I own this model. A 2014 Civic LX actually. One thing I like about Honda engines are that they are very efficient. On the highway, I can go past the EPA estimated 36 mpg and get at least 40 mpg. In the city, I get about 25-28 mpg. This is really good. On the highway, the car revs in 5th gear at 3,000 rpm at 70 mph and 80 at 3,500 rpm. Another thing I noticed about this car is that you have to rev the crap out of it to get it to go anywhere. But I love hearing engines rev, so I don't mind. I shift at about 3,500-4,000 rpm. And this is my first manual transmission car. One flaw about this car is that the car doesn't shift into gear properly sometimes but that is because of the shift cables, which isn't a major problem. I really suggest purchasing this car. It is much more fun driving with a stick.

Was surprised it doesn't have a 6-speed manual...

your idea for this video was spot on, exactly what im looking for, footage and comments on the 5 speed civic. But, the footage was bad. I was not able to see the distance of gears.
Don't sweat the grind either, no big deal, people!

@@shoponline831 No. All the models come in standard. I have the 2018 LX Coupe model and mine is standard. I've seen the EX's come in standard as well. It's rare I see standard Civic's though unless they're coupe models or SI's.

@@shoponline831 How you like it? That’s what I was gonna get at first but decided to go with the LX since it was right in my city and I could get it the same week I saw it. I love it. Really powerful.

I just bought one... I really like it... I came from a 1992 acura integra GS lol since I have a baby now, I thought I should get a four door... I did honestly want an SI but nobody was donating to me at the time and I didn't want a CVT so my LX does just fine...

You can't even drive a Honda you just grind the gears I would never buy a car from you guys if you like this guy drive the car is it is I guess he's like what 22 years old just learn how to drive clutch if I was you I would never buy a car from this dealership just for the small fact you got a kid that drives the car and grinding gears and he was even going fast

This is what I'm looking for! I'm probably going to be on the market sometime this month. I learned how to use a 5-speed on a 1988 Honda Accord Coupe. Love that car!

russphilly Not a soul out there who drives a manual transmission who hasn't ground a gear or two. Heck, my first manual I ground gears all the way home from the dealership that first day. That was 26 years ago and it's still running fine.

Yeah sorry bud but you don’t drive manual if you’ve never had a gear grind. These Honda’s will grind from time to time even with the most precise operation... sometimes synchros just don’t ‘agree’... there was a study done that it would take about 2 hours of straight constant grinding to do any sort of damage. That’s a hell of a lot of grinding

Everyone who's driven a standard has grinned gears before. Never did it in my car I have now personally but I did it tons of times in my dad and stepmom's old car which is the car I learned how to drive standard on. Car worked just fine when they sold it. I drove it the day they sold it actually and the gears we're just fine. No big deal doing it from time to time.
