This was the best blind tasting thus far, hilarious! When you both picked "B" I started to laugh as I knew this would make Kurt's week and Trenton would be humbled! We bow to the Turkey! Thanks guys as you made my Friday morning with laughter and a "Big Grin"!
I have been saying for years now that both rare breed and 46 cask were some of my all time favorites. To see them in the running here and getting the well deserved attention is so nice.
@@nodaysoff23As with most blinds Proof Matters. It's really hard for lower proofers to stand out. I don't know about most people but I find myself having a pour by itself much more often than blinding multiple pours. So yes... I love a good Baker's SiB 😂
Been in the industry for 22 years and everyday taste can change. Think I know what I like but often pleasantly surprised. Blind tasting is the way to go. Like to see same line up again month later.
Trent, it's called a brush! But, you definitely need to keep busting Kurt's chops for doing such a great job of throwing you under the bus......er, I mean, putting you on the spot right off the bat. This was a FANTASTIC line up and episode. Great comments and observations. Trent melting like the Wicked Witch of the West at 21:28 is an instant classic!!! (Always love family involvement as well.) KEEP IT UP GUYS!!!!
😂😂😂 Oh Lawd!!! This it THE best blind and in the top 5 BEST videos you two have ever done. The reactions and timing could not have been better. About spit my Jameson across the room. I’m with Kurt… that WT RB is some good stuff!!! Thank you Gentlemen.
I'm thankful for y'all today! If my dad were still alive he'd be about Kurt's age. It warms my heart to see you two enjoying a drink and spending time together!
Had my first Rare Breed last night. I kept saying this taste good, man this taste good. Looking forward to tonight! Enjoyed this video. I think I can find most of these.
I got the notification of your video while I was at work so after work I ran to the liquor store and bought a bottle of Rare Breed so I can sip on it while I watched, it has been awhile since I have had Rare Breed, it is well worth the price and I am so glad that you can pick it up anywhere everyday. In my opinion you don't need to chase allocated bourbon when you have a bourbon like this readily available. Amazing video as always gentlemen, you guys videos are something I always look forward to after a long day of work.
I will take a dram of Rare Breed any day. I have had some damn expensive fine bourbons and for the price Rare Breed is amazing. It's more than the price though. That rarely matters to me - it's the quality and enjoyment that matter. I am a lover of fine single malt Scotch whisky but when I want a wonderful dram of bourbon I often reach for Rare Breed. I love the punch from it and the whole experience! My usual go to bourbon is Elijah Craig Small Batch or a Blanton's and when a friend did a 'blind tasting' recently I chose the Rare Breed! THAT shocked me! Lol! Fabulous video! You all crack me up!! Cheers!! 🙂
Try storing the bottles that have less than half left, in a smaller glass container. I have noticed that coming back to bottles that have more air than bourbon, changed drastically. Hope this helps. Cheers!

Almost grabbed that Old Forester tonight but it was 2x as much as the 80 proof, so i grabbed a bottle of wild turkey 101 and Elijah wood small batch, and that brings my bottle total to now 4. Literally the most bottles I've ever had at one time.
Hilarious, Trent was looking so smug thinking it was going to go the other way, to have the WT as his number one, the change in expression was priceless
Weather always plays a role in my preferences. I'm from the southwest corner of rural Georgia. Top shelf stuff is hard to find and always secondary market price when I do. So all the pours in this lineup are basically affordable unicorns for me. 😂 In the summer months, Maker's Mark products are a go to for me. They're light in viscosity and seem to go down easier. As fall has slipped in the Knob Creek 12 and Selects seem to be my most enjoyable pours. Come winter months I'll swap over to Wild Turkey Rare Breed and Kentucky Spirit offerings with a few Elijah Craig Barrel Proofs pours. By Spring I'll rely on Wild Turkey 101. I've yet to try any of the Old Forrester lineup. The 1910 and 1920 run around $70 here so I've been hesitant to purchase either. The pepper flavor mentioned in this video leads me to believe I'd enjoy them in the winter months. Love the channel!
Kurt, at one point I really enjoyed 1910 and appreciated 1920. But at this point, I'm almost ready to walk away from Old Forester entirely. I might accept a glass of 1910 at a bar with the hope that in that evening, I'll get the maple syrup, butter, and waffles I was able to get from the 1910 about 15% of the time. But I would only accept a 1920 if I was in the mood to test my palate and see if I could be convinced that the 1920 isn't an overly oak driven, not enough anything else mess that I've come to expect from that bottle. I plan on buying my first OF100 next year as my one more try bottle in an attempt to see if Old Forester really isn't for me but it's not looking good right now.
Well that was fun. I assumed going in that either 1920 or 46 cask would come out on top, just because I think they stand out in a blind lineup well. Not surprised that Kurt picked the Rare Breed but I am astounded that Trenton went that way. Great video!!
I really enjoyed this one!! All bottles I keep in the bar! Especially knowing your preferences from watching for awhile, it was my favorite so far! Thanks!
I definitely agree with Kurt's assessment of Rare Breed, it has that sweet & sour vibe going on (at least with the bottle I have at home). Initially, I was put off by the sour note. But the more you crack open the bottle the more you appreciate it (and the sour note becomes less prominent). Almost has a honey characteristic to it.
I recently tried 1920 in an old fashioned and was blown away - best combo I have ever had. I'd be curious what you'd recommend or if you did a blind test to try and compare! No spoilers here but this was hilarious!
@@BourbonJawnt my 2 favorites are woodford double oak (65 dollar bottle) and knob creek cask strength (60 dollar bottle) so similar prices to their 4 and those are my favorite under a 100 dollar bottles. Great blind. The more I do blinds it teaches me how much my palate changes. Bottles that do well in one blind can be middle of the road the next. I think it would be interesting to do the same blind later to see if results remain the same.
... I have been drinking "Rare Breed" since it was $12/bottle ... and "101" was $8-9 /fifth ... and when the Bartender says " Maker's Mark" is their best bourbon ... I ask them ... "do I look like I am slumming tonight ???" NOPE !!!
Rare breed for some reason just continues to get overlooked. I think it's because it's "so" available I will say I even walk by it. Bakers is sneaky good and I think makers 46 cask like other makers for me fizzle out in flavor when they get halfway down the bottle like yours. 1920 and I'll throw in 1910 are absolute staples.
I feel like every content creator loves Rare Breed and every group I'm in raves over Rare Breed. I don't think it's overlooked at all. It's just always available.
The Prohibition Style from Old Forester kicks like a mule! That’s my favorite of the four, then I’d take the Wild Turkey Rare Breed. These are my two picks at 3:11 into the video. 😂😂
Not surprised that Wild Turkey RB won the blind tasting, it's a great bourbon. As for Old Forester 1920, I've suspected for a while that it's not nearly as good as it was a couple of years ago. This tasting and other reviews I've read/watched tend to verify that opinion.
Boy Kurt is boiling over with confidence😂😂. I'm shocked that Trenton picked the wild turkey. I personally love it and it was fun watching Kurt get the right pic on the blind. I have a suspicion he was chugging wild turkey rare breed just before the video so he didn't mess up😂😂
Honestly, I bought his bottle because of Matt maconaghey and I like it from the first sip! It got all the notes I love in bourbon and it’s wild turkey for god sakes!!! This is truly number one for a regular off the shelf bourbon under 160.00
Nice to laugh out loud this Friday - great content as usual guys! I have to admit that I keep my 1920 just for the old fashioned, but I will sip a glass of Rare Breed tonight in honor of the win.
This was great. As soon as Kurt said "sweet and sour," I knew we were headed for a doozy. When Trent also landed on B, I pretty much fell out of my whiskey-drinking chair!
Awesome lineup. Fun video. RareBreed, Old Forrester 1920, Makers 46CS followed by Baker 7 was how I ranked them along side you guys. Always ones I recommend to those who want to kick their proof up a notch.
Important to note that our sense of smell and taste can, and do, change from day to day. So on any given day you will likely find that you prefer something different than the day before
Trent picking WT as his favorite just made my day 😂 his closet hate for WT just went down the toilet!
Finally. I mean what a putz.
Yeah. The look on his face when he realized it was WT made me laugh so hard.
I would love to do this test with these guys!!!
Great video- loved Trent ‘sinking’ after WT101 was #1 😂😂
He said it, "best whiskey in the world." Funny it was the dad, who loves WT, that backed off of that statement
Trenton’s face and reaction when he found out Rare Breed was #1 was hilarious! 😂
Yeah. I laughed so hard. That was too funny.
I lost it haha, this was a great video
Great show! The best part is that Rare Breed is readily available most everywhere and not super expensive.
I agree. I will always have 46 CS on my shelf. Such an oaky goodness
Same for me. I've seen Bakers overhyped and fail on many videos. Never tried it personally.
I love WTRB and OF1920. Bakers7 is good. Never had MM46
Major reasons I dislike both Rare Breed and 46 Cask are their high spiciness.

A fantastic blind! The look on Trenton's face when he realized he picked Rare Breed first was priceless!
I just love how much fun you guys have and how wholesome to see this be a family business. Keep up the tremendous work, gentlemen.
