    Some more great drone shots Matt. When you fly higher you really get an appreciation for all the contour banks, and how they work. Thanks again, good luck with it all.

    As a (re)tired farmer I really appreciate the time and effort you and the whole Jackson team put into your videos. As the saying goes, a picture tells a thousand words and your drone and slow motion shots provide us with an understanding of the beauty and vastness of Australia and the dedication, hard work and determination of farmers to overcome numerous challenges to provide us all with food and fibre. Keep up the great work.

    Another good one Matt and some stunning drone footage! I wanted to plant some old varieties of tall wheat- I have uses for the straw. After a lot of emails, paperwork and jumping through hoops I obtained some Maris Widgeon seed- England, 1964- and some Square Heads Master- England, 1860's from a seeds gene bank in Victoria- literally one teaspoon of each variety. Planted May 1st- I'll give you a yell when it's ready for harvesting :) Jay.

      G’day Al, I thought you might like to know there is a town just over the state border in Queensland called Texas not too far from where I think the Jacksons are in northern NSW. There’s a Wikipedia article on the town with a bit of history of how it got the name if you are interested. We don’t normally name towns after US states but this one is the exception so thought I would mention it.

    • @albutterfield5965
      @albutterfield5965 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@robman2095 The origin of the town's name is generally regarded as a reference to a territorial dispute. The land in the area was first settled by the McDougall brothers, who found squatters there on returning from the goldfields. Once their legal right to the land was recognised, they named their property in honour of the dispute between the United States and Mexico over territory in Texas.

    550 horses…. Please… your sowing into butter….
    Come out the flinders, where the earth is concrete, the dust cloud is so thick it blocks the sun, and the bonnet. You won’t need a lunch box, the dust will fill your belly😂😂😂😂 the tractors on 105% every pass going up the hills… and you feel like a bull rider at the end of the day.

    Matt just wondering why do u spray with the grass hopper before planting as it looks like minimal grass,instead of the sprayer that just sprays when it sees a weed hence saving a lot of chemicals and cost

    • @thejacksonbrothers
      @thejacksonbrothers  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Good question! The weedit camera spray doesn’t pick up the real little weeds so the you end up with weeds growing up with the crop, a blanket spray gets all the little ones so it’s a fresh start for the crop to out compete the weeds👍

      12m suits well and in reality we can get everything planted on time as it is, an 18m would work too but then we wouldn’t have a backup tractor that could pull it😁

    Do you find any difference when you plant into new contoured land?
    Loss of crop, increased crop/ yield?

    • @thejacksonbrothers
      @thejacksonbrothers  หลายเดือนก่อน

      The main purpose of contours is to stop erosion and to minimise topsoil loss so it’s hard to compare but it’s better yields as opposed to having no topsoil😂

    • @edwardmolloy7548
      @edwardmolloy7548 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @thejacksonbrothers I was aware of that from previous videos.
      Wasn't sure if it improved the top soil by bringing up nutrients or clay, causing a down turn in the crop.
      We don't farm with contours here in NZ.
      It's been a long time since I've been on the farm, but I still understand enough.
