- Making the 350z more competitive every chance I get, and this time I've teamed up with GK Tech to make the angle kit way more legit that it used to be! Huge thanks to them for supporting me and the program, I can't wait to drive with this new set up!
GK Tech Install Video:
• Gktech V2 Z33 350z V35...
From GK Tech: The Z33 Super Lock front lower control arms (LCA) simplify, improve and replace the front lower control arm and compression rods on the 350z/G35, while also supporting around 65+ degrees of steering lock.
These arms are designed based off CMM data, they are CAD designed, FEA tested, have CNC machined ends and the main body is laser cut and bent from 4130 Chromoly Steel.
We have replaced the dual OEM arms and made ours one piece. By switching to a 1pc design the kinematics are altered which makes for a design that will not bind at high angle and does not cause the steering to fall onto lock, both traits of the OEM 2pc design.
Going to a one piece design also has allowed us to increase the caster angle by 2-3 degrees and this can be further increased by our front upper camber arms which have the adjustment to increase caster by up to 1 degree.
These arms are adjustable, at their minimum length they start at 0.98' (+25mm) over OEM and adjust out to 1.96' (+50mm) from OEM.
These arms have been designed with the OEM knuckle in mind, meaning they will work with our bolt on steering kit which uses the OEM knuckle.
A limiting factor with the OEM LCA is the strut to knuckle position in that the brake caliper is prone to hitting the strut when on full on lock. To assist with clearance we have moved the strut mount further inward 30mm so this limiting factor is no longer prevalent. - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
I got the gktech uppers and the v1 lowers with the v1 angle kit and love it so much one day I'll get their knuckles and really maximize the full kit
Glad to hear! I figured I’ll end up with the knuckles one day too haha
@@tonycrispin I'm kinda like you if I don't have to spend the money I really don't want to those knuckles are $1000 so I'm like I'll wait a while
# minutes in to this video and I subbed. The way you explain things that are positives and then explain what the issues you are encountering was perfect. Keep up this type of great format and how you point things out and this channel will not just blow up but be a great asset when it comes to future people using this as reference material. Killer job man for real.
Thank you!! I love sharing knowledge and insight however I can. I really appreciate the kind words 🙏🏼
Oh ya your going to have a blast with that kit.
I’m sure! Can’t wait to drive it!
That new kit has a shiiiitt ton of angle holy moly 😮
A lot!!!
banger after banger
🙏🏼
I think that's a great intermediate angle kit but I think you'll need a new knuckle eventually. Once you go there you'll need a rack offset kit. Then...
Lol! Yep that’s how it goes. One step at a time
Dope af 🔥
Thanks brotha!
I have the same angle kit.. You'll almost never spin again😂😂
Perfect 😂😂
I just recently got my bolt on kit. Have to install it. U used stock 350z tie rods for that set up right ??
Yep! That’s what I’ve been running for years
So how’s that lightweight crank pulley treating your engine?
No issues at all! Been great 👍🏼
Can you share alignment and wheel specs ? :)
I run 18x9.5 +12 all around but I run a big spacer up front. Might change that with how wide these LCA are. Unsure of new camber settings but I’d guess around 4-5 degrees of front camber and I usually run a half inch of toe out. Wouldn’t recommend that on a street car but feels good on track! The rears set as close to 0 camber and toe as possible with minor toe adjustments depending on the track day and our grip goals
@@tonycrispin oh wow, I have really similar specs to you. I rub the back of my head light so I had to max out caster to pull the wheel back.
I took my front spacers off last event and liked how it felt. I think it gives a little more headlight clearance so I want to see if I can lower my caster a little
@@buddybrigade oh interesting! I haven’t checked headlight clearance yet lol I guess I’ll find out soon 😅
i have the bolt on kit no arms. it feels terrible when turning. it doesnt self steer either. any thoughts?
Check your alignment first, then see what the akerman is set to on the adjusters. It should self steer easily and feel super natural when set up right!
@@tonycrispin what was your akerman set too? and alignment?
@@TehKairo akerman is set to the more aggressive setting out of the two options. And I run a half inch of toe out
Whatcha doin with the old angle kit 🤔🤔🤔👀👀
The bolt on kit is still on the car this just replaces the lower control arms
@@tonycrispin Ohhhh! My bad lmaoo
