I'm laid up in the "nut house" with two broken ankles and her voice comes as balm to my soul stuck in the mire of human brokenness. Eternal thank yous.
Good for you, Lellobeetle. something good always comes up for us when we’re laid up for some reason. I learned of this great lady during this crazy pandemic!
Yep they're still chewy here. She really gives all here, and without going over the top, something she often succumbed to. The result is riveting. The first thing I heard from that opera was the opening nymph-like sounds that our Greek friend loves so much.. but the forceful final cabaletta is what really had my jaw drop, when I heard it on an Onegin video 4-5 years later. One of her best roles and a reference in the role in general, although she only didi it once. I personally think Fleming listened a lot to that Straniera before singing her own (Fleming is one of the singers who admit to having been very influenced by MCab). And then again, credit chiefly to Bellini. This is really searing music. I also love the monumental choral incursion at the end.
Superlative , immeasurable in its sheer impassioned magnificence 💗💖💝
Crystal clear & beautiful. Montsy at her very best. Such passion.Thank you.
She was superlative in this rare Bellini ! Highest and chest notes with a high voltage quality !!!! Thanks for sharing !!!

Beautiful drawing.
Some of Caballe's greatest singing here. So impassioned, yet delicate. All the high notes in place and not coarse.
