The sighting of the silver backed mouse deer that preceded the one in 2019 was from a vietnamese-russian expedition in 1990. Almost 30 years without any trace of this species, it remained unseen for almost the entirety of the War on Terror. That's crazy if you ask me.

One time long ago I saw two kestrels chasing away a red-tailed hawk. Several days after that, I then saw a kestrel being chased by.... a hummingbird. I sadly couldn't record these moments because hey, how was I supposed to know that this was gonna happen, it was all so sudden both times. But yeah, it's funny that kestrels have the guts to chase away the mighty red-tailed hawk, but they in turn get chased by a wee hummingbird, LOL.

I have never heard of this creature before.
If you had shown me a drawing, I would have thought you were pulling my leg with an imaginary animal :O

Amazing, I had no idea tiny ungulates like this were still around today.

Ungulates aren't necessarily obligate herbivores. I've seen footage of deer eating hotdogs, and my personal favorite, was this black & white Holstein munching on a bid shovelful of little yellow chicks like they were popcorn! But seriously, a lot practice osteophagy, and quite a few will nosh on animal protein from time to time.
I love their little tusks, isn't it the musk deer that sports those too?
At my city's zoo, they have a pair of those teeny antelope, dik-dik, that are so cute and dainty. These little ones definitely win in that category!

Smol, anxious, eats random garbage, and so introverted it's practically a cryptid? I didn't expect the chevrotain to be so relatable.
