This great lady has such a unique voice, she's underated, I'm very upset about that. I hear the new voices and all the accolades they receive, it burns me up as they don't, can't, and will never touch Gwen. Life is not fair,, I'm mad Gwen is not up there with Maria and wearing the crown she deserves. I hope she reads this, I want her to know how her fans feel about her.
Back then there was not the Internet, and not as many music awards shows. The band did the movie soundtrack to "Car Wash. She was famous all over the world, and I have a live performance in London on CD. You can bet, fellow members in the music industry knew how talented she was back then, and still is. I agree she was under rated. If social media was big back then, it would have helped her and the band, as it would have for other bands too.

In this video recording a guy is saying, "wow'. I am saying it too. I saw the band in 1978 in San Bernadino and also the band GQ. I didn't realize she was a world class singer. I just loved the music so much I had to see them live, and for 12.50 a ticket you couldn't go wrong. I can't believe she still has her voice and can belt out the song better than most singers today. OMG
I LL have to say she killed this song, another favorite songs of mine ain't nothing like that Old School Music I will never stop playing, I also have had the Privilege and Pleasure of seeing them in concert a few times. Bad to the Bone!
I saw Rose Royce the first time they toured the UK back in 78. They appeared at the Apollo in Manchester, and when they started this song, Gwen hit a slightly sketchy note. She immediately stopped the band and restarted the song, which she performed note perfect the second time, a true professional.
