    Have you travelled in a Russian Metro before? The Yekatringburg Metro is very unique with its single line and only 9 stations from end to end. How ever its still amazing to see the different stations and admire the beauty of what was created so many years ago. Do you take time to look at a train station when you arrive or leave?

    Very beautiful stations. It is incredible how spacious, clean and light all those stations are. The design of each station is just incredible. If I had to compare to the horrors of London underground I don't even know which station to select. All London stations look grim, dirty, dark and unpleasant.

    Yes, I travelled not only in the Russian Subway, but also in the Soviet Subway - in Baku, in Minsk, in St. Petersburg (Leningrad), and of course in Moscow. And everywhere it's a work of art integrated into the transportation system....

    Thank you, Russell, for your amazing tour of the Yekaterinburg metro! As a fan of the Yekaterinburg metro (I even owned a hobbyist website about our metro 20 years ago), I have to say: Wow! This was very educational! You learned so much about our metro in such a short time! Thank you!

    Hello from Yekaterinburg, Russell. Be happy)) The building you saw on a picture located near Dinamo metro station. It's local Railway administration, if I am not mistaken. Exit of Geologicheskaya actually leads not to the street, but it Greenvich shopping centre itself. Metro coin you have got is an old Moscow Metro coin, it is written on it. I wish you will show people city centre, some old buildings, Greenvich, Hyperbola market. It would be great. Thanks, Russell.

    The more i watch ur videos, the more I'm forced to ask, which version of Russia does the West have in their heads? This is super clean with super clean people, no weirdos. No gang signs, no knife or gun crimes, just pretty clean

      Not just America, UK also looks backward and rather toxic in comparison. London underground is better than NY I hear, but it cannot compare even to this provincial Russian metro design.

      @@TravellingwithRussell for a long time in the Yekaterinburg metro photography and video filming was prohibited in November 2011 the ban on photography and video filming was lifted and what about tokens then in the Yekaterinburg metro used tokens of the Moscow metro are used which were in the Moscow metro since 1992 and in 1999 the tokens of the Moscow metro were cancelled in the Moscow metro and replaced with paper tickets with a magnetic strip and the tokens of the Moscow metro themselves were transferred to Yekaterinburg but soon the Yekaterinburg metro will refuse tokens in favor of travel tickets and bank cards

    Thank you very much, Russell! It would seem that as an old Muscovite, it is difficult to surprise me with the beauty of the metro, but I am delighted with all the stations of the Yekaterinburg metro. As befits the capital of the Urals, there is a parade of many types of luxurious finishing stone. The imagination of the creators of the lighting is amazing.

    "URSS NO25" was written on the wings of the ANT-25 aircraft on which Chkalov, Baidukov and Belyakov made the longest non-stop flight in the world in 1936, for which they received the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.

    I have read in other channels that most elevators in Russia are from the west but that servicing them has been discontinued due to sanctions. I suppose there is a certain amount of "McGyvering" going on but it would still make me pause.

    • @silwen9412
      @silwen9412 44 นาทีที่ผ่านมา +2

      Not most of them. There are usually foreign elevators in shopping malls and office buildings, but in high-rise buildings there are still mostly Russian-made elevators. The elevator in my house was replaced 12 years ago, and now it is the elevator of the Shcherbinsky Elevator Plant.

    • @AzariasTM
      @AzariasTM 42 นาทีที่ผ่านมา +2

      The market share of the departed companies was only about 20%. Yes, they caused some difficulties and problems, but elevator manufacturers in Russia worked with this. Perhaps some spare parts were replaced. Recently, they launched a new production of elevators for high-rise buildings. The elevators will run at a speed of up to 2.5 m/s and will be installed in high-rise buildings (up to 40 floors inclusive and up to 140 m high).
      As Vladimir Koshelev, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Public Utilities, said in June, Russian elevator manufacturers serve more than 70% of the country's market as a whole.
