dondi2261 I have a mix shithzu toy poodle and I always read the labels, I've saved myself a lot of money.a lot of those treats are just junk especially at petsmarts.if I do get treats I get them at chuck and sons or Menards(depends on what's on sale though.at Menards you get better deal.
Mytexas1 I agree! I've used that food for all my dogs. Never had a problem. I did get a recall on Iams before with my first dog. Also my dogs all lived beyond their years. I'd recommend it to everyone that has a healthy dog!
My dog had this allergic reaction during spring time for the past few years. We always thought it was because of the spring grass growing so she had to take pills for it. Then some dog foods were getting recalled and my mom decided to make dog food. After months of our dog eating this food spring has came around and she hasn’t had what we thought was the allergic reaction to grass. It may have been because of the grass but it was also because of what we were feeding her before. It was some blue buffalo kibble for small I think adult dogs. She doesn’t need her pills anymore. Sorry this is long baha.
Thank you so much for putting this information on the internet My dog has cancer of the bladder and isn’t expected to live beyond one month to six months. I am wondering if I have caused this through the food I’ve been feeding her. I have been feeding her Purina dog food. I found maggots in two different recently purchased bags. 😟 Pat Goodman
I agree with V’s comment. No wonder dogs love home cooked meals. This was a very good video so we can not harm are pets thinking we are feeding them well. Thank you so much for this info
The easiest way to find out the best dog foods is to visit the web site, DogFoodAdvisor. i never buy a new food without checking there first. ITs never steered me wrong. Of course you have to take your own dog's medical conditions, etc under advisement but this is the absolute best way to find the healthiest (and screen out the worst!) dog foods. Ive even had conversations with strangers at pet stores who have shared that they have been to DogFoodAdvisor first.
video shared.....Did you know some pet foods are labeled 'packaged in Canada' but, the ingredients can come from anywhere? Do yo know single serving (in disposable plastic dishes) can either not seal properly, have the seal broken in shipping or......poked with a sharp object like a needle? Then bacteria sets in and you will never see it. Remember back in the day or pets ate what we ate and lived....and lived much longer??? We have found a supply of raw/scrap meat and now cook or own. We can using good old mason jars or freeze the home cooked product.Saving money, time, health and needless heart break. We shy away from wild game since learning about 'wasting disease'.
We used to use Purina One and after watching this video which the blue it has Farley chicken Depot chicken and stuff like that and then it is that healthy?
Royal canine is owned by Pedigree is a subsidiary unit of Mars Inc both use chicken by products and corn and corn meal dnt waste your money just by judging the price do some research its better to feed different types or raw or boiled animal meat than to go for fillers
atif ahmad boiling meat and mixing rice is good for giving your pet if they are vomiting, but it’s not a good idea to do that long term as it is very rough on the kidneys. Wild dogs eat what they kill and live, but they don’t live for very long because of that. Our pets life expectancies have gone from 4-5 years to 12-15 years because dog food companies have done years of research and studied what our pets need to help them live longer. Yes, if you get a 20 lb bag of food for $5 it’s probably full of fillers and things not good for pets, however not ALL commercial dog foods are poison to your pets. Wouldn’t it make sense for them to make a product that your pet is going to need for a long time as opposed to only getting a couple years of business. These conspiracy theories are insane.
Des Lem2 understand the meaning of disease and nutrition you see those wild dogs in forest well they live happy for long time its just we have enough of garbage and disease to kill these stray dog easily but even in forest you never heard vets giving dewormers well nature works these all company sells with different name i saw most are sub brands all they need nutrition and good hygiene so quality of living can be improved and life expectancy of any animal can be increased
@@desirae2637 Our pets life expectancy is going down in large part because of the poor quality of most of today's pet foods. This is not a conspiracy theory. There is proof. There are so many dogs being bred & killed every year there is an endless supply so no worry about selling dog food. Wild dogs don't die because of what they kill. It's actually a healthy diet & what the best manufacturers try to base their formula's on. Wild dogs die from running out of food, extreme weather, predators, etc.
I cook for my dog, She get lots of veggies, fresh cook chicken and turkey, and some time red meat enough to last about 3 days. Rice is high in calories, for a 1/4 cup of instant rice there is around 200 calories, but you still can feed it to your dog just watch how much you feed them. When you cook for your dog or cat you know what their eating.
I ditched canned food., kibble and manufactured ‘treats’ for my greyhounds a few years ago. To begin with it was difficult because cans and kibble were all you could get and I had to rely on chicken and beef (sadly with added dextrose and salt 😡) plus lamb heart, kidney and liver from the supermarket. Then companies appeared selling a variety of raw human grade ground meat and bone, mixed with 40% tripe and offal, 10% fruit and veg, plus kelp oil. 😄 Treats are fresh sardines, duck necks, chicken carcass - yes, all raw for crunch and satisfaction. Sadly as long as people continue to buy ‘convenience’ trash the manufacturers will be laughing all the way to bank whilst pet parents head for the vet.
Yuk, do the BARF diet, my Tina lost weight and gained muscle. Clean, uncontaminated raw meat as 50% of her diet has brought her back to the hunter I require in my work animal. Also her increased activity level has been good for my health too.
all kibble is unhealthy. a raw diet is the most optimal type of diet for a dog because they are facultative carnivores and require meat. it's cheaper too, instead of buying a huge expensive bag of preservatives and fillers that don't even benefit the dog and is only there to make the dog feel fuller, you're actually giving your dog fresh meat packed with the necessary vitamins and nutrients they need to thrive. a dog does not need to eat grains, vegetables or fruit. they can if they have to, however dogs do not get many benefits from eating them. dogs do not have salivary amylase which is responsible for breaking down carbs and starches before they enter the stomach. because dogs lack this, it is difficult for them to digest vegetables and fruit and to absorb any nutrients from them. dogs do not have a physiological requirement for carbohydrates. and no, you or your dog aren't going to develop salmonella or e.coli or any other bacteria by handling and feeding your dog raw meat. if you practice normal hygiene standards and common sense when handling raw meat you aren't going to get sick. potentially yes there is a chance of your dog getting sick from bacteria, ONLY if the dog already has an immunocompromised system or some underlying problem. dogs are surprisingly well-equipped to deal with bacteria. their saliva has antibacterial properties; it contains lysozyme, an enzyme that lyses and destroys harmful bacteria. their short digestive tract is designed to push through food and bacteria quickly without giving bacteria time to colonize. the extremely acidic environment in the gut is also a good bacteria colonization deterrent; basically it's an incredibly low chance for your dog to get sick, and it's not like you aren't risking your dog by feeding them kibble because that can also contain bacteria such as salmonella or e.coli. most of the documented cases of severe bacterial septicemia are from kibble-fed animals or animals suffering from reactions to vaccines. commercial pet foods have been pulled off shelves more than once because of bacteria AND molds that produce a deadly toxin. if you're interested in feeding your dog a raw diet, this site is extremely helpful and will teach you how to transition dogs onto a raw diet, how much and what to feed, and educate you on the benefits of a raw diet. perfectlyrawsome.com/
...you failed to mention potassium-chloride. It is used to stop the heart, in criminals, on death row, and it causes dogs to die of congested heart failure. Sadly, I've lost different dogs, because of this. :(
Thing is, organic or "better" ingredient dog food is waaaaay expensive!!!! I try to give my dog a mix of higher quality dog food and Cesar dog food, which is questionable, however, she loves it and it's affordable. The prior owner gave her Cesar and table food as well and she is fine. She is not overweight and in good health for her age, which is 12. She loves rice as well mixed in with her food or if I cook and have leftover chicken or beef I cut it up for her and put some rice in there and she loves it!!
the band you mentioned killed one of or dogs and put 4 others into renal failure. Fact. They sent me $200 dollars to help cover a $4,000 vet bill.....the company admitted they knew the cause of or problem. Wonderful...just wonderful! (am posting more above) Give your girl a hug (-:
I will always put my pets nutritional needs before mine. I give my dog a raw diet and my cats eat a freeze dried raw kibble. I'm over here eating McDonald's...
Katie Cox royal canine contains chicken by product...basically road kill and disgusting. Vets are like doctors and prescribe things that are unsafe right? It's all about the money...
um, we in my family when we have a heart burn take a half to one teaspoon of sodium and blend it with water in a glass and drink it, cause sodium is acid and it works against acid in the stomach. So it relieves our heart burns. Non of us have ever gotten any sort of cancer. But okay Edit: oh nvm my english sucks, I mean we use baking soda lol not Sodium sorreeey.... Or is it the same??
I only give Acana and Canagan for my maltese puppy. He’s so healthy and a good diet is so important for his health and his hair! He’s glowing and he’s so energetic all the time. Acana and Canagan have the best quality meat and other ingrediens are mostly greens not things that can make your dog sick for sure!
If rice is bad then why do vets recommend boiling rice and chicken for when your dog has a poor stomach. If your tinned dog food has 7% rice surely that can't be a bad thing? Just make sure the tinned food you buy is majority made out of meat and avoid the other toxic ingredients P.S if you know more/better than me please feel free to say
Thank you for this video, I got my dog's dog food, and circled every bad ingredient on there. I was going to switch the dog food, but now i'm definitely going to switch my dog's food.
It isn't toxic no company wanna kill any pets they process it well i have feed pedegree pro royal canin drools and even drools focus to my puppy he is in the best condition his coat is shiny not any digestion problem i feed him wheat chapatis too in between and loves it again it differs from dog to dog but i can surely say it isnt toxic
Dog food processed in China is the worst. Does anybody remember in the early-mid 2000's. All the health issues and death's, from food being processed in China. That's also a bigger issue.
Mary F Richardson You seem to be misinformed. The dog food was not processed in China, rather a Chinese manufacturer of wheat gluten played an illegal card when they included melamine in their wheat gluten to artificially jack up the protein levels. The pet food companies normally do tests to find foreign entities in their food, but due to the nature of melamine, it just showed up as normal wheat protein so they put their food up on shelves. The companies should have been more discriminating when it comes to picking ingredient manufacturers, but it still wasn’t DIRECTLY their faults.
Mary F Richardson The wheat gluten manufacturer was Xuzhou Anying Biologic Technology Development Co. Ltd., located in the Jiangsu province (East China near Shanghai).
Mary F Richardson why blame everything on the chinese? It's the greedy american corporations that are killing your dogs, not the chinese. You need to get a grip.
@@atmospheriicx cats are carnivores. Dogs are omnivores. They eat both meat and fruits in the wild. Cats eat all meat and occasionally some grass for fiber
So if all these foods are so kind of bad cuz I've seen these ingredients in even the dog foods that are supposed to be good what are you supposed to feed your dog then
I can't read THAT fast. Eliminate the annoying background 'music' and replace it with a narrator. I have to silence many video's 'music'. It's not necessary.
Great informative video. Sad that they use our pets to pawn off extra materials that would be garbage, otherwise, pure greed. Have to wonder if it is one of the factors contributing to more cancer and allergies in pets
As my dog has gotten older, she can't handle a lot of dyes in her food or treats. The Vet said, the dyes are devasting to any dog or cat. My Vet told me, to try to do with less dye's as possible in her food and etc...
A struvite crystal alone will not cause a urethral obstruction and warrant the need for catheterization. Struvite crystals are microscopic and are only caused by the urine becoming too alkaline. This alkalinity is not commonly caused just by food, if at all. So it must have been a struvite stone if there was an obstruction. As for the "blood" in the urine the pets veterinarian would need to centrifuge the urine to discover wether it is red blood cells (either whole or burst) or another protein that can turn urine a reddish color. Most likely the veterinarian put your pet on a urinary acidifier or a Hills S/D diet followed by a maintenance diet to prevent the formation of new crystals.
I am confused..I used to give my dog rice and chicken...she became overweight and sick..I switched to royal Canin and it's been 2 years....no health issues..in fact she has become very active...But I worry after reading the comments that dog food causes cancer
You know they list the order of ingredients from most to least. Having small amounts of these items are fine, but they should never be in the top 5 ingredients. But it is incredibly hard to find dog food with out ANY of these ingredients without breaking bank or isn't completely wet. A complete wet food diet will cause the dog's teeth to weaken and often cause a lot dental issues later on in life. What i recommend is what you could do if you don't want to break bank or make your own dog food daily. If you don't have a high quality dry food, find a quality wet food ((ex. Nutro is a good brand)) and mix a little bit in with it.
My black lab has been on pedigree ever since she was a puppy. She now a 85 lb 4 year old fur ball of energy. She hunts, swims, and goes along on trail rides.
That's why I think all the pearl clutching over dog food ingredients is such a load of horse shit. I used to work for a vet and the best looking dog I've ever seen was fed Iams his whole life.
The dye in my dogs food has him rolling around grass yelling almost guy told me at feed store that it’s the dye in dog food that it making her get alerigic reaction that need to change her to food to all brown dog food
Basically almost every 'kibble' style dog food can contain plastic. In Australia the pet food companies 'self regulate' which they don't seem to have a problem with. The ear tags from sheep and cow heads get melted down when processing the heads into 'meal' - which is all you're getting when you feed kibble. Just feed raw - prey or barf. That way you know what's going in to their food.
I feed raw and wetfood for both my cats but i still hate the fact that my maid still give them kibble. The wet i use is basically chicken with fish broth but the fish broth has added animal extract from things such as liver and heart and it is the least processed wetfood i could feed to my cat since my cat couldn't eat raw but my other cat eats AAFCO allowed and BARF raw food
Please beware. My two chihuahua mix pups had off and on seizures for the first two years of their life. I spent so much money at the vets because they were getting sick. They tried almost every food at the grocery store. I was literally having a breakdown watching them suffer. I started doing research online. I immediately changed to a good quality dehydrated food for breakfast and Acana dry for the rest of the day. I make them their snacks now. Banana oatmeal cookies sometimes add peanut butter, steamed or baked sweet potatoes, are among their favorites. They get a Greenies dental chew at bedtime and they have been thriving and seizure free for a bit over a year now 😊🐶🐶
Organic coconut oil is also good for digestion and removing toxins from the body. I use it for myself all the time. Like a teaspoon a week for small dogs. A little Bragg's apple cider vinegar, shake well, in their water daily.
Our vet said to us stay away from pedigree and we followed it my dog are eating vitality for pellets special dog for wet food and and boiled chicken and we dont know if thats healthy
There is extremely little explanation for any of these items and most of them are poorly constructed or just flat out fallacious. I don’t see how the ingredients in meat meal are “disgusting” at all and I certainly don’t know how it is a low quality protein because you provided zero explanation. There wasn’t even any comment at all for by-products, just the definition was shown. I’d also like to point out that the AAFCO states that meat that is unidentified must consist of only cattle, pork, mutton/lamb, or goat, so it really isn’t all that “non-specific.” For ethoxyquin, those dog owners were presenting purely anecdotal evidence, which means nothing in the scientific community and study after study has shown ethoxyquin to be safe. And no, corn, wheat, and soy are no more likely to cause allergies than any other protein. A few decades ago, lamb based dog foods were used as unique protein sources by vets to dogs who were allergic to the more common chicken and beef. Everyone then thought that lamb was a godsend, superior protein source and dog food manufacturers started using it. Now, lamb is common and dogs are allergic to it. One protein isn’t more likely to cause allergies than others, it’s simply that they are more common so dogs have had more exposure. Cellulose is not only used as an emulsifier, it’s also a source of plant based fiber. Even if it was only an emulsifier, how does that negatively affect the pet? I have a feeling that separated, spoiled food is a whole lot more dangerous for a dog than cellulose. What do you even mean by “sodium?” Both humans and dogs would die if they didn’t consume sodium, it’s extremely important in bodily water regulation. Does the word “electrolyte” sound familiar? Yeah that’s salt. Too much salt may be bad, but pet foods are balanced to not include too much of any one nutrient. This is below 5th grade level argumentative writing, so please check your evidence and put just a little bit of thought into your reasoning before posting these videos.
Allison Koester and Mr Heisenberg Dogfoodsdvisor.com is a great site for complete breakdowns of foods. Most food shown are Pedigree and dogfoodadvisor.com lists it as a 1 star (crappiest) rating and they DO explain why and what controversial ingredients are in it.
Ingredients are actually a very poor indicator of quality in a pet food. Unlike human food, pet food must meet certain nutrient requirements established by the AAFCO, so every ingredient must play a role in meeting these requirements. Pets need nutrients, not ingredients, and good pet foods will not contain "good ingredients," but rather will have expertise in the field of animal nutrition, precise formulation, and proper quality control to ensure that their nutrient profiles meet the needs of the species and lifestage. Some companies may go above and beyond to conduct research into animal nutrition so that they can further tailor make their foods to fit various lifestyles. You can't just find this information by looking at a bag label, only by contacting the company and evaluating their replies can you decide which company does the best job at insuring proper nutrition. The WSAVA Global Nutrition Committee has some great questions to ask a company if you're curious: www.wsava.org/WSAVA/media/Arpita-and-Emma-editorial/Selecting-the-Best-Food-for-your-Pet.pdf I haven't done any research or asking around about Pedigree, so I'm unaware of how good their food is, but I don't think it's deserving of 1 stars out of 5. As long as it is complete and balanced and your pet does well on it, I think it's fine.
Allison Koester You’re exactly right. Corn gluten is not something to be afraid of unless you dog has a stomach condition like IBS or something like that. Rice can be a problem to dogs with allergies, but it is commonly used to help settle stomachs in pets. The color thing is true the dogs can’t see the color no reason to have colored kibble it’s just an additive that’s not necessary. However the rest of this is completely bogus. Don’t get your dogs food nutrition from a video on TH-cam. Go to a licensed vet and get the recommendations from them.
Allison Koester - who do you work for?? Sounds like your in complete denial. Do you have financial interests protecting these evil corporations that’s killing our animals. My God, even Monsanto’s scientists are basically admitting in private that GMO’s are dangerous to humans and animals. you cannot be that ignorant or just oblivious to the lies tied into large corporate greed.
My friends dog almost died from it's owner feeding it Ol Roy dog food. It became partially paralyzed and the vet advised them not to feed ol Roy dog food as it didn't have enough nutrients to keep a dog healthy!
Lauren I speak from experience here, as I used to care for certain hunting dogs who were NEVER fed Old Roy, but it was made to look as though they did, with lots of empty Old Roy bags kept in strategic places. They were NEVER fed that crap, it is not healthy for them. I fed those dogs very pricey dog food from a different company entirely. But Old Roy was NEVER, EVER given to the dogs it was supposedly named after.
Lauren I recommend you to tell your friend to do research of a " raw diet" it's soo much better and it's not kibble. Also something good for him to give him nutrients is you can give the dog some raw chicken feet, raw duck feet, raw Turkey neck, raw eggs, sardines, raw goats milk, blueberries, and so many more stuff it will help him. Also if your friend ever feeds her something that contains a bone please give it raw not cooked if it's raw it won't hurt him and it's easy too eat
The Blonde Solution get her bladder examined, might be something serious, vet lied to me, months later my baby passed(slowly and painfully cause he wouldnt help her) ,trying to keep the story short so will just leave it at that 😫💔
They feed them to cows and chickens too. It's repulsive to feed them to a herbivore like a cow but maybe beneficial for omnivores/carnivores. Not that kibble is at all good for pets.
Okay let me ask you this question if all that dog food is bad what do you supposed to feed them human food all the stuff that cost 50 bucks a bag and you only get 20 lb of it
thank god my baby doesn't eat any of this product. I tried giving her pedigree once but she didn't even touch it... I always give her home made dog food
Is Instinct Raw brand good? Just started using it for my 10 Labrador. I was feeding her pedigree but it was hard and disgusting and full of gluten and chemicals
Over winter my dog starved & thin on pedigree absolutely no food value in whole grain corn. How can they sell this? Dogs get 0 from grains. They need meat & vegetables. Spread awareness
I have noticed a trend lately RECALLS on all this grain free dog food. I have had dogs for over 50 years and this BS only started recently. All these treats boasting about meats as number 1 ingredient and they are being recalled.
Jerry DeWees the reason a majority of grain free foods are being recalled and making dogs sick because they are replacing grains with a high content of potatoes and legumes such as peas, beans and soy. instead of adding more meat they add legumes for protein, which is incredibly bad due to legumes being linked to heart disease. legumes block taurine absorption, so dogs on a "grain free" brand but packed with legumes and potatoes will have very low taurine levels which can lead to Dilated Cardiomyopathy in dogs. a grain free diet does not make dogs sick, a diet packed with legumes and potatoes is making these dogs sick which admittedly a lot of grain free based brands do have. the best you can do is research thoroughly and find a grain free brand that has zero legumes in it
ziwipeak is really expensive though and out of a lot of peoples budgets, honestly a raw meat diet is marginally cheaper and healthier for your dog. i was actually going to feed my dog ziwipeak but after looking at the prices i wouldn't be able to even afford to weeks worth of it, so i went raw instead. for $40 i can feed my dog for 2 weeks with meat, bones and offal as well as some veges on the side. if you have ethnic markets near you like chinese markets you can get offal like liver and other meat pretty cheap, it's also worth checking out your nearby butchers too.
actually I'd go with Blue Buffalo of Science Diet dog foods. Raw meat is not bad for dogs, they are related to the wolf. Ever hear of a carnivore in the wild besides man cooking its meat before eating it.
NickMueh blue buffalo is not a good dog food either it's been recalled and shit. Also one of the only dog foods that I find okay to feed it orijen, acana and maybe taste of the wild. But I mostly recommend to feed your dog a raw diet it's so much better
Not trying to be mean but, I give my French Mastiff pedigree dog food but she's alright. She has eaten it since childhood and now she's 2 years old.We have had veterinary check ups of her. She's perfectly fine with it.Actually the veterinarian said that SOME dogs a Allergic to gluten while some are NOT.
Rice is fine for dogs in small amounts. They need carbs too which if they were wild would get from their natural food source. Raw feed is the answer.... while mixing in carbs. Video other than that is pretty accurate.
note it needs to be brown rice that isn't "instant" it works fine for them. Far as foods labeled with it, Victor Lamb meal and rice seems pretty good to me...
Soy isn't particularly healthy for obligate carnivorous animals. But for humans, forms of soy like tofu can be a very healthy staple assuming your not allergic. Soy is a complete protein and its low in fat and cholesterol. Like many plant foods it has phytoestrogens (plant estrogen that's different then human estrogen) that are harmless unless you eat more than 12 servings a day which is obnoxious and nearly impossible. And organic non gmo tofu is readily available at most grocery stores. Japan eats the highest consumption of soy and they have the oldest people alive.
Ok I understand this .. so what dog food is safe? I have a Chihuahua that was badly treated by previous owners, he will not eat the dog food I have .. it's 2 of the ones in this videos, so I'll throw them out.. what be the one I should buy.??
Human grade Raw Food prepared at home is the best option for an obligate carnivore like a cat. I freeze meat like Kangaroo, Chicken and Pork in the freezer for 2-3 weeks before I defrost in the fridge to feed to my cat. That kills any bacteria if any in the raw meat. If doing the raw diet for your kitty it has to be balanced. I add human grade meal completers for my kitty to get 80% muscle meat, 10% ground bone, 5% liver and 5% secreting organs into each of her meals. She is a picture of health these days and her fur is so soft. Meal Completers can certainly make a difference in making sure you are serving your cat a balanced diet and you do not have to do all the hard work grinding stuff up.
Barbara Vick it actually does, put the raw meat in the freezer for about 3 days and uh yeh dead. Also it's very rare for dogs to get sick from salmonella
Pet food companies only want to make as much money as possible from you, this is the same for vets, if they can get people to bring animals in for checkups , that there is no,call for, that is an extra £40 or £50.00 pounds into their pockets, I have a story here to tell, I sometimes mind an elderly dog, the owners love him to bits, now the vet says the wee dog has kidney and bowel problems. He is sick very often ,and vomits. When I mind him, and take care off him, he has never been sick once, I feed him the same as my own wee dogs, minced meet raw. He eats it up, runs about the garden with my wee dogs, and has never been sick once. THE owners leave tablets for him in case of sickness, the name of their vet, I have never needed to take hm to the vet. The vet has proscribed him the most expensive food you can give a dog, where do you buy this food of the vet. FEED RAW MEET, a dogs natural food, if he was in the wild as nature intended, he would make kills, and he would be eating raw meet. The pet food industry uses food, from the inners of animals, not used or humans. hair skin bones, hoofs horns. Chicken legs the throw away products. Now this is not all bad. But work out the prices charged and it is not far off best butchers meet. Greetings from Northern Ireland.
I stop buying dog food since a pet store clerk told me the dog food is not good. Now I cook my dog food, ground meat with vegetables and rice. she enjoys it. cheaper and healthier. you can cook for a week or a few days straight.
I would like to see a list of good dog food. in the meantime, I buy fresh intestinal meat and cook it for my two dogs. it is heavy ( 400gr per day each, someone has to bring it from the market, and that's me) and stinky when cooked. I just add some cheap vegetable, like 10%. I would love to have a break sometimes, but I don't want them to eat harmful dry food.
Applaws a dog food brand i buy for my dog is really good. All natural ingrexients. Just chicken, fish and some veggies. I I usually cook brown rice and give her some with her food with some turmeric added in. Sometimes I'll add cucumber and some brocoli to her food as well. She loves her veggies.
After watching this video clip...i am wondering that what kind of food shld i gve to my fur babies🤔 we let them ate rice...mixed wth dog food...chicken liver...grilled chicken...pork....fish....😢

Thank you
Rice has nothing bad for them jeeez
Thank you! You are my dream dog saver!!! I'm buying a dog later!
No wonder dogs love home cooked foods than kibbles.
Pedigree dog food seems to be just garbage in a bag.

Pedigree is actually good dog food.. believe it or not, animals are smarter than people as far as eating is concerned...
After what you have learned here then YOU eat it!
Pedigree is pure garbage, as is anything Purina.
Mytexas1 I agree! I've used that food for all my dogs. Never had a problem. I did get a recall on Iams before with my first dog. Also my dogs all lived beyond their years. I'd recommend it to everyone that has a healthy dog!
Tears! I am going raw for My Beautiful Service Working dogs!
Just feed your animal what their wild ancestors eat. Saying otherwise is just to keep these companies in business.
Wow this was an eye opener didn’t realize some of these ingredients were in my puppy’s food switching him to farmers dog
Wonderful video , thank you very much 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
GREAT!!!! NOW that I Know I'm Killing my Dogs by feeding them..... WHAT THE HELL ARE OWNERS SUPPOSE TO FEED THEM!!??!!
Thank you for this eye opening video, Great information.
Pat Goodman
good information but the most obnoxious music! Couldn't watch to the end!
Poor baby snowflake. How do you cope? Go to your safe space, hurry.
You can mute the video.
Good information!! Turn your volume off!! No more problem!
Turn off the sound.
Just turn off the volume. It isn’t hard.
I hate it when people say companies wouldn't be making these products if they hurt pets, but the truth is most companies just want money
video shared.....Did you know some pet foods are labeled 'packaged in Canada' but, the ingredients can come from anywhere? Do yo know single serving (in disposable plastic dishes) can either not seal properly, have the seal broken in shipping or......poked with a sharp object like a needle? Then bacteria sets in and you will never see it. Remember back in the day or pets ate what we ate and lived....and lived much longer??? We have found a supply of raw/scrap meat and now cook or own. We can using good old mason jars or freeze the home cooked product.Saving money, time, health and needless heart break. We shy away from wild game since learning about 'wasting disease'.
Can you do a video on healthy foods?
Hahaha fucken pansie
But dogs can eat rice!
It's really quite amusing to me that we freak at dog food ingredients when the same crap is in our food, yet we still devour it in copious amounts.
ROYAL CANIN HAS ALL OF THESE BUT VETS RECOMMEND IT ANYWAYS. WHY DO PEOPLE IGNORE ROYAL CANIN
Katie Cox royal canine contains chicken by product...basically road kill and disgusting. Vets are like doctors and prescribe things that are unsafe right? It's all about the money...
lol yea i know right nerena m
Royal canine is moe costliest food for dogs
nerena m Very corrupt.
Katie Cox it's costly
i noticed they are basically all done buy "purina" dog food
Graham Berryman hi if you go to Facebook Purina Community page read on that
Purina owns a lot of brands that's why
um, we in my family when we have a heart burn take a half to one teaspoon of sodium and blend it with water in a glass and drink it, cause sodium is acid and it works against acid in the stomach. So it relieves our heart burns. Non of us have ever gotten any sort of cancer. But okay
Edit: oh nvm my english sucks, I mean we use baking soda lol not Sodium sorreeey.... Or is it the same??
I agree with all but the rice. Yes it's a filler but humans eat rice as a filler everyday.
Just make sure the tinned food you buy is majority made out of meat and avoid the other toxic ingredients
P.S if you know more/better than me please feel free to say
I firmly deem that
fresh food may be good for dog.
Thank you for this video, I got my dog's dog food, and circled every bad ingredient on there. I was going to switch the dog food, but now i'm definitely going to switch my dog's food.
Well most dog foods contain at least one of these ingredients, they should post the dog food brands that don't contain those ingredients.
Allison Koester. Where was the Chinese manufacture located? You believe what you want to believe. You are entitled to that.
Peace
Mary F Richardson The wheat gluten manufacturer was Xuzhou Anying Biologic Technology Development Co. Ltd., located in the Jiangsu province (East China near Shanghai).
Mary F Richardson why blame everything on the chinese? It's the greedy american corporations that are killing your dogs, not the chinese. You need to get a grip.
XXCCC85XX. You are Correct. Greedy corporation. I was a little harsh.
Peace
Feed raw diet for carnivores not these food pellets
Or Fresh Pet or a home made diet or mix it up sometimes. And as for kibble make sure it's heavily meat based.
Omnivores
@@thegraveyardshift7625 dogs are carnivores
My dad's old dog almost died from a vet regulated raw diet so yeah no
@@atmospheriicx cats are carnivores. Dogs are omnivores. They eat both meat and fruits in the wild. Cats eat all meat and occasionally some grass for fiber
So if all these foods are so kind of bad cuz I've seen these ingredients in even the dog foods that are supposed to be good what are you supposed to feed your dog then
Literally just turn your volume down 🤷
Better yet, turn it off and watch something else.
😂🤣I was thinking what an irritating video......
I can't read THAT fast. Eliminate the annoying background 'music' and replace it with a narrator. I have to silence many video's 'music'. It's not necessary.
If you don’t care about your pets then get offf this video these stuff are actually BAD for your pets
Galaxy cake girl yes this stuff is complete garbage
Great informative video. Sad that they use our pets to pawn off extra materials that would be garbage, otherwise, pure greed. Have to wonder if it is one of the factors contributing to more cancer and allergies in pets
Ok im verry confused becase my dogs dockter told me to feed her chicken and rice when she is throwing up......
As my dog has gotten older, she can't handle a lot of dyes in her food or treats. The Vet said, the dyes are devasting to any dog or cat. My Vet told me, to try to do with less dye's as possible in her food and etc...
My dog got a atruvite crystal.because of pedigree. He suffered painful urination with blood w/c he need to undergo catether procedure .
Struvite crystal
Rea Dela Cruz what is that?
Cancer is caused by many things Including vaccines give way to often
Doc has suggested Purina Supercoat Adult for my dog is it fine !?
Sharon Remund thank you!
Greenies aren't good for them.
TheWolfspirit22 really? Omgoodness I was just about to restock. Thank you so much!
It’s really a sad situation. The FDA finally admitted that a lot of dog foods have the euthanasia drug in them from euthanized animals!
I feed my pup Beef Pro, but after 6 months.. He stopped eating it. We switched to rice and cooked meat. He goes crazy over it.
Thank youuuu thus helped so much
Corn does not contain gluten, genius. Still avoid this empty filler, but get your facts straight as to why.
Orijen best dry dog food I could recommend to anyone!
I would like to see the science as there has been a lot of negative (untrue) statements made regarding gluten
What about brands like Science Diet? I ask about that one because I always see it vets offices.
Allison Koester I really did feel like I was watching a video made by a 13 year old
Allison Koester and Mr Heisenberg Dogfoodsdvisor.com is a great site for complete breakdowns of foods.
The WSAVA Global Nutrition Committee has some great questions to ask a company if you're curious: www.wsava.org/WSAVA/media/Arpita-and-Emma-editorial/Selecting-the-Best-Food-for-your-Pet.pdf
I haven't done any research or asking around about Pedigree, so I'm unaware of how good their food is, but I don't think it's deserving of 1 stars out of 5.
Lauren
I speak from experience here, as I used to care for certain hunting dogs who were NEVER fed Old Roy, but it was made to look as though they did, with lots of empty Old Roy bags kept in strategic places. They were NEVER fed that crap, it is not healthy for them.
I fed those dogs very pricey dog food from a different company entirely.
But Old Roy was NEVER, EVER given to the dogs it was supposedly named after.
I wonder if that company's owner feeds it to his dogs!
Also if your friend ever feeds her something that contains a bone please give it raw not cooked if it's raw it won't hurt him and it's easy too eat
skinny legend
I generally agree with you but for my dog i cant feed too much protein or she gets urinary leaks.
The Blonde Solution get her bladder examined, might be something serious, vet lied to me, months later my baby passed(slowly and painfully cause he wouldnt help her) ,trying to keep the story short so will just leave it at that 😫💔
Down vote because I need narration. I listen to this getting ready for work in the morning. Who has time to sit down and read?
So what food provide my dog .tell me? Or smart heart good food hurmfull or healthy for my lab breed dog?
Souvick Kirtania 4 health is a good dog food get it at tractor supply
I found poultry feathers powder in pedigree ingredients. They are leaked after i opened the expired pedigree. Poultry feathers i found in the kibbles
They feed them to cows and chickens too. It's repulsive to feed them to a herbivore like a cow but maybe beneficial for omnivores/carnivores. Not that kibble is at all good for pets.
Honestly I always fed my my auntie’s dogs veggies and some fish for protein, cooked of course
Could somebody help Me ? Which food has more purine content ? and please tell me the food that I should avoid giving my dobberman ?
Thank you 😊
Okay let me ask you this question if all that dog food is bad what do you supposed to feed them human food all the stuff that cost 50 bucks a bag and you only get 20 lb of it
Oh!what video editor do You use
thank god my baby doesn't eat any of this product. I tried giving her pedigree once but she didn't even touch it... I always give her home made dog food
Is Instinct Raw brand good? Just started using it for my 10 Labrador. I was feeding her pedigree but it was hard and disgusting and full of gluten and chemicals
Yes it is very good
For the natural can they use dog natural litter?
Where's the link at I don't see it
What l want to know is which are the best dog foods that are healthy and safe tell us that.
4:00 the package says NO artificial flavors lmfao
Over winter my dog starved & thin on pedigree absolutely no food value in whole grain corn.
How can they sell this?
Dogs get 0 from grains. They need meat & vegetables.
Spread awareness
I have noticed a trend lately RECALLS on all this grain free dog food. I have had dogs for over 50 years and this BS only started recently. All these treats boasting about meats as number 1 ingredient and they are being recalled.
Jerry DeWees 💯
Jerry DeWees
the reason a majority of grain free foods are being recalled and making dogs sick because they are replacing grains with a high content of potatoes and legumes such as peas, beans and soy. instead of adding more meat they add legumes for protein, which is incredibly bad due to legumes being linked to heart disease. legumes block taurine absorption, so dogs on a "grain free" brand but packed with legumes and potatoes will have very low taurine levels which can lead to Dilated Cardiomyopathy in dogs. a grain free diet does not make dogs sick, a diet packed with legumes and potatoes is making these dogs sick which admittedly a lot of grain free based brands do have. the best you can do is research thoroughly and find a grain free brand that has zero legumes in it
If you want grain free (which people should) go for something like ZIWI. It's expensive but brilliant.
ziwipeak is really expensive though and out of a lot of peoples budgets, honestly a raw meat diet is marginally cheaper and healthier for your dog. i was actually going to feed my dog ziwipeak but after looking at the prices i wouldn't be able to even afford to weeks worth of it, so i went raw instead. for $40 i can feed my dog for 2 weeks with meat, bones and offal as well as some veges on the side. if you have ethnic markets near you like chinese markets you can get offal like liver and other meat pretty cheap, it's also worth checking out your nearby butchers too.
All dog food is bad for your dogs I cook my dogs food everyday
Tammie Broggins raw meat is also bad for them?
Salmonella ? E. Colli?
Actual nutro is a very good brand, my dog that's a mix of shithzu toy poodle likes it☺
Yeah bruh, I just don’t feed them anything at all. Starvation is healthier than all those toxins.
actually I'd go with Blue Buffalo of Science Diet dog foods.
Animal Lover she is still young its a horrible dog food
Rice is my dogs daily meal
Great Video
Rice is fine for dogs in small amounts. They need carbs too which if they were wild would get from their natural food source. Raw feed is the answer.... while mixing in carbs. Video other than that is pretty accurate.
note it needs to be brown rice that isn't "instant" it works fine for them. Far as foods labeled with it, Victor Lamb meal and rice seems pretty good to me...
Then which brand food should we give to a dog
Soy isn't particularly healthy for obligate carnivorous animals. But for humans, forms of soy like tofu can be a very healthy staple assuming your not allergic. Soy is a complete protein and its low in fat and cholesterol. Like many plant foods it has phytoestrogens (plant estrogen that's different then human estrogen) that are harmless unless you eat more than 12 servings a day which is obnoxious and nearly impossible. And organic non gmo tofu is readily available at most grocery stores. Japan eats the highest consumption of soy and they have the oldest people alive.
Purina supercoat is good for dog sir.. Pls answer me
is royal canin good?
Yes but not all royal canin are good. Consult your vet
they tryna give my dog the ole pedigree from wwe lmao
Well, after 34 years in the pet food business, I can say about half of those are correct.
There is pretty much what every human is eating too!!! ? So we should change our food habit before we go to our pets!!!!

Please what do you think about biljack dog food?
BlueBay Blues
Freezing does NOT kill bacteria.
