Thank you, it's rewarding 😊 We were happy about how the liqueur turned out (maybe less sugar next time). We also had elderberry wine in the past (store-bought) and it was nice too 😉
Dear Tommy and Peter, it is always a joy watching your feel good video's, they make me feel happy, wishing you both all the best in the world, thanks guys.
Your garden is beautiful, and what a great harvest of elderberries, pumpkins, potatoes and so much more! I’m not much for alcoholic beverages, but would at least give your elderberry liqueur a taste. I’m going to say this again, I don’t know how you guys do all you do! You have your career work, your country home with the gardens and large property to care for, your apartment in the city and you make these videos! I’m exhausted just typing all that! I enjoy your videos very much! You both are so genuine and your love of nature and solitude is something we have in common. Take care guys! Hugs!
Thank you so much, Peggy 😊 We don't know how we do it either, but we appreciate you noticing that everything takes a lot of time 😉 Yes and we love having viewers like you, fellow nature and solitude lovers 💚
Another delightful presentation Peter and Tommy! Cheers to your Elderberry Liquor🥂it’s also wonderful to see your bountiful harvest which is inspiring us to plant some raised beds in our backyard. Take care guys!
I’ll say nothing about Peter being a size queen (sizing his spuds)…ooops, I just did. lol. Another terrific video guys. Investing so much time and energy into your garden clearly pays off when you reap the harvest. The spuds and pumpkins look really delicious. Best wishes from autumnal Ireland, Stefan xx 🍁🍂🍁
Wow Tommy how amazing is Peter in the kitchen, I have elderberries growing in my garden but have never done anything with them, so thanks to you guys that will change next year when I try to make it myself, as always take care of each other
Well done boys! Enjoy your bounteous harvest & the fruit of your labour! Sending warm Thanksgiving wishes to you both and all your loved ones, from beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada!🍁🍂🍁
Speaking of bez, I've ordered bezinak from the fruit vineyard you recommended some time ago. Yumm! 🤩 Though you need to be carefull - it's twice as strong as regular grape wine 😜 Anyway, thanks for the tip!
You should open a stand outside your house and sell your produce, and maybe sell shots of elderberry liqueur. Oh, by the way - You are amazing Peter !!
The potatoes this year were much larger and looked so good. You didn’t mention, did you taste the coffee in the wine? How did you feel after that triple shot of wine?😂😂 It is hard to believe summer is about over, our leaves here in Chicago Illinois are changing fast. Peter your cooking sessions are always a joy and yes you are the Queen of the……. I’m sorry, I mean you are the KING of the kitchen 😂😂😂🤣🤣 You’re always a pleasure 🥰
Guys what wonderful first harvest! I was happy to see the beautiful pumpkins. Your Elderberry booze took me back to Grandma days. She was a Blackberry brandy. She was somewhat of a connoisseur and she was rather trashed while enjoying it. To me, all the sugar and sweetness is vomit inducing 🤢 🤮. I prefer my vodka and potato juice. And yes we do have vanilla extract. It is either without alcohol and is artificial, why even bother, or with alcohol and natural 😃 . Thank you for the video!❤❤
🇲🇽👋Dobrý den! Saludos de Mexico. We always love cooking with Peter. The liquor looks great. We don't have elderberries but bet the recipe would be great with other fruit, maybe blueberries or blackberries😋, We love you guys. 💕
That was a great tip about getting the elderberries off the stems with a fork! (Also that they are toxic unless you cook them!!!) To quote Peter: "Yay!" Several years ago I harvested lots from the bushes here in my garden in Michigan USA and it took me forever to get them off the stems. I said "never again." But maybe I will try again next year. It's just that the harvest here is small because the birds get to most of the berries before I do! 😀
Thank you, Pat! 😊 We are happy to hear we could teach you some things about how to prepare elderberries. Next year you need to be faster than to birds 😁 In our garden luckily they have a lot of choices so they left the elderberries for us 😉
guys you can find vanilla exstract in every kaufland, lidl, spar etc, it is usually dr.oetkers one in small plastic yellow package with stuff for making cakes, ice cream dressings etc. i saw it few days ago, i hate vanilla btw but i spot it coz i was looking for strawberry and chocolate ice cream dressing and some stuff for making ice cream cakes. i feel so relaxed after watching this, this is actualy first november in my life since age 9 that i am calm and relaxed... ypur videos actually help me to achieve that...
So good to hear that our videos make you calm and relaxed 😊 We know you can buy vanilla extract but it isn't traditional here, everybody uses vanilla sugar so we did too 😁
@@tommyandpeter haha same is here. we call it powder (prašak)n from cocoa to vannila, but i preffer extract, coz with powder, somehow i manage to make powder be everywhere except where it needs to be lol..
Since you have several elderberry plants, why not make sparkling wine which is also called "poor man's sparkling wine" since it was once prepared specifically to cheer up the evenings and end of meals of less wealthy families. Fresh, light, citrusy, it is perfect for hot summer days. Also to be served as an aperitif. The flowers to collect are those of Sambucus nigra, which is the first to bloom, not to be confused with Sambucus ebulus (which is toxic!). So cheers! Tommy be careful because it seems to us that the Sun King Louis XIV is trying to poison you little by little, if you notice that he often offers you elderberry, in our opinion you should be suspicious. You know what palace intrigue is like. Kind regards R and D 😁
Thank you for the tip. It sounds like it could be very nice made of elderberry flowers in spring. But making wine is not that easy, we would need to practice 😊 Haha no, I (the king) am not trying to poison Tommy, I promise 😁
Eager to know how you guys ended up after those toasts especially you Peter. Mmmm...we will never know. I see you harvesting those wonderful vegetables and fruits and it makes me want to plant but my green space is small and 10 turtles live there that eat everything. There were only 2 a few years ago and it seems they have no reproductive problems. Conlusion: I will continue going to grocery store. Kisses sweeties. Until next Thursday. Always a pleasure.
Everything was well after we drank those shots 😇 10 turtles?! Wow! Maybe you could plant something they don't like. Or would they destroy everything? 😁 Thank you, Liliana 😉
@@tommyandpeter Guys, they are a real army, they destroy eveything and live in absolute freedom. But we love and care for them anyway and since we are going through a major drought and there is not enough grass, we have to buy them vegetables all the time. @@lilianadoval8927 Well, to us it sounds like you are a very good caretaker for them 😊 We are sure they would love our harvest, but you better keep them in Argentina 😁
i am familiar with elderberry from the play & 1944 film "arsenic and old lace", the two ladies added some extra ingredients to their recipe, did you take notes Peter? possibly since later in the video i heard a "kid" crying 😏

Elderberry. It’s ubiquitous in Ireland. So I’ll enjoy watching this video later this evening. I’ll be keeping a keen ear too for any Americanisms that might require correction. 🙄🤣🇬🇧
Speaking foreign languages might seem funny but it's also difficult, you should try that sometime! It would be a good excercise for your ego, Stefanku! 😙
@@MateuszM.-sv9zj As I say, recognise some fun when it pops up in front of you. The boys know what I’m referring to, so that’s all that matters. Please don’t turn this is a pointless online debacle.
Well well, don't fight guys. Luckily all is in good fun, we have known Stefan's humor for years 😁 Thank you Mateusz, you are right that speaking foreign languages is difficult, especially when we want to explain something more complex in the videos and the right words are not coming... Then we don't think about American or British English at all, we are glad there is at least some English 😀
Sounds great 😀 Ducks could help with some problems (here usually only Indian Runner Ducks) but it's a question if they'd love our vegetables or the pests more 😀
We can't because we don't live there permanently. So the cats wouldn't even know they are ours 😀 Our neighbors have cats so they hunt voles sometimes on our property too. But it's not like they would solve the problem. Because there are hundreds of voles. Last year we caught 161 voles in our traps 😉
Your plums are amazing, Peter. You’ll recognise the double entendre for sure! 😉
I know, very amazing! 😇
