Sadly, he wouldn't be the titular character anymore. If anything, he'd serve Barbosa's role in pirates 3-5.

I so wish this were real. Disney should re-hire Depp for one LAST movie and finish the series off with a BANG. If they aren’t going to hire Depp back then the only way they will get fans through the cinema door is to have someone play a MUCH younger jack sparrow as a kid and do a prequel. But OMG come on Disney- PLEASE give the fans what they want. Depp is Sparrow.
I’ve written an entire screenplay about a Young Sparrow (Pirates of the Caribbean: Song of the Sea), how he became a pirate, how he met Barbossa, how he escaped Beckett the first time and made his original deal with Jones... I just have no idea how to get it in front of Disney execs.

I can't be 100% about the rest of the cast in POTC but one thing I know for a fact and feel it in my gut is that Johnny Depo will always be the best, if not, the perfect actor to play as Captain Jack Sparrow. I was hoping to watch the whole franchise with only him as the character.
I refuse to watch a movie in this series without Johnny Depp. If Johnny goes down the whole franchise comes down along with him , absolutely no one can become Jack other than Johnny Depp.
