    My dream guitar - I never understood why John never really played the fireglo Rick. He only used it for a couple live shows while his black one was being repaired and immediately went back to the black 325. He was never seen playing the fireglo 1996 again and gave it to Ringo around 1968, who sold it a couple years ago.

      Yeah that's true, seems he did not feel much connected to this instrument. His rickenbacker era was nearly "over" anyway, after nearly 5 years playing the 325, soon the Epiphone Casino turned to be his main instrument for the following 5 years, surely he wanted something different and new. He never appeared again on stage with one of his Rick, sadly. Although it's said he used his original 325 during double fantasy studio sesssions, in 1980.

    The story I heard was that John bought this and Paul bought the Hofner 500/1 because they wanted to “look bigger” on stage, so smaller instruments. Plus Paul liked that the Hofner was symmetrical so he could flip it over to lefty without it being awkward. Reverb just did an article on the Beatle’s gear in Hamburg... some interesting stuff... apparently they never did finish paying for their famous guitars and amps before they left for England!

      2 years passed but never too late to right some myths and misconceptions - or IS it???
      That model was distributed in the UK for Rickenbacker by distributor Rose-Morris and had an f-hole to distinguish it from the standard 325s with no soundhole or the Ric 'Cat Eye' hole of the full size models. John's was given to him by the company in 64 and used as a touring back-up. He got his first Rick 325/Capri in Hamburg because like a lot of art school musicians he was into jazz and a favorite band was George Shearing, whose guitarist Toots Theilemans played Rics. This was one leftover from a trade show and so he snagged it on the spot.

      Just one of the greatest songs that the greatest band of all time made on one of the most popular albums of all time. No big deal, easy to forget.

    Beautiful guitar. Demo is nice but would be better if you played contextual examples of how Lennon or John Fogerty used them for backing guitar parts to display the tones a bit better than playing those Beatles song melodies that have nothing to do with how that guitar was used on the original tunes back in the day.

    I got a question, Why not many guitarists using tricky guitars?

    ... slightly out of tune, but nice guitar nonetheless - and Lemmo is just the master slayer of guitars ;-D

      Sounds like it could be “Let Her Go” by Passenger (but with Lemmo’s spin)

    That guitar looks small; is it a 3/4 size?

    • @davidkastin4240
      @davidkastin4240 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No it's not. It's a full size scale length for a Ric.

    • @davidkieltyka9
      @davidkieltyka9 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The scale length is ~21” compared to the standard 24.75” Rickenbacker scale length.

    • @davidkastin4240
      @davidkastin4240 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@davidkieltyka9 So then it's a short scale length lol

    • @thomaspappalardo7589
      @thomaspappalardo7589 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      David Kastin Actually it is short scale. The 325 was originally part of the Capri series, which were all short-scale models. The full-scale version is the 350.

    • @Stratocus
      @Stratocus 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually, a bit of Googling revealed that it's a 20 3/4in scale length. The Gibson ES140 is 22 3/4 and is considered a 3/4 size so I guess this Ric would be as well.

    I can’t believe you did not mention John Fogarty. That is the guitar he played. Lennon’s was a little different.

    • @joellebrodeur1015
      @joellebrodeur1015 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lennon had four 325 models in total. His fireglo version was the export Rose Morris 1996. Fogerty played a similar one if not identical one.
