  • 🚩 Hull geometry - Part 7
🔸 Sheer line: projection on the hull's plane of symmetry of the intersection between the deck and the topside of the hull.
🔸 Freeboard (f): vertical distance between the sheer line and the waterline.
🔸 Depth of the hull (Dc): vertical distance from the lowest point of the sheer line to the deepest point of the hull.
🔸 Total Depth (D): vertical distance from the lowest point of the sheer line to the deepest point of the keel.
🔸 Draft or Draught of the hull (Tc): vertical distance from the designed waterline (DWL) to the deepest point of the hull.
🔸 Draft or Draught of the keel (Tk): vertical distance from the deepest point of the hull to the deepest point of the keel.
🔸 Total Draft or Total Draught (T): vertical distance from the designed waterline (DWL) to the deepest point of the keel. It is equal to the draft of the hull (Tc) plus the draft of the keel (Tk).
