Why do people think just because their dog hasn't bitten anyone in their household, that it won't or it's not capable. There is not a dog in the world that I would let near my children, they are not humans, they are not family, why do people think their pet dogs see them as anything else but a strange creature looking after them. It must be as strange to them as a human being raised by a cow would be. A dog is usually a one person pet IE: the person that feeds it, takes it for walks, plays with it ETC. It does not look at child in the family the same way, the child does not feed it, walk it ETC, all it sees is an annoying creature that is taking it's time away from their owner, pulls it around when it's trying to rest or when it's not feeling very well.

These dogs were loving as well. They had families who cared and loved them, no different than a family who owns a shepherd, lab, or golden retriever. Good and bad dog owners exist and own all sorts of breeds, not to mention any dog can attack. My dog does not deserve to be seized because someone else’s dog attacked someone, it is unfair. These tragic accidents, while horrible, are rare and PREVENTABLE. Don’t leave kids alone with dogs of any breed and don’t let people (especially young children) pester and torment the family dog.

This needs to stop. Not all pit bulls are aggressive. Some are, some aren’t. Yes, I admit, pit bulls likely are more prone to being aggressive if you don’t successfully train and socialise them well. However, some pit bulls are lovely. No innocent dog deserves to be put to death because of their breed or type. Dogs should be judged by their individual character, not their type or breed. Don’t get me wrong, people and children need to be protected from dog attacks, but breed bans aren’t even an effective way to do so. It would be much more effective to require thorough home checks and tests for anyone wanting to buy or adopt a dog, to require every new dog carer to attend humane, positive reinforcement training classes and socialisation classes with their dog, dog licenses, education for the public and children on how to act around dogs and how to treat them, to introduce breeding licenses and to require every dog and cat carer without a breeding license to spay/neuter their cats and dogs, unless they are either too young or there is a medical reason not to do so. Even if they just required all dogs of certain breeds/types to wear a humane, basket-style muzzle that allows them to pant, drink and eat treats when they are out, this would be better than killing them…

The concept of "racism" doesn't apply to animals. Pit bulls were selectively bred to be the dangerous dog that they are. This breeding was done on purpose. There is not a dog in the world that I would let near my children, they are not humans, they are not family, why do people think their pet dogs see them as anything else but a strange creature looking after them.

A dog is usually a one person pet IE: the person that feeds it, takes it for walks, plays with it ETC.
It does not look at child in the family the same way, the child does not feed it, walk it ETC, all it sees is an annoying creature that is taking it's time away from their owner, pulls it around when it's trying to rest or when it's not feeling very well.

I've read so many stories about so called family dogs that have been treated as one of the family for years, only to turn aggressive & attack a member of that family.
There are people out there that keep a lion, a hippo even a Hyena they will also tell you how they are one of the family, how they raised them & how loving they can be ETC.
The majority of people would say they must be crazy but I do not see much difference myself IE: a lot of dogs also have the capacity to kill an adult human.
A lot of people have found out the hard way by putting so much trust in their so called member of the family & have lost a loved one, more often than not, it's been a child ! Usually because children cannot read the signs like a adult can IE: like when a dog moves away when it's had enough of being pulled around or is not having a good day ETC a child often follows it & continues with what they sees as a little game.

This needs to stop. Not all pit bulls are aggressive. Some are, some aren’t. Yes, I admit, pit bulls likely are more prone to being aggressive if you don’t successfully train and socialise them well. However, some pit bulls are lovely. No innocent dog deserves to be put to death because of their breed or type. Dogs should be judged by their individual character, not their type or breed.
Don’t get me wrong, people and children need to be protected from dog attacks, but breed bans aren’t even an effective way to do so. It would be much more effective to require thorough home checks and tests for anyone wanting to buy or adopt a dog, to require every new dog carer to attend humane, positive reinforcement training classes and socialisation classes with their dog, dog licenses, education for the public and children on how to act around dogs and how to treat them, to introduce breeding licenses and to require every dog and cat carer without a breeding license to spay/neuter their cats and dogs, unless they are either too young or there is a medical reason not to do so. Even if they just required all dogs of certain breeds/types to wear a humane, basket-style muzzle that allows them to pant, drink and eat treats when they are out, this would be better than killing them…
