"Sie sind scheize und si kennen si sind" means, "You're shit and you know you are", which is a popular British football chant. There was also, "Fussbal kommt zu hause", which is "Football's coming home", because Brits invented football and that was a popular song at the time.

I worked in the Financial Markets for 30 year's (in IT), Al's depiction of the Trading Floors is a wickedly accurate caricature of international trading. It makes it so funny. Yeah, he was speaking German. The thing about living near Europe, you sort of pick up bits and pieces of other languages from time to time, and just catching a word or two for us lets us in on the joke (as well as singing well-known English football chants) - he was imitating a German gloating about their football prowess over England, mostly. I caught the 7-1 Brazil reference and Argentina in there too.

Willy Messerschmitt had an aircraft company that in 1934 designed a metal skin monoplane that was technically far ahead of the competition. This was the Bf 109, or Me 109. The plane went on to be the mainstay of the Luftwaffe fighter arm through World War 2. While bypassed by later and better aircraft designs, it was still in service in differing versions in 1945. Hence the joke being that Al names the German caller as Fritz Messerschmitt, and he's on extension 109.
The names of the German traders, Focke-Wulf, Dornier, Heinkel and Junkers, are all WWII German aircraft manufacturers.

Europeans often have a basic understanding of the other European languages. Not so much that we can speak them or understand perfectly but we can often figure out what they say by piecing together words here end there and add them to the context. Like all of Al Murray's material but this is the best sketch. The problem for American's is perhaps how much he does on Germans both them ridiculing us for being "shit" at football and the British reminding them that we beat them in two world wars and beating them in 1966 in the world cup. The weird thing is we are actually close to the Germans in many ways since the war, it's the French we ridicule more and feel they don't like us. Its all to do with history which is his subject and the material he uses for his humour. Also if you see an AL Murray full show he picks out members in the audience, asks their names and country and then uses them in his act which is very clever but watching a section can be confusing when he seems to pick on someone randomly. He is great and the over acting on characters is deliberate and the New York is mixing dodgy traders with the Godfather Mafia.

The reason for the Irish accent and asking about the money is because of a phenomenon called the Celtic Tiger in the Republic of Ireland.
From the mid 1990's until the stock market crash in 2007/8 the Republic's economy, especially around in and around Dublin went crazy. Massive development and investment, banks and institutions couldn't hand over money quick enough, that was until the smelly brown sticky stuff hit the rotary air circulation device when the markets crashed. Then the banks and institutions couldn't get their money, or what was left of it back quick enough.

The wartime German fighter aircraft were called Messerschmidt bf109's - Think Boeing 747 (instead of Jumbo Jet) and it's along the same lines

Heinkel, Dornier, Junkers, Focke Wulf- German plane manufacturers of WW2. Tiger Tank- famous German tank WW2- the two songs (in English)- "You're shit and you know you are" and "Footballs coming home".

Messerschmitt 109 was a ww2 German fighter plane. Look out for names of other famous German planes when he names Fritz's colleagues. Much of the German bit was mocking England about football...

He was speaking Anglo German. little bits of German intermixed with English - enough to understand what he was saying. Most of Fritz Messerschmitt's conversation was about Germany's victories in the Soccer World Cup, with his "Sie ist scheiss und sie kennen sie ist, sie sind scheiss.... ( You are shite and you know you are - that's what England footie fans sing to their opponents. it's hilarious if you know any German words at all.. it's a clever mixing up of two different languages and cultures... Gotta love Al's inventiveness...

Messerschmitt Bf 109 was the main fighter plane for Germany during WW2, the other names he used were all German planes, except for the tank. He was speaking a mix of German and an extremely exaggerated German accent in English making reference to them spanking us in football.
