Ok, I‘ll bite the bullet and break the ice at the same time. I actually thought that „raise the bar“ comes from the Limbo Dance, but obviously I didn‘t hit the nail on the head😂. This lesson was awesome, thank you so much!

      Fantastic!!!!
      Love your examples.
Maybe "lower the bar" came from the amazing Limbo Dance... I know if someone wanted me to limbo, they would have to raise the bar significantly, in a literal sense.

    Hahahaha, Que vídeo divertido!
É exatamente assim que a gente pensa, porque traduzimos literalmente.
Aqui no Brasil é ensinado a traduzir no pé da letra, é até mesmo nos dicionários ou no Google tradutor, as traduções sempre são literais. Eles não ensinam a traduzir como você faz neste vídeo.
    Muito obrigado pela aula, professor!

      Hello Brazil!!
Thank you for the very kind words.
Yes, people from all over the world have the same issue that you have in Brazil.
English is hard, and with so many idioms and phrasal verbs used by native speakers, it is much more difficult.
I think this is a realistic and fun way to look at idioms.
      Thanks again!

Go extra mile is from matthew 5:41
And the answer is on verse 42 that is : " give to anyone who asks you for something.Don't refuse to give to anyone who want to borrow from you." And this is related with idiom " Hit the nail on the head"
It's mean we can help people right on target
That is my opinion mr. Grant.🙇‍♀️❤
And from the bottom of my heart...i will do the same thing as Jesus told me to do. 🙇‍♀️❤
( obey the Lord is our privilage 🤗❤❤❤
Because when God want us to do something He will guide us & help us to do )
      🙇‍♀️❤❤❤❤
      And yessss
You are hit the nail on the head😊❤❤❤
