There have been many great changes to the facility over the past 40 years I have been going and this has to be one of the most unnoticed yet greatest improvments to the Brickyard. The raceday audio is fantastic.

Totally agree, this is the only track I've been to with understandable audio on race day an no echo that plagues every other track I go to :-/

I'm very happy you let us see this. As a age-old guy who started his IT life programing using punch cards, the lingering old geek in me has often wanted to know about this part of the infastructure. And it's even far more fascinating as I ever could ever imagine. I am amazed, and I might not have thought much about it at my first Indy 500 in 1970, I'll be even more appreciative come next race. #isItMayYet.

You guys should make a compilation of Tom Carnegie’s best calls and play it before the start of day 1 of qualifying every year. Get the crowd hyped

We production nuts, would love some numbers. Full range Boxes, subs…..etc. I for one would love a tour.

Sat in row one of turn one, the race day PA sounded as good as it could possibly sound.
I know how old those QSC cabinets are ... they sounded perfect, seriously, no complaints.
There must be a lot of driver replacement because it simply sounded superior to any previous year, louder, cleaner, great coverage off axis.
From patriotic music, to edm driver intros, to Dave Callabro, it was excitingly loud, great articulation with zero harshness or edge.
    That's hard to do.
    Bravo.
Stellar day this year, my 53rd Indy 500. Only complaint; TV missed the F-16s full afterburner return while Jim Cornelisn held that last note.
    TV, missed it.
    Live ... it was spectacular.
It took a peak, pre-race moment ... and elevated it into the stratosphere!

Sound was basically nonexistent in turn two infield and halfway down back straight we had no idea what was going on. A nice video board along that section would be great also.

I remember going on a tour many years ago - maybe the 1980s? and the tour guide said that the core to the original 1950 ish system was a naval surplus system from a battleship (maybe one of the cancelled Kentucky-class ships?). Is that true? Do you have any info on that?

Sat in the infield this year in the backstretch. Volume was barely halfway. Disappointing.
