Hi Thomas, these are amazing machines, congrats on the purchase, thanks for the multimeter demo (I had the oscilloscope/multimeter combination with the 466) today I have 2x 2465's and they work absolutely gorgeous. I converted one to LED grille backlighting because I couldn't find the original bulbs. Nice day 🙂 Tom
inside this module you find a few really special relays, the contacts can not tollerate any kind of stuff on the surface, the no wash sticker is very normal on signal relay boards.
@@TeardownOZ2CPU but why would someone wash with detergents a high precision electronic component, that was probably the confusing thing to mention inside such a device. Because if it's about not washing the front panel to avoid leaking stuff in, so why did they put it inside then, hmmm
ha ha.. thanks.. i grew up in a little bit language confused family.. not a day goes by without I speak 3 languages, so that maybe also explain why i cant be perfect in any of them :-)
RIFA metallized paper as a Y type? That sounds scary. Will they never short even at test voltage, as Y capacitors should, or will they just extra violently burst in order to open the circuit quickly enough to avoid any danger? :)
Don't fleamarket instruments often come with a ratsnest of cables and probes, one third of them being one third of what should come with the instrument, one third being valuable for a completely different instrument you have, another third being broken or useless stuff that at most is good for salvaging connectors from :)
Years in which the various models were introduced according to the Tektronix catalogs: 1982: 2213, 2215, 2335, 2336, 2337 (first models) 1983: (no new models) 1984: 2235, 2236, 2445, 2465.
You might be able to take out the worst of the damage to the screen hood with a clothes iron and some grease proof paper. You do this at your own risk of course.
perfect timing Thomas..just woke up...will enjoy this with my morning coffee.cheers
Great video ❤👍

6:20 what the heck is going on with that "do not wash this module" sticker 🤔

Beautiful hardware.
Nice videos did the multimeter and the scope shared the same ground or they are isolated.
YES multimeter is fully isolated, well under 500V difference is accepted, as it say in the front plate
@@TeardownOZ2CPU u can spy the protocol between them to add a full color oled display to the multimeter.
You say oi-yo-yoi like east europeans 😂. Unusual to hear from English-speaking guy. Hello from Ukraine.

Nice!

yes sometimes i score all sorts of cables and extras together with instruments
According to the date codes on the ICs it is from 1984/85 - not 1995 ;-)
