My wife works at Bosch and she got me one of these for Christmas, this thing is amazing! The company is incredible, they donate a lot of money to charities around the world.
I bought this saw for framing my garage. I love this saw. Works like a champ. Well worth the money and the slide action is significantly better than the saws with bearing rails. Well worth the money.
I've got years of experience and this saw is 100% satisfaction everything works perfect it costs more but it's the best there's always a market for quality and you'll remember that long after you've forgotten the price !
did you buy one yet? you won’t regret it because it’s the best. ZERO LATERAL MOVEMENT when fully extended. it’s a master piece. i have one, and i’d like to get another just to look at.
This and the dewalt dws780 are in my opinion the two best 305mm slide compound mitre saws on the market. I would love to own this, but the few extra hundred dollars make me lean more towards the dewalt, which also has the xps system.
Saludos cordiales desde Ecuador,, excelente máquina gracias por compartir el video pregunta, de cuánto es el voltaje , si es de 120,v y como poder adquirir ??,, bendiciones
lol I liked the wobble comment. I have this exact saw and from factory it actually has wobble. It takes a lot of adjusting to remove. That said I still absolutely love this saw.
Fantastic overview, thanks for this. I was already impressed after looking at it in the store; the fine details you showed here just cemented it for me. :)
I bought one of these about a year ago, before the laser was available. I absolutely love it. Cutting with it is pure pleasure. I saw the dust hose hook up on the video, but I have been unable to find a hose fitting that mates up the the factory port. Can anyone out there lend some advice?
Right when he says "powerful 2000 watt (2.7 horsepower) motor" (6:12) a cut is made that bogs out the motor to half speed... Oh and this saw (GCM 12 GDL) sounds like the Skill worm drive saws!
+Duncan Yang I have it, and I actually noticed that same problem. Say its a powerful saw but I was having a lot of issues with it bogging. Its the blade that comes with it. Its garbage, if you get a better blade it doesn't bog anymore.
@@JimJimpmjj I use a Diablo blade. There's probably better but it's the only other blade I've tried over the one that came with it. I have three different ones from a high tooth count for fine cuts and a lower for rough cutting. All three are Diablo since they were on sale at the tool store I was at. I'm sure there's better on the market if you want to spend more. But these ones were significantly better than the original one. Once they're done maybe I'll try something nicer. Think each blade was around $35-70 Canadian so nothing pricey
Why did we get ripped off in the US on the laser? It's a shame that a 700$ saw has no laser or shadow line. It even has a spot that appears like it was made for the feature but still didn't put one on it.
"Adjustable laser" - Yes, If you send it to rep. you cant do it yourself.. Dust extraction on the saw is a nightmare!.. I find there to be quite alot of play in the arm 3-4 mm.. you can see the laser marks move on the materiel if you push the handle to the sides. Other than that the saw is a beast!
It's $549 at Lowes. You will have to spend money for a decent blade to replace what comes on the saw. The saw is made in China, so it should not cost so much. I think they are selling the gimmick (glide arm) while they have a patent.
the problem should bosch avoid is making the motor at left side that make its hard to watch the cut ....anyway bosch is my number 1 miter saw lot options easy to use
Dewalt is shit. Our dewalts lose zero all the time. Try doing a right hand 45degree bevel on 1.5 inch material. You can't cause motor location and fence location.
Make me laugh but hit your gays tool miter saw with a 2×4 and then tell me if stills working that miter is fancy shit but no strong for hard work and I really like the domino I never said they don't have good products Also I like the clams for the track saw..
I don't own one but it appears, from what I'm reading, to be an overpriced, heavy, less than precision piece of crapola. I'm going to try a Hitachi C10FCE2 15-Amp 10-inch Single Bevel Compound Miter Saw for about a 1/4 of the price. C'mon Bosch, get with it.
unless youre a professional carpenter you dont need a saw like this bosch. but it can do ten times more than a hitachi 10 inch single bevel. if you try to do 6 inch baseboard with that 10 inch saw, youll be wishing you had a bigger saw
This saw does NOT live up to the HYPE, IMHO! There are serious flaws, IMHO. The blade clamp washers are painted on the mating faces with the saw blade that resulted in 40 thou run out on my saw. Blade side deflection was excessive too. Painted surfaces on mating parts for what should be metal to metal contact is an engineering NO_NO! Bosch should know better! The side clamp rod clashes with the arm lock when set @ 45 mitre cutting in some instances. Only one clamp unit supplied. The groove cutting function cannot be relied upon for accurate cut depths over a slot; just a slight difference in pressure on the handle results in varying cut depths on my saw. When cutting well seasoned beech 120mm x 40mm with the supplied new blade stalled the motor. The glide arm is smooth but there is side movement & is prone to slight side pressure on the handle so an accurate cut is not achievable in all cases. The saw kicks up sharply on stop and can take you by surprise on 1st use. The clamp supplied tends to push wood away from the fence so make sure you hold wood up to the fence when clamping. The trust bearings at the back of saw are NOT protected/seal or covered and get contaminated with saw dust. NOT ideal! The dust extraction is not ideal even when connected up to Bosch M class vac. as in this case. The belt tension was found to be too tight when delivered, The result is that the soft start was not working as it should. There should be 5mm deflection on the belt with moderate pressure on the longest run. You need to check your saw's belt tension if you want the saw motor and blade bearings to last, IMHO. Total lack of speed control for the blade, so multi-materials cannot be cut safely. even cheaper units have a motor speed control so multi-material blades can be used to cut different materials safely. Bosch power tools UK have been notified but choose to ignore my findings. That is my experience to date. I am totally disappointed. JR M.Sc, B.Sc.(Mech Eng), C.B.A.
Had none of the problems you list (apart from finding the clamp to be garbage). Then, we did take the trouble, as with all our machines, to do a proper set up before use. How in the holy fuck did you stall it? User error there I'm afraid - sorry. This is a 2011/12 machine. At that time, only Festool in this class had variable speed. Others are starting, only now to bring it in. Bosch will too I'm sure. The blade flanges on our saw aren't painted btw. Odd that yours are. If you think you've bought a dud, that's a shame. The saw isn't cheap. That said, as a fellow Mech Eng trust me, listing your credentials at the end of an informal TH-cam post comes across as a little self congratulatory and entitled in this context. It also does you a disservice when you claim the clamp "clashes with the arm lock when set @ 45 mitre cutting". Are you telling me an engineer couldn't figure out clamping the workpiece from the other side? Come on friend!
I'll wave the B.S. flag on this. I was just checking one out at the store the other day, and it's rock solid. Huge improvement from the Ryobi I now regret buying.
Absolute bullshit. I've dreamt about this saw for years and always played with them at the hardware stores I visit. There's nowhere near that much play if any. Definitely NOT a "waist" of money.

Got this saw now for 4 years, very pleased about it !
Only negative thing is the fact that the lazer died 2 times in those 4 years.

Why did they remove the laser and carry handle from this saw? I just got one and would especially love to have that dual laser.
Can u tell Bosch to make the cordless version of this miter saw will buy it for sure
This saw costs $1000 in Australia... but the only comparable tool is the $1700 Festool Kapex...
Guess I'm getting this?

Hello Alan, can i use the Bosch Sliding Mitre saw GCM 12 GDL Professional also for cutting Aluminum ?
Tank you for your answer, best regards.
+DANILO GEROSA, No problem, I bought the Multi Material blade and cut quite alot of alu.

You are not supposed to push it side to side when cutting, look at how much play a handsaw has
Just pull and push towards you .that’s the correct way

How much does it cost in US dollars or Euro
i got mine yesterday. it comes with the laser. as far as i know, only european version comes with a laser
I want this bosch saw how much price in Pakistan I like it gcm12

When are you coming out with a laser for this product.
it has a laser built in!
I'm going to buy it in the home Depot is one special for $ 599 with a free diablo blade

Bought mine at Home Depot, Princeton, NJ .. It is lacking twin laser lines and in 2015 it is very different ... I am a little disappointed ...
+Richard Butterfoss This is the European model. The North American model doesn't have the laser.
I installed an aftermarket laser line .. plan to make improvements to the saw ... it will probably appear in future videos ..

nice arm technology but the dust extraction looks very poor
Ignacy Kundzicz while I do agree with you i can't say I can really complain I mean it isn't a direct link to the vacuum or dust bag
No saw is perfect man,get over it.
how much does it cost?
The most similar one on Amazon is $616.
