My mate is a police officer in a not very nice part of nth London and he told me when he's on patrol what cars he looks out for and top of his list is grubby black 10 year old BMW 1 series, particularly with tinted windows. And then any 'old' black german car with tinted windows. Finds a reason to stop them and 9 times out of 10 comes up trumps. Criminals, little tip, get a Toyota.
Ain't this the truth. Every scumbag I know either has a 10-20 year old rough as a sailors legover black or grey German motor with tinted windows or a nearly new Range Rover/BMW 3 Series with a shit incorrectly spaced 4D number plate. My best mate (who's ex plod) calls them "Section 1" cars 😂
Love this!!!! Coming from a Police family in Salford, you see these wonderful members of society every day. Lovely to hear someone on our wavelength. Unfortuntely, we've had close friends who have been broken by the job and sadly, even taken their own lives. Take care and love to you and your loved ones
When I was a london street trader in the early 90's we used to watch out for plainers/crime squad. They used to wear trainers, jeans, warrant card a little bigger and thicker than a credit card wallet in their back pocket, dark anorak or sports jacket, rucksack over1 shoulder contains their radio and evidence book. They always looked like they they were trying to blend in and observe discreetly

Walking in areas of the store that seen out of place, taking unpopular aisles, posture, behaviour etc all make us watch you more. Thats because we have cameras and your face on record which is great with our new system that actually has facial recognition and sets off a warning when you come in. We record you through our whole store, the shopping centre, car park and all until youre off our property. Then when you come next time (usually after we have a nice little file) we call the cops and let them handle it. Then youre not just looking at one offence of shoplifting that gets you a slap on the wrist, youre looking at multiple and a sentence. Trust me no criminal is even remotely as clever as they think they are 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I got set up for attempted burglary when I was 18 , they said I would get 3 years if I went not guilty, I got remanded for nothing, there’s plenty of bent cops, I got 12 months, burglars used to wear Reebok classics in jail fact in early 2000s

Yep. I was burgled by four little shit bags a few years ago. The rozzers rolled them all up and I got all my possessions back. Three of them engaged with restorative justice and so I met them, one in prison. They were all wearing "the uniform", as the social worker called it.

Just a question for anyone who may know: why do some officers wear high vis vests and some wear black vests? Are they assigned to each officer or are they just chosen? I’ve always wondered if there is a reason for each colour.
High viz is usually mandatory if you're doing any form of roads policing, or out of vehicle policing on the roads. Standard response and ARV will wear black unless dealing with a traffic job.

Modern Designer tracksuits are like the new Burberry. There was a story that back in the day when Burberry was popular, it began to lose positive image because 'chavs' started to wear them. But yeah, the reason i think criminals exist is much more complicated. There are lots of social/ economic and psychological/ biological reasons why people lose their way. But as much as its inbuilt in some people, its also as you mention, the environment you grow in and the people you surround yourself with.

There was a story that back in the day when Burberry was popular, it began to lose positive image because 'chavs' started to wear them.
But yeah, the reason i think criminals exist is much more complicated. There are lots of social/ economic and psychological/ biological reasons why people lose their way. But as much as its inbuilt in some people, its also as you mention, the environment you grow in and the people you surround yourself with.
