so officially, we did pass tech at OSW. with that being said, i had a long discussing with the guy that runs the OSW events: so yes it did pass tech, he said he could of nit pick it, maybe failed it because the angle ( or the absent of , angle of the down bars. he said he wasn't going to failed it, because its a roll bar/ not a half cage which with proper down bars " technically makes it a half cage" its the grey area, where you could pass tech or fail. so ALWAYS check your local tracks for actually verifications, dont go on he/she said(word of mouth).
Great video. My long term goal is to track my 07' Z33 Roadster. I appreciate you showing the steps & gives me the direction down the road. Just finished suspension mods, next up Timing Chain kit w. Mishimoto water pump & Radiator. I'm in Tampa, FL & don't want to sacrifice my top.
Definitely do , it breaks necks i use to hate the vert but i havw grown to truly love the expenrinece .. and if you ever see me at showtime or osw come say hi...
so that was is a hard question because this was version 1... which i believe was main hoop before bend was 46 inches/ at the top length wise after bend it was about 38 ... tall it was about 37 inches... honestly does measurements will be different for you .. it depends on what main hoop you buy or make... and how it ends up its basically how much your willing to remove from interior of the car and cut out... after this video i did end up re doing the half cage doing a version 2.. which i cut the speaker holder metal out and place the half cage on the step up.. to give the driver more space.... and now currently the car is fully caged with a version 3 all hand bended and cut custom cage in the car
Hi man, great zed! I have a 350z convertible and trying to attend a track day in 5 months but need a rollcage fitting. How did you get the bar that's behind the headrests?
so thats a very hard question to answer because it comes down to preference, and what your willing to sacrifice ... for example in this video... i sacrifice space... to keep the top working... electronically... so cut and try to fit it as close to the floor as possible.....( down side is big guys or tight fit in cockpit..).. currently... i re did it.. and i cut off all the speaker bracket and put it how a half case is suppose to work ( on the step up) .. but now my top does not work...
I did not cut into the uninody it's just a overlaping panels that to my understanding does not affect structure integrity of the cars uninody ... but in my state ,it would not matter because we do not have a required inspection
Man it was sick!!! I’ll buy a vert HR tomorrow because the prices is good for the car but I really want some place who can do it for me because I don’t have time to do it and I have same necessities as you, live in orlando Florida and my only concern is pass at osw inspection, have you been thinking do it and charge for that ? I don’t need nothing professional just done want to lose the functionality from the soft top… let me know man I’m literally going to buy it tomorrow afternoon!!!
yeah i get that people don't like the look of the verts( its definitely a acquire taste) but once you get use to it .. they dont look bad... the price diffrence is worth getting a vert vs a hardtop.. not only that i feel like that you fine better kept examples of convertible own by older people and not abuse vs a hardtop most of the time they been abuse.... i think a vert is a very good options.. plus i pick up my hardtop clean tittle 350z shell for very cheap and i was going to transfer everything over in the beginning.. but i did enjoy the vert so ended up not doing it
@@th3banditx that’s nice man, so could you able to say one place that can did the same job in my car and the average how much is gonna coast? To be honest with you I don’t have time to do it and I need someone who can do that for me.
@@victornogueira7833 honestly its hard to say how much will it coast... for example if you just bring the car to a shop tell them what you want, and they do all the bending and welding fully custom thats prob going to be the most expensive way prob over 1k -3k.... vs if you buy everything and prep the car /strip the car/ and all they have to do is weld it together it can be under 1k... but again it depends on shops labor and material
im going tomorrow to the big track down here in Orlando, ill let you know then, and yeah having to do this sucks, hoping other people got some info on it..
Just search 350z main loop on Google, theirs a bunch, honestly I wish I would of measure a Lil more I got a genetic one, it's okay but I wish it was a little wider

Looking good bro
How to get the bucket seat in the convertible I’ve heard it can mess with the top working
I using a sparco bracket and slider , with no issues top goes up and down no issue... I wish I would of use like some low planted bracket
I know State laws vary, but your car passed safety inspection to legally drive on a public highway? After cutting into the unibody?

Same we need to play some games soon bro
