    Oi oiiii! Hope you're enjoying the tips videos recently, I'm making a Karting vlog on the weekend so I can't wait to show you that and make more of them. Karting is the one thing I want to play around with more on cam, crashes, tips and all that. See you soon!

      I am an avid karter, weigh about 59kg and generally am decent. I regularly race in a karting club with members who are very good however, my main issue is lack of grip on certain indoor tracks. It is costing me about 7 tenths. I definitely have a weight advantage but im also at a disadvantage as I cant avoid sliding sometimes because the less weight means i have less grip in certain situations. Any tips?

    • @Paynos
      @Paynos  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Shakzey Generally i'm gonna say the lighter you are the more advantage you can have. Those tyres are a pain to get heat in to on rental Karts, but for the first few laps really focus on trying to scrub them up to temperature. Even a few degrees more will help you out a lot, once they're hot you can back it down a couple tenths and focus on getting the inside wheel up and being smooth.

      @@Paynos aye thats what I usually do, have a few drift laps and really get the tires hot before putting in some timed runs. I think being smooth is potentially where I am lacking.
      What did you mean by getting the wheel up? Ive heard of having one of the back wheels up in the air being a good thing but never understood it

      Hi, I’m probably not the person you expected but I can tell you, when I first started driving a manual it was sooooooo hard. It took me forever just to get moving and that was in my instructors car. Then I moved into my own car, also a manual, but it was so different I felt like I was back to stage 1 again. But slowly with time you learn what the specific car feels like and you will adapt to it. Now I’m pretty confident with my car and I love driving. Everyone starts from a different point, but you will get there eventually just stick with it. Also it does help to learn how a car works, for example, what a clutch is and what it really does because that helped me a lot. Hope this helps ☺️

      Was a definitely a challenge when I first started! I used to put a load of hours into racing simulators with the full clutch/gearbox when I was young, then spent a fair bit of time in cars on private land getting used to it. Took a while to then apply that to driving safely on the road too. Don't worry if it takes you some time, it's definitely a challenge to get right!
