Thx for your sharing. My point was to clean the fans cause they became pretty noisy. With a tiny brush plus a vaccum cleaner and a Iittle pipe added, I removed the dust. Then the temperature of the processor dropped from 56°C to 43°C and the vaio svz1311c5e is now silent as a new one !
Yep, after I've made the video, I've entirely disassembled the laptop. I wanted to see just like you if it was possible to upgrade it. And it's likely not possible for most of people as it soldered unfortunately... But I guess it's still possible, but very complicated and dangerous for the laptop.
Salut :) the best to get more ram is to buy 8gb because, ram module are soldered :( I've just discovered this after I've made the video. Concerning the SSD, it's not soldered, but you won't find an other SSD that will fit inside the Z, except those from sony. Furthermore the SATA connector looks to be proprietary. CPU is soldered too :/
Hey, I have followed your instructions and I am attempting to fix my screen. I am befuddled by the LDVS (video) cable that plugs into the logic board. How does that cable come out?
I know this is an old video but my laptop is running really hot. I want to add new thermal paste to it. Can you show us a video of how to replace the thermal paste?
i have a question for you can you put a non ssd hdd on vaio z2 or svz? for example, one 64/128gb ssd and one 1tb non ssd hdd possible? howabout no ssd at all and only a regular non ssd laptap hdd?
I just bought a 2nd hand vaio Z2 and am considering if I should upgrade the processor... after breaking it apart, is there anything in the design that prevents such a project?

Thanks to you and your video, I successfully upgraded my Z2 with an Intel 7260AC WLAN adapter. Thumbs up :)
