Excellent TH-cam. Your triad and lead artful deconstruction is fantastic. And then I learned so much about vintage tubes and some of these amps. So interesting. Hello Rabbit hole !
Dear Mr. Loughlin, Great stuff! I'm 77 now, and still play sessions in studios all over Europe, although nowadays not as much as I used to. Country is my real passion, but I've never had the time to focus on it, because my main job was a translator for the German government. AND I got married to a lovely German lass and 4 kids arrived quickly, which of course took up a lot of my time too, as you can imagine! 😊 All I want to tell you is that I find your country lessons really great! Please keep up the good work! I play with a trio and a quartet 5-6 times a month... and they're also country fans! They're going to LOVE what this old Scotsman has already learned from you!!! Thank you! I wish you everything that you wish for yourself. Best, Ron
cool just hooked up with an ol' boy and band mate from 25 years ago. he's got a great vault load of raspy country / ballad songs. His motto is - "3 chords and a story' And I'm just using triads to embellish and color without getting in the way and making him feel like his losing his songs identity. Right on the money vid for me That tele of yours sounds so great and alive every time I watch your stuff! cheers Adam
This is a great lesson Jason! Triads and chord shapes completely changed how I play. I'm always discovering more of how different triads and chords relate to each other.
Hi from New Zealand, 'eyeopening' is an understatement, I knew a lot of the stuff you talk about here, stacked 3rd's and whatnot, but I never thought about them in a way that I shood'a known would work in a sense I could create proper music with them when soloing for instance. This stuff is gold, and I want to thank you for sharing it with us. GBY and all the best from NZ, kind regards, Bart.
Great lesson. Love the Major Triad fundamentals course. As an experienced player, I've found it to be an enriching experience. Easily great for a beginner/early intermediate too.
I'm a beginner with probable Aural Aphasia. Playing musical is my biggest problem. But your channel is like putting training wheels on my fretboard, and you give me hope.
Hi Devin! If I remember correctly, 'enclosures' are where one plays the note above and the note below before playing the target note. Or, one can play the note below and the note above before the target note. Thus, one is enclosing the target note. I hope this helps.
This must be a "live stream." I can always tell, because the person stands there at the beginning for 5 minutes, looking stupid, and staring somewhere off-screen, other than at the camera (I'm assuming their monitor). I HATE "live streams," and THAT'S one reason why! (There are more reasons....) But, I'm gonna watch anyway, cuz I've found you often have useful info! (Actually, VERY often.) (Edit: BTW, i didn't mean my first comments to be as insulting as they seem, after reading them back, lol.) So, here goes.... Ok, so it took me s few minutes to understand what this video is about! The title didn't exactly "give it away." At 12:10, where you decided to "add color," and you went to the 2nd interval of the C Maj scale...wouldn't that kinda depend on what the vocalist is doing? (Assuming there is a vocal line, but you did mention that earlier, when you were talking about "staying out of the way"....) Hmmm. Out of the other videos of yours I've watched, I've learned a lot. But, I don't think this particular one is for me. Mainly because "this" (topic) doesn't really fit in with what I'm focusing my practice on right now. Anyway, thanks, Jason. I'm just offering a little feedback, hope it helps! I'll be seeing you again soon, probably.... (I'm 'scribed, but i don't watch everything I'm 'acribed to!) 👍👍👍

Just started watching your videos. Love your style and presented in a way that makes sense. Learned so much in such a short time.
thanks for the break up of the major, helped a lot :-)
Thanks Jason. Does triad is the three notes that goes together in harmony?
Great lessons
Thank you 🙏❤️
Hey Jason, You mentioned "enclosures" in soloing approaches. What is this? Looking forward to diving into your triads course.

@@Morant61 Much appreciated.
@@Morant61 Correct, except it can actually be a number of notes on either "side" of the target notes.

I am a verry new player and are not sure of the meaning of some of the words that are used. Like triads. Can I ask this dum question. What is a triad?
Harmony built on diatonic thirds. Also called tertiary harmony
Taking the bus out of Wankertown in 2024😂
