An other great vidéo !! Thanks to you I carried out my first motherboard repair, it was just changing the power socket, but for me, removing the motherboard from the laptop was a first and very stressful. and the joy when everything is put back together, we plug in the socket and windows appears!!😁!
Sorin, for sure , you need to change those instrument leads. If I‘m not mistaken, at 4:42, you checked that very same capacitor and determine it is good.
i guess the solder has a thin layer of something which acts as insulation and hence with new probes they will be sharper and go thru the insulation? is this why you recommend this?
That cap should definitely replaced, the ripple on that rail will fatigue other components. A dumb decoupling capacitor, ok whatever, but this is not it.😊😊
1.How did he establish what is input and where is outlut of those 2 mosfets ? 2. Did Sorin inject voltage on main power rail or where exactly ? Why he did not inject on big inductor but on small one ?
Love the Dell XPS range - I had a XPS desktop that was brilliant, shame they're looking at stopping the XPS range soon. Definately need a mug with "Smell it, Sense it, Know it!" written on it!🤣
1 capacitor melting, 1 failed. But dont replace either. Lol. I do enjoy Sorins vidjas, its how you'd fix electronics in space if you had zero spare parts.
It's great when you put on the audio and give the option to say it in Brazilian Portuguese 🇧🇷, it's much easier to follow your videos, congratulations, great work!!
recently the UPS for my desktop failed and home power fluctuation caused a couple crashes. Now my secondary E drive is at 100% all the time. I can still see the files from cmd.exe but the drive is 100% so i can't run chkdsk from windows or access the files for backup. do you think there is a hardware failure or just a bad file table index or something?.. thinking i might replace the drive with new and put old in an enclosure to see if I can access the files.. not sure at this point. There are many years of photos on that drive i should save
Hi i have hp dy15 1023 tpn q222 and a chip is burned near typec port and this code is 0qBTF. When i search no rezults coming. Can u send me a link for this part or same part. Thanks
congratulation sorin for your chanel! can you please make a video with your streaming setup? cameras microphones etc? since you are doing it for quite a while you can give some advices to us that we are beginners. thank you!
"what do you mean change the capacitor? maybe in another video, lol" I enjoy watching your videos but please replace the god forsaken poor capacitor. You are like a skilled dentist who refuse to do anything but plucking teeth, no root canals or tooth replacements.

"If the board is smelling like piss, that doesn't mean is piss on the board"
- Sorin, 2025
Thank you so much for all your knowledge.

Another proper nice repair! With this one you nose the solution pretty quickly. 😀 Love your work.
When you said the board smelled like ammonia the first thing I thought was that the cat peed on the keyboard. I've had a few cases like that.
Exactly what I thought too. And Sorin continued to sniff it,.
Awesome repair
❤❤❤❤❤❤
That cap should definitely replaced, the ripple on that rail will fatigue other components. A dumb decoupling capacitor, ok whatever, but this is not it.😊😊
No capacitor, no shorted capacitor
but will hold on long enough to ran out of warranty repair
that's a weird smell, and then keep smelling lol
🤣
I was waiting for him to ask "do you smell it?"
That's why we are man
The part where Sorin replaces the capacitor is in the next video 😂
with proper calibrated... capacitor :D
Capacitor pissed itself seeing Sorin...
Thanks for the video Sorin
Interesting tip to keep in mind
1.How did he establish what is input and where is outlut of those 2 mosfets ?
2. Did Sorin inject voltage on main power rail or where exactly ? Why he did not inject on big inductor but on small one ?
Nice work as usual...you need a solder tweezer SEQURE HT140 to smd removal and soldering
😂😂😂Of all the tools in the world, the best is the nose.
Yeah.
If the board smells like piss... well, then, either the customer pissed on the laptop, or it's a capacitor!
I love the smell of magic smoke early in the morning......
If still unsure after giving it a good sniff try the lick test.
If it smells like piss and it it takes like piss... then it's a proper calibrated capacitor :D
Very nice 👍
he keep smelling it until the end like as if he is addicted to it 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love the Dell XPS range - I had a XPS desktop that was brilliant, shame they're looking at stopping the XPS range soon.
Definately need a mug with "Smell it, Sense it, Know it!" written on it!🤣
Good job mate 👏
Thank you
Very nice skills.
1 capacitor melting, 1 failed. But dont replace either. Lol. I do enjoy Sorins vidjas, its how you'd fix electronics in space if you had zero spare parts.
What's the point in replacing the broken capacitor? it will only fail again sometime in the future.
So, no capacitor => no fault! :D :D :D
@@schumerlucian Why is it that they fail when replaced?
It wasn't essential, so you can remove it or others and the laptop will still work.
Smell it, sense it, know it, rip it, drag it, drop it, zip, unzip it
replacing the capacitor? maybe?...
in the next video
@@martinharmath1566 in the next life.
No capacitor, no problem :D
None of that garbage here.
Funny as always! thanks😂
why you didn't check the other connector?
Sorry I had to laugh, I thought you had written on the thumbnail "Do you smell a fart" 😂😂
Ever tried SMD de-soldering tweezers?
he did, but not very like it
It's great when you put on the audio and give the option to say it in Brazilian Portuguese 🇧🇷, it's much easier to follow your videos, congratulations, great work!!
Forgot rhe thermal camera we need smell camera !
How come the capacitor didnt read as short when Sorin tested it?
Simple question . If you removed the ethernet ic off a laptop would you expect the laptop to still post.and show a screen?
hi sorin do you have the schematic for this particular laptop ?if you have can you plz send it to me thanks
Why not replace both capacitors, melted and shorted one?
F for this capacitor and no replacement will be found :)
I keep reading it as, "Do you smell a fart" :D

The capacitor is gone (11:03) and also, forgotten.

so they have piss inside the capacitor?
Thankssssssssss❤
I do think that capacitor should be replaced. It is an electrolytic one.
Nice! 😎
Spilled electrons...ummm, that smell... 😂
Lovely!
which brand makes the most reliable laptop please?
It depends like my acer laptop which i am currently using is nearly 10 years old AMD cpu
It depends on luck! Any way, I think it's acer as I had seen many old models still chugging on!
Toyota or Honda
congratulation sorin for your chanel! can you please make a video with your streaming setup? cameras microphones etc? since you are doing it for quite a while you can give some advices to us that we are beginners. thank you!
Ammonia is NH3
Kkkkkkkkkk you kept smelling Sorin
Nice
Literally smelled the fault 😅
Please I need hp elitebook 840 G2 boardview
Most repairers will replace the component but not Sorin, he likes to save a few pennies 😜
no capacitor, no shorted capacitor
remember the motto
@@maklogetrich2378 that, and the one with the proper calibrated wire :D
Anyone else think "that's cat-piss!"?
Doesn't smell like pizza
Easy pizza for sure
Miroase a miliamperi?😂😂😂
(Sniff, sniff, sniff...) Yeah, that has a weird smell... that's not the smell of EZ Pizza... (sigh)
...well, that was an EZ Pizza!, but the smell, maybe don't eat it... Nice job! That's one beautiful working computer, Ship It!... 👍
Cat peed on the laptop? I've had a few. 🤢
Hello🤝👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👋👋👋👋
I'm starting to think you don't replace capacitors even on washing machines motors 🙄
Please don't smell like this for health issues 😢
