barrels. It's even better in x2 speed.

I watch AGDQ runs compared to just regular speedrun videos primarily due to the couch crews. I love the stories they have to tell and the awesome and interesting facts they always share regarding the absolute nitty-gritty details of whatever game is being run. And I agree that this couch crew was a particularly good one. Tis why this is my third time watching this run in a matter of weeks, :3
I just really wish there was a DKC3 run with you guys too. Then we'd have the full trilogy, :D

This was the game of my childhood. Played this so much. It's genius. It had all my favorite game biomes: Lava and Swamps, even a theme park and bee hives! Amazing.

Own all three Donkey Kong Country games on SNES. Donkey Kong Country 2 will always be my favorite. I just wish my SNES was still working, it lasted so many years.
I recently downloaded all 3 DKC games on my 3DS. Best alternative so you can play them on the go!

Some of the best play, commentary, and group dynamic/synergy. This is literally my favorite run of all time. These guys are incredible at what they and it's so fun to watch.

So glad I went back to look at this run I'd somehow missed for three years running... This commentary is amazing, engaging, and even when I'm not looking I know exactly what the speedtech is at that point, without having learned the DKC 102% speedruns. It's extremely enjoyable from an outside view.

I recently completed this great game after watching this speedrun; that Screech skip helped a lot, even for casual play (I damage-boosted to get the skip)!
Long before I ever heard about speedrunning communities I did casual 102% speedruns of DKC2 back in the day. My best was an ingame 1:52. V0oid, you are a true hero! It was such an entertaining run to watch, also thanks to the great commentary! Mad props for bringing back those childhood memories! Had to dry my eyes several times lol

some amazing music sometimes I listen to it it's on youtube. Amazing game too with Super Mario World my two fav platformers.
Yea a tube TV is definitely the best way to enjoy it, but the input lag on most HD tv's shouldn't effect gameplay TOO much, as there aren't a ton of 1-frame trick in DKC2

There are converters to HDMI so you don't need an older TV.
V0oid gets crazy respect from me, every time someone put up a donation wager he earned that shit no problem, you could really tell he was trying.
Well, almost. Flawless run is kinda hard to nab, especially under pressure.
He definitely had no idea I was going to challenge him to do that either.

This is one of my favorite runs from GDQ. V0oid is playing really well and landing hard tricks and he's got some opinions on stuff. The commentary is really well balanced. The middle guy is providing good overall context, both other couch guys give their own info and do it in different ways, and the two guys are just chillin on the sides with a DK tie lol.

I remember that DK coin in world 2 in that bonus. As a kid it was the hardest thing ever for me to find. You just never think of it being in a bonus. But getting 102 percent as a kid was the best feeling ever.

I got to say that this GDQ playthrough, I watched soooo many times. Best commentators from both the player and couch and best game by far in my opinion to the other DKC games :D. But I guess they say the DKC 3 is objectively the best?
I love this one too and def think DKC2 is the best. I also love runs with KZ Frew doing vice city and Smoothoperative doing Tomb Raider 2. Check them if you havent.

I just noticed that the Bonus Barrel at 51:29 uses a plain Barrel Cannon sprite, much like the Warp Barrels.
Amazing skills, really impressive. Just completed this game few hours ago, but I would never be able to memorize every single detail, like V0oid did.
And I only got 29 DK Coins in total and only 3 from 4 levels of Klubba, about 10-11 Kremcoins are missing. His control of the characters is crazy..

Hey, what about DKC3? That has some awesome pieces of music. It doesn't have any single track that is more...iconic, I suppose, than Stickerbush Symphony or Aquatic Ambiance, but most of its tracks are really really nice to listen to.
But that's not a common opinion.
And it's StickerBUSH Symphony, not BRUSH.
Technique San No, it's officially Stickerbush. It says so on the soundtrack. A misspelling just got perpetuated to the point that people think it's the actual name.
It is in fact 'bush', not 'brush'. Not sure the name-calling was warranted too...
I like the underwater music from DKC3. But you can definitely tell it's all a notch below DKC2's soundrack. I really can't think of anything else that stands out to me like almost all of the music from DKC2 does. Either way, I still prefer just about everything about DKC3 to DKC1.

There needs to be a 100% run of any DKC other than DKC2, seeing as DKC2 is the only one that has gotten a 100% run.
Well DKC3 finally got a 100% run, but that still leaves 3 other games.
