    Pro tip: choose an ultralight backpack carefully, often times they make the weight feel heavier due to construction. A 4lb bag with 45lb can feel lighter than an ultralight bag with 30lb.

    • @MG-bs5mr
      @MG-bs5mr 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +18

      Indeed, mine weights 1.85kg (4lbs) but it's frame and support system makes it possible to carry 17kg (37½ lbs) really comfortably.

      @geometerfpv2804 sometimes it's about cutting off the useless bells and whistles when all you want is a back with the main essentials.
      Hip belt, chest strap, bottle holders, 1 elastic pouch in back, and a big open main bag area. The extra pouches and pockets can really get in your way and just waste weight and material and make the bag more confusing. That being said I prefer my osprey atmos ag 65

      If you go to an Army surplus store you can find a lot of these things that may be cheaper and more durable imo. An Army rucksack is actually pretty comfortable, I’d probably skip the sleeping bag if you’re worried about price but it’s worth it imo since you can use it with or without a tent.

      @@anthonypicone3463 you just got to know how to pack your items properly. The emergency blanket and yoga mat can be rolled up in the sleeping bag, and strap it to the bottom of the frame. Then use the tarp to create a pouch that I can then strap and carry the other stuff, while it's lays on top of and over the bed roll. I've always said the most important skill the survivalists, bush crafters, hunters, hikers, and camper's should have is creativity, if you learn the skills that all these people use you should always get creative with it, if you're creative enough you can figure anything out.
      For example in the Army when we were issued our gear, it was up to us to figure out what way we wanted to organize our rucks. I had a rule of thumb, the heaviest stuff went in the middle of the ruck pack. While some other guys thought putting all the weight on the bottom was a better idea not thinking about the fact that would then have your weight at the bottom would pull more weight on their shoulders backwards. Versus keeping the weight centered allowing their body to naturally keep the weight distributed with their own center of balance.

    The absolute easiest item to make to “go ultralight” with is an alcohol burning stove and wind screen. My whole alcohol stove set up (wind screen/pot stand (made from salvaged aluminum sheet), stove (easily made out of a redbull beverage can), mini-Bic lighter, fuel bottle (a salvaged 60 mL petroleum jelly tube -enough fuel to boil three cups of water), and medicine cup for measuring fuel) is about 40 grams or 1.4 ounces and cost me nothing but maybe a couple of hours of my time to make.

    British army goretex bivvy bag (£60 grade A used).

    Now a list that can actually handle wet and cold. Karrimor sabre 45 . The go to backpack for bushcraft, military and expedition . Most things are subjective but thats literally the best bag you can buy no matter what you spend . £90 for the bag ,30 for the plce pockets .
    Tent . Oex bobcat. 1.9 kg. 5000hh waterproof outer pitch 1st . Can handle high winds . £110 . If going as a couple split a karrimor Panther 3 between you. Same stats 3.3 kg and its masive can hold up in there for days if you have to.
    Any sleeping bag they all the same. A 700gram sleeping bag performs like 700grams . A 1600 gram sleeping bag performs like 1600 gram and so on.
    Waterproof jacket again karrimor. There jackets are £40 . Incredibly waterproof and breathable. None of this yank stuff is any use outside of june and july and even then i wouldn't trust it. Sideways rain and 80mph wind can happen any minute in Britain.
