The new ZenBook Pro Duo calls the new lifted hinge "ergolift"
I remembered that my Vaio Z2 had this and I was impressed by it back in 2011

A Viao Z with an integrated ATi Radeon GPU will be cool too, even if is a bit bigger...

I like the new z series
All carbon fiber body so its strong and durable and so it can be thinner
QUAD core IVY bridge i7 STANDARD VOLTAGE DAMN only sony offers an ultrabook with that much processing power not any other company it also has USB 3.0 2x USB 2.0 VGA out HDMI out and sd/memory stick card reader and an optional blu ray burner power media dock and a max of I think 12gb ram and 2x 256gb ssds (512 gb total) so really the z is AMAZING and is the best notebook PERIOD

@dbarrera767Here are some of the differences between the VAIO S and the VAIO Z:
The Z is smaller and lighter with a screen size of 13.1 and weight of 2.5lbs, but both have the same 2.70 GHz, Dual CPU, and Core i7. The Z is a little better on battery. Also the Z comes with the Power Media Dock which the other VAIOs do not.
    Hope that helps!

For trolls saying the z is overpriced let's see first off its carbon fiber which isn't cheap. Then ssds are also expensive and the minimum is 128gb (2x 64gb ssds). Then ivy bridge cpus are STANDARD in the price and this is an ultrabook .66 inches thick but has a Standard Voltage cpu 2.* GHZ not 1.*GHZ cough mac air cough. It has an expensive 13.1" 1080p IPS screen STANDARD in price. It also has usb 3 usb 2 vga hdmi card reader etc and then there's the power media dock

The difference between the Vaio S and Vaio is, how much do you want to expend. Simple as pie.

I've got a vaio z1 but broken the keyboard/touchpad/power button connecter port thingy on the motherboard. is there another way to turn on the computer without fixing the damaged motherboard connecter?

@dbarrera767 It's practically the same hardware.Main difference is that the Vaio S has a built in disk drive and hybrid graphics. In order to be more portable, the Vaio Z offers the disk drive and graphics via an external hub.It really depends on what you want to carry and your style tastes.Do you plan on carrying an external DVD drive? If so, you may be better off with the Vaio S.Do you hardly ever use a disk while on the go, and can you work without integrated graphics? If so, the Z is great.
