And you know why? Because neither were in peak physical shape. Austin/Hogan when both were in their prime would have tore the house down. I'd also like to add that Hogan in his day could work. He wouldn't have been endorsed by Hiro Matsuda otherwise. In fact no trainer, in any reputable school, would endorse anyone they thought would expose the business with poor work ability. Just that fact alone (and it is a fact) tells you all you need to know about Hogan.

themadrapper101 I agree with all this except 2 points: Cena did kill the Attitude Era, Lesnar didn't. Lesnar's style would have been perfect for the Attitude Era. Austin trying to turn heel also helped kill the Attitude Era because it turned off a lot of fans of Austin from 97 to 01, so even though he was on top, it wasn't the same Austin.
What has really hurt WWE more than anything, in my opinion, is not having any competition. The sole reason the "attitude" era even existed is because WCW was putting soooo much heat on WWE.
Cena's Doctor of Thuganomics gimmick was pure Attitude era, so for that matter was Ege's Rated-R superstar, Viscera's world's largest sex machine.(they were in essence a re-packaging of Val Venis and Mark Henry's Sexual Chocolate gimmicks). Katie Vick, the Live Sex Show and the Billy and Chuck Marriage would not seem out of place on Raw in 98. Heidenriech raping Michael Cole? I'm sure Russo has had multiple concussions from slapping himself on the head screaming "why didn't I come op with that?" Essentially put, the "ruthless aggression" era was Attitude with a different name for marketing purposes so it really ended in 2008 when the WWE went P.G.
1) The company being changed to WWE Spring 2002 has nothing to do with it, WWF/E was having legal battles with the World Wildlife Fund way back in early 1998, so the WWF could have been changed to WWE in the 90's.

I was at WM 18 11 months before , and at this one in Montreal also... And I must say, this was a better show than WM 18. Other than Rock/Hogan 1, WM 18 just didn't feel special at all. This show here was AWESOME. The Austin/Bischoff massacre was one of the most fun segments I have EVER seen. Basically what Cole/Lawler at WM 27 SHOULD have been.
Justin R why way to hedge your bets and take a stand. Just a little hint something can’t be the greatest thing ever and then save for something else… It’s either the fucking greatest thing ever or it’s second to the fucking thing that you’re saving for.
I get Austin's reasoning for not wanting to give Hogan the time or day and he had a tight relationship with the Rock but come on, so close to a Hogan vs Austin WrestleMania after being denied the year prior.

Usually pay per views in the month of February like No way out are boring as hell cause they are filler for mania but this one kicked ass. To me this felt like a mania. The stories were told in all the matches perfectly from top to bottom. It was a smooth show and the match placement was correctly. My favorite part was JR celebrating like a school boy on Christmas seeing Bishoff getting his ass kicked by Austin. You dont know if it was real or story but it was that good.
Also, Bruce's impression of Paul Heyman sounds more like the family Guy character Bertram. the younger brother of Stewie that was inside Peter. Little redhead. Sounds more like him than Heyman haha and steve Chamberlain, the wrong hire, used to come hang out at the school and shows I was on.he's one of the nicest guys and he runs a charity that helps get prosthetics for children. I love Chamberlain. Awesome awesome guy and hearing the story from him was sad.
Blows me away how washed up and over the hill Hogan was by this point. Didn't matter. He was soooo over. He was just as over in '03 as he was 15 yrs prior.
Dey knight because he has to sound like he’s adding something to the conversation. It’s kinda only in wrestling where you find fans talk like that… Imagine if somebody watching the NFL was to be like I can’t believe how old and washed up Tom Brady is what is still winning Super Bowl’s… Because most sports fans don’t have the inferiority complex that wrestling fans tend to have… Like we get it you know Hulk Hogan’s age. None of us are “blown away” by the wrestling knowledge of other fans but that doesn’t stop them from thinking one day it might get a pop.

Bring meee to liiife, Even though This was Scott’s Final wwe ppv main event, this was an amazing show in what was my opinion the best era, Ruthless Aggression.
The problem with ruthless aggression is it birthed the PG era. Which killed wrestling. Thats why the attitude era will always be the best era. It was awesome and it birthed the ruthless aggression era 😆
Robert Johnson he got the hurricane over? Yeah cuz no one cared about the hurricane before then and he was like a main eventer after that. Oh wait your full of shit.
Also no that wasn't brother love's last appearance. His last appearance was in the APA bar fight at the first smackdown ppv vengence later that year. That match also I believe had eugene's debut playing the doink role.
The mammory gland shit is common to have removed. The rock had it. It's caused by gynecomastia and some people can produce milk. but it's a lump under the nipple. If you notice the rock before like the 99 rumble where he wore a t-shirt, he had gyno bad. That's why he was wearing a t-shirt because he had had the surgery to remove the gyno. Heath Slater had it, and a handful of others. some people are just more susceptible to gyno than others. I had a little issue with it but it was never bad like some of those guys. I never needed surgery. I just had to stay lean. it's not even noticeable now. Unless I get fat haha. When I gain weight every year cuz I get lazy it's a little noticeable but that's mostly cuz I gain weight. Just happens sometimes. But as long as I stay in the gym you don't notice it at all. Different people have different reactions. But that surgery is relatively common.
I love your podcast, best ever. But yhy do you Conrad so often try to portray Hogan in a bad light. The story about Hogan wanting to have his headband back from a young Dwayne Johnson at MSG is a prime example. You never told how it ended.
Cause hogan is kinda a dick . Jessie tried to start a union and hulk ratted him out cause even tho wrestlers would be better off Hogan’s dollar would be effected .
Hearing Bruce take up for the absolute bullshit that Bob Holly did on tough enough is sickening. “I’ve got a great idea to teach these youngsters how to be a better wrestler and perform at a level that’s entertaining for the fans.. I’m going to beat the absolute fuck out of them!” Then onto the Goldberg stuff-Goldberg knew what was up. The reason why he may have said that he didn’t want to job to Brock or Hunter is because he knew damn well that those were the two people they were looking to job him out to the most as quick as they could. Why in the hell would it make sense for him to come in to that company to be nerfed and watered down, when the character he was made him a multimillionaire....and let’s not pretend like it’s still wasn’t completely over with the audience. Nobody but diehard Goldberg haters wanted to see him come into the company and put on Goldust wig and be jobbed out and made to look like “just one of the boys”. He was and still is a legitimate star ...why the hell wouldn’t he or anybody else look out for themselves and their livelihood. It’s not like he was some old veteran way past his prime burying younger talent. He was in the best shape he was ever in at that time and was only going to get better if they had put in the time and effort. Yes they immediately gave him a win over the Rock... but everything they did with him after that with the exception of a few shining moments made it pretty clear. They had no intention for Goldberg to be GOLDBERG,and most of the audience and Goldberg himself could see that fairly quickly-that’s why he didn’t resign.
If Scott Steiner was physically past the point of a decent match in 2003, WHY THE ACTUAL FUCK is he on Impact 15 years later? Dear God, it takes him forever to just get up off the mat after a standard maneuver, not even a bump! WHY.
Funny to listen back to this and have Bruce talk about Goldberg and say "What good does it do the company if he comes in for a year and beats everybody and then leaves?"...and yet that's what Ronda Rousey did haha...came in for a year, beat almost everybody...lost her last match and hasn't been seen in WWE since.
If you didn't understand what Bruce was saying as it pertains to HHH, you're just an H hater (CONRAD). Bruce was absolutely right, IF it's being looked at objectively.
I hate bidets. Lol, I replaced my toilet bc I'm not a fan. lol. Give me some dude wipes and I'm good. ;p Yes, dude wipes is what they're called (not baby wipes). I'm not talking about Rob Dydek's either. haha
This was almost like a wrestlemania ish ppv minus Austin facing eric bischoff. I am suprised vince was not into facing bischoff on ppv that to me would've been a bigger wrestlemania match than Hogan/vince
James Wood exactly and also I felt like the ruthless aggression era had more dark stuff then the attitude era. I mean you had Hunter having sex in a coffin and Dawn and Torrie having a lesbian scene in a hotel room. You had HLA. Billy and Chuck. And edge and lita having a live sex session on Raw.
Any other wrestling fans kinda glad we didnt get Hogan Vs Austin? Lets be honest as much as Hogan put wrestling on the map back in the day, he couldnt lace Austins boots in the ring. Hogan Vs HBK was bad enough 😂
@@thaterasound A lot of people didnt take it seriously. Hbk was right to make a mockery of Hogan trying to politic wins over guys who can run rings round him. Its ridiculous to even think an old timer like Hogan could beat the younger guys with a few punches, big boot & a leg drop. Hogan should of got over his own hype years before this
Well when hbk admits that he was purposely over selling to make hogan look like shit because they were supposed to go 3 matches shawn suggested he win the first and hogan win the final 2 but hogan wanted to win all 3.
I think Austin was spot on. I couldn't imagine Hogan vs Austin turning out like Rock vs Hogan WM18. Hogan would of had to be in the Rocks shoes and Austin would be cheered. Not good for him brother.

Triple H is credited with way more stroke than he actually had in 2003-2005 in my opinion.
The JR impression always gets me 😂
The cashew bit was brilliant 😂
The reason fan reaction soured for Steiner is because HHH buried him at Royal Rumble 2003. Smh.... I like HHH but it's the truth.
HHH also buried rvd. He stalled, and ruined many careers. I never understood why vince allowed bs politics.
@@rthomas45 at least RVD got a WWE Championship run in 2006, which would have been longer if he hadn't gotten arrested
i love that johhnyy ace impression - it is hysterical !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 10 10 10 10 9.5 {[[c'uhina]
Does the skipping ever stop
Lol Doc Hendrick says No Mercy instead of No Way Out. These impressions are so funny.
2:45:05 was a funny skit LOL!!!
1:24:30 is the story fro the ages.
The scene with brother love in the box was the first time i saw him as a kid.
Zach Gowen just hopped on a plane?... 🤣🤣😬😬🤦♂🤦♂Conrad, I expected that from Bruce, not from you!
I love your podcast, best ever. But yhy do you Conrad so often try to portray Hogan in a bad light. The story about Hogan wanting to have his headband back from a young Dwayne Johnson at MSG is a prime example.
You never told how it ended.
He took it back from the rock to make more and sent him a new one.
Cause hogan is kinda a dick . Jessie tried to start a union and hulk ratted him out cause even tho wrestlers would be better off Hogan’s dollar would be effected .
29:48 In Latin America FOX broadcasts RAW & Smackdown

I loves me some conrad T.
Ruthless aggression era baby
This is the 2 best podcast about wrestling. What happened when is the best podcast.
Hearing Bruce take up for the absolute bullshit that Bob Holly did on tough enough is sickening. “I’ve got a great idea to teach these youngsters how to be a better wrestler and perform at a level that’s entertaining for the fans.. I’m going to beat the absolute fuck out of them!”
Then onto the Goldberg stuff-Goldberg knew what was up.
Hogan should have won the rematch.
rumour & innuendo
Conrad sounds like Trey Parker with the Brand New House commercial lol
Anthony Clark One year zero thumbs up… I think you fall on what is known as the side of the minority opinion on that one…
Alex Melendez And Lesnar and Benoit vs Team Angle
Bruce Prichard's sarcasm is hilarious.
Nah Bruce never worked under Heyman, he was always on top. Bruce never comes off to me as bottom.
Jake T Icon.... Not a rib.
I was there. That guy is a very reliable source.
TSC News
I remember him
mo jo 😂
I do think we'll get another single inductee year and there's only one man worthy of it: Vince McMahon.
Lol vince is that you???
Watching in 2023. Let me just say...
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I agree this card was STACKED. It was almost like a Wrestlemania card. It also fell on my birthday (Feb 23) and I was so pumped for this show.
"You're fucking lactating"
Also I always thought that ruthless aggression era was better then the attitude era. In storylines and wrestling matches.
Nintendo Gamer Amen to that. Stacked roster, loaded undercard, PPV themes were awesome & we got some of the best of WCW & ECW into the company.
Daniel Kane Agreed great stuff. And the tag teams were some of the best. Smackdown at the time was the best wrestling show period.
Im partial to the new generation era myself, 1992 through like 1996
kane the undertaker yeah I like that era as well good wrestlers on there but the problems was full of gimmicks
FiddleFuck.com.... laughing so hard...... hilarious enough if you don't go and type it in.....you have gone and outdone yourself Bruce.
1:43:05 😂😂😂
If you’re plugging a live event and mention unlimited beer you’re either desperate or don’t know about the infamous Ten Cent Beer Night
1 Z TAZ will rip yer fuckin head off... 2 Z TAZZ does the 2 Cool and Rikishi dance.
"Cowboy Bill WAAAAAAAAATTS"
Rumour and innuendo.
When did he talk about Goldberg?
Why was hogan ok losing to rock at WM 18?
KingsHeathDon91 hahahahha hahahhaha
Right!? Totally why Hogan dropped the belt to Bret Hart that year. Oh wait.
Who the fuck is this doing these impressions at the end? Hahhhh
Ok boys playing 2 boys 1 cup! We know! We know!
Stacy Johnston
Only girls do that
Any other wrestling fans kinda glad we didnt get Hogan Vs Austin?
Nah hogan austin in 2003 would have been cool IMO. But man wish we could have got hogan austin in 1998.
I think Austin was spot on. I couldn't imagine Hogan vs Austin turning out like Rock vs Hogan WM18. Hogan would of had to be in the Rocks shoes and Austin would be cheered. Not good for him brother.
