Good video! We moved from Australia to Mexico last year with our 3 small dogs and used Jetpets. They organised transport Brisbane to Los Angeles with a 'comfort stop' overnight in Auckland New Zealand where the dogs were walked, fed and crates cleaned. Then dogs joined our plane (Air New Zealand) from Auckland to LAX (still in cargo section) where a 'sister' pet company collected dogs after a vet examined them there and delivered them to us curbiside in front of United Airlines check in; dogs arrived in excellent condition. Dealing with Dikpesh in Melbourne Australia was brilliant. It was so horrible, flights kept getting cancelled, had to be rescheduled at last minute and they took care of everything. Cost us about $6000 AUD including vet checks, overnight stay in Auckland for them and rabies shots. Jetpets kept on top of all the timing of everything (another company - Dogtainers - wanted to charge us double that cost). From LAX dogs flew in the cabin with us to Mexico (had to buy an extra airline ticket for them and had to fly first class). Mexico is a breeze getting into - just needed the rabies shot and previous vet exam results and a vet examined them upon landing to approve their entry (took about an hour and a half for the 3 of them). Worth mentioning we had trouble with United Airlines when we landed in LA who weren't going to let 3 dogs fly on the plane and my brilliant travel agent argued with them for 2 hours on the phone that this had all been approved and they allowed it in the end. United were terrible!!
Interesting to know! I am also in Brisbane and looking at either moving to Bali, NZ or Mexico. Funny you say you ditched Aus for Mexico as there seems to be the Libertarian destination. You don't follow TDV by chance? Anyways, thanks for the tips for dogs. I have a small dog and I won't go anywhere without him.
@@iamthat7351 I would skip Bali and NZ especially (no freedom there - extremely dryconian). Mexico is very 'free' at the moment and it's a breeze getting a dog in here. Yes I know the group you are talking about and we also were listening to these videos, but since arriving here have found lots of things we don't like about them. They are very much into drugs and witchcraft. If you are not into those things - they are not your people. However, Mexico is brilliant and I highly recommend coming here!

Another interesting one could be Brazil - but it's awful far away and I heard it can be dangerous there. When will you leave? I think things are going to escalate very soon.

Thank you for watching us. I don't know the term HGV license. A large vehicle poses a few challenges but would definitely accommodate 4 pets easier than our Citroen.
Hi there your video was very informative. We are leaving the states for Turkey on December 26th, we will fly United to Belgium and then Sun Express from Belgium to Antalya Turkey this is the first experience we will have taking our 8.8 pound dog with us in a pet carrier. However our veterinarian says it may not be possible because of the amount of time it takes to do the rabies titer test. Our dog is one year, one month. We thought when she had her puppy shots that they included a rabies shot but today we found out that was not the case. So we have proceeded getting our dog microchipped and rabies vaccinated in that order but our vet says we should wait at least 30 days before taking the rabies titer test and she is not confident we will get our results back in time to do the other paper work. It seems that there is nothing we can do to speed up the process and we are locked in to our December 26th departure date for a number of reasons our vet says that the only rabies titer lab is in Kansas and she is forced to deal with them. It seems as though you two have all kinds of experience with these things is it true that Turkey requires the rabies titer test? And is there anyway we can speed up this process. We went ahead and scheduled a titer test for November 17th and the vet said it would be overnighted to Kansas so they will have it the next day it’s my understanding that when the test is completed the results will be emailed immediately but the unknown is how long will all of that take and will we still have enough time to get the certifications we need any comments or suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated. Are you exiting the international terminal in Belgium to get your pet and then having to recheck for Turkey? Are we looking at rules for Belgium and Turkey I guess is an important question. Right now we think you’ll be okay. Thanks for this super helpful video! I was wondering if you've ever had any trouble with the flight agents (especially for international flights) as the dogs are not able to fully stand up and turn around in the carrier. I have a mini poodle and am so nervous about travelling with him as he is almost 14 inches tall.
This is possible, but won’t be easy once you head eastward. Most of the time the trains will charge a pet passage fee for larger dogs. We have not flown back to the United States with the dogs other than from Ecuador. We had to have an International health certificate and vaccine records as well as some official stamps. From Europe, I believe it would require a health certificate. If you plan to return to the USA with the dog, be careful which countries you enter because of the current rabies ban. Turkey is on the list.

We are moving to Ecuador April 27, 2022. When I saw this video I almost passed out. However, it is correct that you have to do your own research. We are transporting a cat, not a dog, and the requirements are different. After watching this video I called the USDA and they said that a three year Rabies vaccination certificate is accepted in Ecuador for my ten year old cat. I also spoke with a vet who stated that a one year rabies vaccination with a dog could have been because of the dogs age??? My vet is USDA Certified to help with the requirements, but has not been that helpful. In the future I would have asked how much experience the USDA Certified Vet had.

Delta Airlines was not a great experience transporting my sweet cat. However it was a breeze going through Ecuadorian Customs. They wouldn't have known I was with my cat if I hadn't pointed it out. They just wanted my paperwork (USDA report) and were very kind to my cat.
I can't stress enough how useful this video was! I assume that you crossed the border from EU to Turkey and back EU with a car. How was that experience? Did you fill any paper work apart from the pet passport? I read that the border vet might want to inspect the dogs. Did anything like that happen to you?
We experienced one border crossing where we had to visit the veterinary passport kiosk. It was leaving Turkey and entering Bulgaria. It was super simple and took no time. They looked at the pet passport and gave approval.
what happens when you get to another country and you have all these shots, documents and so forth, and then when ready to again go to another destination, how do you handle that being you're not in the US?
When we went to Turkey we had our dogs with all their vaccination records on their EU pet passports and we drove across the border. If you’re flying into Turkey it will depend on what country you are arriving from. Look on pettravel.com
I would like to see a video about some more basic things like food for your dogs, walking them in a new city and traveling with their pet stuff. Do you make their food or carry some with you? Can you get their favorite dog food anywhere in the world? I am thinking of traveling with 2 small dogs and I don't really see these things addressed in videos.
Those are great ideas. We will try to incorporate some of them. We do make their food and we give them kibble as a snack for additional supplements. We recently had to switch to a new food because the one we had was incredibly difficult to find.

This doesn’t sound correct. I suggest finding a reputable vet in the area. The cats should only have to go through what Serbia requires. I assume they are micro chipped. You should be able to take them to the veterinarian, make sure any vaccinations required by Serbia are up-to-date and you may have to get an international health certificate issued. We made sure we had international health certificates to cross each border until we were able to get to an EU country and have the EU pet passport issued for each of them. For example, when we were in Montenegro we had a Montenegrin health certificate issued to cross the border into Serbia. We also had one done in Serbia to cross into Macedonia. Several times these were not even looked at however I suggest you do everything that is required.
@@tamarasantosc I brought one of my cats to Serbia 2 days ago, I got import permit from Turkish governments vet and everything went really god. When I got to Belgrade airoport they only ask do I have any paper work but honestly they just scanned papers for like 2 seconds

We have flown with them twice. Both times it was fairly easy. They settled down quickly for us. I hope your flight goes well😊

Try to relax about the trip. Traveling with pets isn't easy, but it's rewarding once you make it to the continent and have them with you ☺️👍
