**** More results coming soon! People have asked to test with 2x8gb and different benchmarks, so i'll aim to get that done over the weekend and upload next week. ****
More details (like the results i thought my daughter had erased!) in the reddit thread - www.reddit.com...
Response to a recent LTT video where they built an Athlon 3000g system using single channel ram and then complained about the low performance.
Does using dual channel memory make much of a difference?

Using single stick of ram on amd igpu will pretty much make it a intel igpu... smh linus.
very nich video bro...very detail of this all..and need extra time to make video like this...your are the best bro
Good of you to do this for those who have not caught up yet.
Thanks mate! This is pretty informative. With a little bit of tweaking this is a decent choice.
For the price it's an amazing piece of kit, I've seen some people overclock the GPU from the stock 1Ghz all the way to 1.6Ghz but mine topped out at 1.4Ghz, so the results could be even better.
Mine might have gone higher but the voltage/temps we're getting higher than I'm comfortable with. Once you add better cooling the "great value" sums fall over.
Great video mate!!! The only video on Athlon 3000g with deep information.
Nice video, seems like 2400-2666mhz dual channel might be the sweet spot for budget builds. I managed to pick up two sticks of 2400mhz for £30 with my 3000g, and the build cost just over £200 in total, Linus video said it would cost around $450, and also said one 8gb stick is cheaper than 2x4gb, how did he work that out? He literally just couldn't be bothered and picked up whatever was available in the stock room and shot a quick video (hence the overpriced, diamond encrusted one stick of ram)
Yeah, I was surprised how little improvement there was with the extra ram speed.
I think LTT are thinning out their solid stuff (Uber storage solutions, overclocked xyz, watercooled network switch) with a bit of filler, but they need to put out a piece every day of the week to keep things earning. If he drops the ball he's got a dozen people who can't pay their mortgage, sod working with that kind of pressure!
good job mate

Once you go black coffee, you never go back. Once you realise you've been tasting hot milky water you start to appreciate your drinks more.
Also, you can microwave your drink in the morning and it tastes exactly the same :)
Why are UK plugs the best? European plugs are also grounded, but instead, the wire pin is built into the wall. I could not find another difference which would make the UK plugs to be any better, however, I like the switch on wall outlets, they provide that extra safety.
Since you desperately asked me to subscribe, I did, now I'm desperately asking you to reply to my question xD
I heard from LowSpecGamer he was able to use 3000mhz ram stablely, while you managed to get 3200mhz to work, could you explain how this happened? I'm planning on building this system but I'm kinda scared to buy 3200mhz ram because it might not work, the official limit to ram is 2666mhz after all. Hope to hear back from you, would love to know how you got it working :D
This will be my first pc I will be building, hopefully it will happen soon
P.s. Left you a like too ❤️
Ahh hell, i never got a ping somebody had left a comment, so sorry for not getting back to you.
Ryzen has an "official" speed of 2666mhz, but it will run much higher (TRX4 stuff even has 3600mhz in its's advertising)
I didn't do anything special to run at the 3200mhz speed, it wasn't even expensive ram (yup, cheapest Amazon had to offer!) Kind of late to be of much use for your build though, sorry for the delay.
@@stevietech It's of use to me, very nice that you answered at all, thanks!
athlon 3000g 4000mhz ram still work??
reply please
I tried this 3000g with a set of 3600mhz I picked up for another build and it wouldn't boot. Think the Athlon memory controller might top out around 3200mhz-3333mhz.
His so angry lol
