      Probably because it's the one John Lennon used while The Beatles were staying and recording in Miami in 1964 ?

    It’s a beautiful guitar but the amp or pedal that you used made it sound like a 12 string, it would have been nice to hear something like Twist and Shout or All My Loving

    The Beatles did not only take a nice, warm vacation in Miami during their first visit to the U.S, they rehearsed and made their second appearance "The Ed Sullivan Show" at the Deauville Beach Hotel Miami Beach on Feb. 16, 1964, to 70 million TV viewers.
    While they were there, Rickenbacker sent John a new, Jetglow" (black) 325, similar to the originally honey-blonde finished, later crudely painted black 1958 325 "Capri" that he had bought in Hamburg in 1960 and played during The Beatles' first appearance on the Sullivan show. on February 9, 1964. John played the new Rickenbacker during this show but later said that it wasn't as good a his original one. That is why this guitar is called "The Miami Rickenbacker".
    He soon stopped playing a Rickenbacker altogether and went on to play an Epiphone Casio as did Paul and George. The "Casino" was the Beatles' favourite guitar although they also liked the Fender Stratocaster a lot and used it extensively on "Revolver" and "Sgt. Pepper's", "Magical Mystery Tour", and thereafter.

      Hi Sir! You're right! Nice topo from a true Beatles fan! Just to add: Sir John' Rickenbacker was a 3/4 model! Anyone who tried to "imitate" Sir John' posture discovered why he could stand like that! Thanks again and feel free to check out the rest of my 16 Beatles Collection on TH-cam/eBay! JL :-)

    • @Glicksman1
      @Glicksman1 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jljl202 Yes, the Rickenbacker 325 "Capri" is considered to be a "3/4" guitar because its scale length is only 21" compared to an Epiphone "Casino's" scale length of 24.75", and a Fender "Stratocaster's" scale length of 25.5".
      Short-scale necks make some things easier to play from the nut to the middle of the neck, but for those with large or even average hands/fingers playing is this hindered at the upper positions of the neck because the shorter scale means that the frets are very close together there, almost as on a mandolin.
      I will check your stuff out.
      John Lennon and George Harison were never Knighted as were Paul McCartney and later Richard Starkey (Ringo), so it's not "Sir John".
      Happy Holidays
