  • I went to shoot transporting rolling stocks and freight train at Shin-Akitsu station on the Musashino-Line.
I could shoot popular freight trains that pass through Shin-Akitsu station.
Additionally, I can see locomotives of 5 types there.
    Locomotive
    EH500 Kintaro, EH200 Blue thunder, EF210 Momotaro, EF65, EF66

    初めてコメントします。この日の早朝4072レの撮影で新秋津に居ました。カラシことEF65 2127牽引とあってかなり盛況でしたね。

      撮りたかったんですよ。まさかカラシだとは思いもよりませんでした。羨ましいです。

Interesting in that the Siebu Railway cars are electrically compatible with the JR,and they could have run as an extra,to Niiza terminal on their own! In this country,Amtrak had somewhat of the same problem,as some engine movements, had to be done on the freight railroads,as a DIT,(dead in tow) operation 😳! Took a while to get things sorted out! Thank you for an interesting side excursion into the intricacies of Japanese transport! BTW,the railfans grapevine in Japan, has to be one of the world's best! No odd ball movement goes un-noticed,and its rapidly covered! Amazing!! Thank you 😇 😊!! Thank you 😇 😊 !!

Seibu and JR East are electrically compatible (1.5KV DC) but the Seibu trains are not compatible with JR's signal system, ATS-P. As such they need to be ferried by a JR locomotive between Seibu's main network and the Tamagawa line that is not directly connected to any other Seibu line.

@@keitaniguchi5745 Thank you for the otherwise unsolvable dilemma! On the surface,it would appear,as a cut and dry operation, but there are always hitches that muddy the waters! BTW,in New York, the same type of operations prevail,as the Long Island Railroad, and the NYCTA have the same type of third rail, and voltage, but the signaling systems are vastly different! The subway cars actually ran on the Long Island for speed testing, and quite a sight to see, especially if you were a casual observer! Again, thank you for the explanation, and have a good week! Thank you 😇 😊!

@@roberthuron9160 It would be super interesting to see an MTA subway train doing a speed test somewhere in Nassau or Suffolk!!

@@keitaniguchi5745 Hey,fellow NYC type, seems we have a background! I grew up on the Oyster Bay branch, and did a fair amount of railfanning, photography, and even getting published! When the subway cars were tested, they didn't get out of Queens,as that was/is TA territory! That was done during the 1980's,if memory serves, and there are photos published somewhere on the web[I hope],and if memory serves again, those cars were R46's,and that is subject to revision! Anyway, sir, you definitely know the area, and have seen,as many changes,as I have! The triple tracking through Mineola,is only the tip of the iceberg! Thank you 😇 😊!!

Thank you for your comment. I'm glad to hear that. Those vehicle can't run JR tracks because of different companies.
So, Seibu Railway Co., Ltd has to request transportation to JR-Freight.
