Imagine if they had actually nuked Godzilla and a billion of those buggers just exploded out of there across the entire continent. I'm guessing that was the point. You can't brute-force your way out of some problems (Chernobyl, Fukushima, natural disasters, etc), sometimes you just have to be content with containing a huge problem and living with it, hoping to find a real solution in the future. 10/10 movie.
That is a good analogy. And it works well with what Godzilla at his core is meant to represent. He is not an "enemy". He is not an individual that must be "defeated". *He is a force of nature.* *He is a catastrophe.* And you don't deal with a catastrophe by sending your army to blow it up or something. You use your ingenuity to come up with the best way to *contain* the catastrophe. Indeed. Dropping a nuke on Shin Godzilla would've been like sending tanks and artillery companies to shoot a tsunami. Nevermind being useless, it would've made things worse!

I remember being confused by this initially but I think I get it after a rewatch, I believe the evolutions of Godzilla in this movie were specifically a response to the weapons being thrown at it (think about how its dorsal lasers are perfectly tuned to take out all the aircraft for example), meaning if a different form of offensive was taken against it, it likely could've ended up taking a completely different evolutionary path. Godzilla realizes in the last moments of the movie that the humans were the source of all the attacks and the biggest threat to its survival, so it decided to counter humans themselves by evolving once again into its own "humans" On one hand I would like to see where that'd end up going (mainly because the design of the tail creatures is fucking wicked) but on the other hand the movie ending at a close call for narrowly avoiding possibly the biggest disaster Godzilla had up its sleeve and the ambiguity of how much more terrifying its onslaught could've ended up becoming is perfect

Yeah I'm pretty sure they designed the humanoids from the idea of Alien from Alien Covenant that dates way back to 1979, hence most of Japan and Asian scifi movies like to inherit design and ideas from the alien franchise and other movies from western civilization.

If Godzilla was still hostile to humanity , these humanoid creatures could have rendered the entirety of humanity extinct knowing the humanoid creatures could evolve into anything that they seem fit to ensure survival.
This version of Godzilla can apparently reproduce humanoid creatures, suggesting a possible 5th form was gonna take place. But since Godzilla froze, the humanoids freeze too. Unless if a sequel was planned, in which case: Total Armageddon is gonna freaking happen.
You can find drafts of all forms planed for a sequel, with a final 9th form supposedly being just a vortex that destroys all cosmos. The sequel got rejected after the studio stopped to take a good look at it.
Seeing the camera focusing on the end tip of the tail which showed humanoid forms of Godzilla is still disturbing. By far this was the most scariest iteration of Godzilla with Minus One version being the third scariest to me. But Godzilla Earth is definitely the most scariest version despite of being a animated counterpart.
Finally saw this movie and def one of the best Godzilla movies. The version here was so interesting, so creepy and scary, and made for such an intellectual version of Godzilla
Shin Godzilla was the ultimate mistake, able to evolve to suit any need, if he'd have gone a step further I believe he would have grown wings, but to go as far as to start producing an entirely new species whose sole purpose may have been to protect and I guess serve under Shin? They may even have been able to fire atomic breath of their own kind! Shin 100% would have ended humanity & conquered Earth itself.

What I love about this is the lack of an explanation. Because WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?! But more importantly, I think it shows that Japan had just barely, very narrowly avoided something much more terrifying than they already had to face. The constant stalling allowed a monster to get more and more powerful and horrific, yet it SOMEHOW could've gotten a lot worse I also like the idea that the tail represents or just literally is the lost souls/bodies of those who died during Godzilla's attack. That tail alone makes this a damn horror movie ngl. Not mentioning the constantly evolving creature that Gojira is here. And something about even Godzilla being scared, and specifically in pain makes it worse. I don't really like the idea that Godzilla was evolving to become a small human ngl. Perhaps Godzilla sprouting humanoid creatures? That's sorta fine. Or even something that i saw where the X-ray of Gojira had a more humanoid body under it's thick layer of tumors and stuff, so at some point, he would shed that outer hide and be a skeletal, bloody, strangely human-ish looking monster

That sounds cool. Especially if HE HIMSELF wasn't transforming, but rather spawning minions, especially with it already being confirmed that chunks removed from him functioned as their own little organism.
