Fantastic!!!! Love your examples. Maybe "lower the bar" came from the amazing Limbo Dance... I know if someone wanted me to limbo, they would have to raise the bar significantly, in a literal sense.

English is hard, and with so many idioms and phrasal verbs used by native speakers, it is much more difficult. I think this is a realistic and fun way to look at idioms. Thanks again!
