Weird that yours focuses so slow - it works much faster on my D750, perfectly usable! My only gripe with this lens is it's loud autofocus motor - but hey, what can you expect for that price? Sure, it's not perfect wide open if you pixel peep. But I find it totally OK if you're a hobbyist - this is what this lens was made for! Professionals should use big brand lenses anyway.
I just bought mine for like $60 and really it is plasticy?? But other than that? It's really handy and i do manual mode most of the time so it shouldn't be a problem. Also yes comparing it with other prime lenses, the bokeh is decent enough. Overall? It's just handy whenever going out for a nature shot or just random shots. Oh and im using it with a D7000. And if you want zoom lens search for lens that have ex. 18-55mm or 70-200mm or something pike that but if its only shown 35mm on the lens it means its fixed(prime) lens Sorry for bad English
@@lokyees1706 The Yongnuo 35mm is a full frame lens. So, if you use it on a Full Frame camera, you will get the actual 35mm focal length. On a Crop Sensor camera, it will be about a 52mm focal length because of the 1.5 crop factor (compared to the full frame sensor). Hope this helps.
@@lokyees1706 Lenses stay the same no mather where you mount them. Focal lenght is a physical thing! 35mm will be always a 35mm! The thing that changes is the sensor size hence we use the crop factor (x1.5 for Nikon DX cameras)
Yes, this lens will work on the D5000. The D5000 doesn't have the AF motor screw built on the mount, like the D80 or D7000, so the older D lenses won't autofocus on the D5000. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!
For street photography, its totally fine. Images aren't too sharp if you're pixel peeping. If you're taking a street shot and composing the shot, then it should be fine.
Did you try just using the center AF? Sometimes old lenses focus much faster because in the old days the center AF was the only doublecross. Could you try that? Thx

Yes it will. Especially for the cost of it, the 35 F/2 isnt too bad. I used it for car shows as well but for me, it was just autofocusing just a bit slow BUT, it still works!
It should mount on the F5 and the AF should work but being Yongnuo, I wouldn't be surprised if the AF didn't work. If you get the lens, please try it out and let us know! Thanks!
hey, i really need to decide which one (nikkor or yongnuo) i will buy. in my country, nikkor is like the double of the value of the yongnuo. so i really dont know if i should expand a lot more on a nikkor or if the yongnuo will work fine. if you could help me to decide it would be awesoome. sorry if i made any typing mistake in this comment.
Quite a decent lens for the price but if you shoot it at f16, it is still not gonna be sharp,,, it is just YongNuo... and I would say it is not for a group photo lens. single portrait, not so bad at deadlock.
I use it on my Nikon D300s with a Nikon HB-47 lens hood. I find it pretty quick with auto focus and I love it.

My main lens on my Nikon D300s is a Nikkor 24mm 2.8 af lens. Awesome. 36mm equivalent, perfect.
Would you recommend it for a starter lense for food photography?
For the budget, yeah, it's good for food photography. Especially if you're using apertures F/2.8 to F/3.5. It's surprisingly good at those ranges.
You may buy Nikkor 35mm 1.8 cheap as well, especially 2nd hand and with fast AF bokeh good too.
This is for full frame, if you have a crop sensor there would be no reason to get the Yongnuo over the Nikkor DX 35mm. The Nikkor FX 35mm is $500.

Hey Alex, this lens is not a zoom lens. It's a fixed lens(also known as a prime lens), meaning it will only stay on one focal length.

I'm using a D700, I was thinking of just zone focusing at 2 meters at f11 for quick street shots. How is the lens from f8-f16?
past F8, its going to be great but the corners aren't going to be the best when I had it.
