I wonder why Conrad didn't bring up the fact that DDP's wife at the time Kimberly was way hotter than Sarah Callaway. No one believed that DDP would stalk Sara for the sake of stalking. It would have made more sense if Sara had a certain kink that DDP liked and he couldn't get it from his wife. Otherwise this angle is what we see it as; a burial because he was over in WCW and you can't make a WCW guy "a guy" until he goes through the ringer and then eventually he gets over. Case in point Booker T.
100% do an Evolution reign of terror episode. SummerSlam 02 - Mania 21. Include all the HHH heat, the rise of Orton & Batista and make it a 4 hour episode.
Welp, that’s it. After the rendition of Billy Gunn’s theme in this episode, this show has to have peaked. I see no way Bruce or Conrad can top that. Props fellas.
Would love an episode dedicated to Triple H on Raw from post Summerslam 2002 to ~2004/2005 whereby he BURIES almost everyone (featuring some "highlights" as the Katie Vick angle, Booker T (people like you) and Eugene schenanigans Actually, Eugene would be a good topic for an episode too. And Billy & Chuck.
It built him up as an amazing heel though for Orton/Batista and Benoit to build from. Hell between Mania from 2004 and Unforgiven (post Summerslam) Trips didn't hold the title once. And the annoying part is the ones who hate on that heelish run wanted everyone to go over (RVD, Booker T, Steiner, Goldberg in the chamber, Kane etc...). He wasn't supposed to win anyone of those feuds in their minds. Compared to LOLCENAWINS runs his were actually enjoyable.
I don't understand everyone's issue with it. He was the top guy on raw. He SHOULD have beaten all those people. With the exception of booker t at mania. Nash was leaving and was garbage, Steiner couldn't work for shit anymore, he put Goldberg over despite Goldberg being exposed for being AWFUL Rvd just wasn't too guy material yet. He was in his prime. Aside from booker they did the right thing. That was HIS YEAR. As it should have been. Even then he still put over Hogan, Benoit, he elevated Orton but Orton's attitude hurt him, then the next year he put over Batista. People are ridiculous.
It would be unbearable, Bruce would just defend everything and kiss up to Triple H and say the usual bullshit that if you didn't like it you don't get it.
I have TH-cam red yet for some reason every time I'm listening to something to wrestle when I turn my screen off it shuts the video down.. literally ONLY happens on this channel..anyone else having the same issue?
There is a quick fix for that go to setting open your WiFi and then submerge your phone in room temperature water for minimum 45 minutes. Turn off your WiFi turn it back on and you never have that problem again. You’re welcome.
That Johnny Ace impression never gets old. Love Bruce doing Ace firing Taylor over the phone. Loving this episode. It was a very interesting time and the stuff with Piper and Vince's HBO interview was a great listen.
This was a good episode. It was interesting to hear the back story that lead to Venegance 2003. Sable and Stephanie told a damn good story. Sable and Stephanie went at each other hard and I couldnt believe it was an actual damn good match even though it was label a CATFIGHT. When I hear Catfight I think of The Kat and Terri Runnels and they try to strip each other to their bra and panties. I think Vince really had high praises of Zach or wanted him to be safe in his debut match cause why else would he want to fight Zach. If Zach was supposed to be a sideshow, I am sure they didnt think he would last 18 months or still be in the business 15 years later.
I know that Owen Hart was a very good guy irl and I know that the botched piledriver on Austin in 1997 was an accident, but basically it's his fault that Austin had to retire from the ring early.
John Jandoh: That's true... If Conrad wants to shit on Goldberg for botching a kick and ending Bret's career, we've gotta stick to the facts. Owen did the same thing to Stone Cold.
Ehhh not too sure about that as Austin went on to wrestle another 5 years.. Bret was done within months. Not fair to blame owen to that extreme over ending SCSA career
Robert Torres Actually it is because that left Austin with long term neck problems which caused him to be just a brawler for the most part. But before that he was doing lots of proper wrestling moves as you can see by his great matches with Bret and others. Ultimately it was his neck which forced him to hang up his boots.
I'm 10 minutes into the show and I can already agree with Conrad as far as the mentality of thinking / assuming WWE always treated WCW guys like s*** because they weren't Vince's creation and honestly that type of thought popped into my head when I was 14 which was 93-94. The one thing that always bothered me which I can say is a perfect example is why couldn't Barry Windham just be Barry Windham in the WWE why did he have to be a widow-maker or a Stalker? He was already a former member of The Horseman when he had the Widowmaker gimmick. I feel WCW gave a damn about the other Windham's family more than WWE did when they him Barry under contract. I shake my head at Survivor Series 96 like you're a former member of The Four Horsemen and they got you looking like GI Joe.
young17ish Because not everyone has to like him, he is biased and finally people who have been in the business longer and knows more like Bruce Pritchard and Eric Bischoff are calling him out in his hearsay bullshit that Marks like you worship and can't stand the fact that Bruce Pritchard and Eric Bischoff are catching him in lies and fake shit. He is biased and caters To his favorites....And please with all BS about him being in the business for 30 years and a journalist, there was meny journalist at the time and before Dave Meltzer. Bruce Pritchard has been a part of pro wrestling since 1972, as a kid and worked in the territories and part huge historic eras. Eric has been apart of pro wrestling since 1987. So they know just as much. Only a virgin mark would defend him.
Bruce, splitting hairs. "What about Steve Austin? Chris Jericho? Big Show?". Well for one, they were not considered "WCW guys" in 2001 since they had left WCW to WWF years before WCW invaded.. We clearly weren't talking about the WCW guys that jumped ship and drank the Kool-Aid. We we're clearly talking about the faces of WCW.. Sting, DDP, Goldberg, NWO, and (by the way) Booker T who you did bury his first year in the company... So you can bend over for Vince McMahon all you want Bruce, but either you are absolutely fucking clueless about what fans wanted to see, or you purposefully buried them. Considering the booking for WCW stars has aways been absolute shit, I'm not sure what you have been trying to defend, but it failed and you can't say "we know what the WWF fans wanted" and then turn around and say "we we're trying to bury WCW guys... but fuck WCW and it legacy". You can't have it both ways and then go in on the fans for calling you out about. If you don't want to take responsibility for fucking up WCW guys, stop talking out of both side of your mouth dickhead.
Sting I'll agree with you on. But goldberg would've been shit on by the fans in wwe eventually due to his lack of skills and personality. DDP was good but not great. NWO was never going to work in WWE. The seams were tearing apart before they got to WWE. Nash,Hogan, or Razor wouldve fucked it up eventually. This is only my opinion though. Maybe I'm wrong but that's how I saw it
You're right, who wants to watch flops like Hogan, Goldberg, and DDP when you have charismatic super athletes like Batista, Roman Reigns, and John Cena? 😂😂😂
Shame they didn't talk about the very random segment of Cena smacking Stephanie's ass in the buildup to this show, especially since Prichard said in this video that he was pretty much the head writer of smackdown at this point
Vengeance 2003 was a DAMN good PPV. Cena vs.Taker, Kidman/Mysterio vs. Haas/ Benjamin & the main event was even great. Hell Smackdown from September 2002-2003 was a damn good period
the word "MARK " comes from the carni language meaning "customer" and they use to look at the crowd and find one with alot of money and MARK him with a chalk hand print on their back. Now I'm a former pro wrestler and we call each other MARK from time to time and we don't take offence to it because 99% of us wouldn't be wrestlers if we were not marks for the business. 🤨🤪👍
young17ish mullet??? Okay, are you mad?...that Bruce and Eric are finally exposing Dave Meltzer as a biased mark. They were there and they experienced it, you weren't there? They were part of history and worked in those companies and witnessed it, and saw it, they know waaay more then any of us do. Because we never worked for any company in pro wrestling. We were just fans. I'll take their truths then a fan or anyone else since they were actually there and has been around the territories and the big major pro wrestling companies. Bruce has been in the business since he was kid in the early 70s. So he knows way more then any smart mark. Idk how you think he lies because he was actually was there and was part of those times and moments, in the thick of it.
June giovani, how you know he’s not lying since you weren’t there? It’s simple to me, either you like Bruce and believe what he says or you question what he is saying and don’t care much for him. I chose not to believe his shit and not like him. Oh and where did I mention Dave In my first post? You must be a Dave hater?
young17ish Yup Dave Meltzer lies his ass off too, and his very biased and people are finally seeing though his bullshit. Like I said I will believe anyone who was there and experience it because wrestlers and people who were there back in the day have already confirmed that Bruce was telling the truth. He is telling it from his perspective and his experience, not what the Marks want, all you marks want him to do is bash WWE and hear what you want to hear. Sorry I believe him because he was actually present and there....Like I said we weren't there and never experienced it. I see your a Dave mark also.
liam Royce liam he's basing his heritage on his sure name. "Home of the Prichard clan" well no, that's wrong. He may well have Irish family. In fact I'd put big money on him having Irish family as he lives in America and Irish was one of the largest migrant nations to that country at one time or another over it's history
God is seriously the most ridiculous concept. It's a fairy tale. Still can't be proven 2000+ years later. Bible is full or immoral acts from God, scientific errors, and rewards gullibility. The Bible is a joke haha.
Bruce was always a WWE apologist, But ever since he has got back within their good graces its become egregious. And now its fuck us because we didn't cotton to his DDP comments or he means fuck Dave Meltzer or he means Insert trite impression. Fuck it. I'll stick w/ WHW.
Bruce always lies his ass off about WWE and any negative effects on their performers . Piper was right when it comes to so many people, they use them up and when they have squeezed every drop of money out of their character they throw them away. It's happened to so many in the business and yes some of the guys are responsible but so is WWE. You take Owen Hart for instance who died and the greedy bastard didn't even stop the show. If that doesn't show the type of person McMahon is then nothing will.
Man, what is it with WWE guys saying look in the mirror when it comes to drugs, but they won't blame wrestling for Owen Hart? WWE didn't ask you to take drugs...well WWE DID ask Owen to climb on top of the rafters above the ring and jump off! If you want people to take responsibility, stop dodging your own.
And lost his job for it. WWE never said "the office wants you to do this line of coke". Bruce said as much himself. Jumping from the ceiling? Different story.
Damian Cross Oh please WWE didn't do shit, It was Vince Russo that talked him into it. Vince McMahon didn't even want him to do it and he even did him self to make sure it's okay, but Vince kept on pressuring him Because Vince Russo came up with that spot, it was his idea. It was a fucking accident, move on. His siblings and family have moved on a forgave. They knew it was a tragic accident, if He die there, He would have somewhere else, it was his time to go. He was a grown man he had a choice, he can easily go to WCW or make money else where. Let's blame WWE on all deaths....some died in car crashes and some cancer. Some wrestled and damaged there bodies and head from other promotions and then went to WWE. It's called personal responsibility. A lot of wrestler worked for other promotions when they died yet WWE gets blamed. It's ridiculous.
Shame they didn't talk about the very random segment of Cena smacking Stephanie's ass in the buildup to this show, especially since Prichard said in this video that he was pretty much the head writer of smackdown at this point
This is an underrated show. 03 was the best year in Smackdown history.
Starts at 16:58
Bruce getting hot at the DDP rehash in the beginning was great, cause Conrad and us fans were right about DDPs wwe run.
Pearljam313 McMahon hates DDP because he saved Roberts and Hall and there’s no way Stephanie can get any credit.
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - Mary Jane's Last Dance

WWE fail - shouldn't be WWF
Who fucking gives a shit
Nekkid
Man, what is it with WWE guys saying look in the mirror when it comes to drugs, but they won't blame wrestling for Owen Hart? WWE didn't ask you to take drugs...well WWE DID ask Owen to climb on top of the rafters above the ring and jump off! If you want people to take responsibility, stop dodging your own.
Damian Cross owen could've said no.
Never thought about it like that, good point.
Vince Russo made him do it. Well who was Vince Russo working for?! Jfc...
Anything after 1999 sucked ass. Wrestling is terrible now

Shame they didn't talk about the very random segment of Cena smacking Stephanie's ass in the buildup to this show, especially since Prichard said in this video that he was pretty much the head writer of smackdown at this point
