this video is what tipped the scales for me this video helped me decide to go catback striaghts but in stead 5"x18" tips. I have this setup for 5 months or more I did it myself ussing a premade tail pipe kit i found online. the only issue i have is that i have to really step on it to get the exhaust to get really loud i will probally gut my cats here in the near future.

So...I had the same done to my old work truck. The sound is great! A little loud when on it hard, but its perfect at idle and cruising speed. Who needs mufflers!?

I really wish there was an exhaust setup that gives the idle sound of a straightpipe like this but the highway sound of glasspacks. Don’t get me wrong straightpipes are awesome but if you’re on the road for more than 20 mins it can get annoying

Zach 69 stock manifolds and cats, then 2.5" pipe run from the cars back to 4-1/2" x18" tips.True duals. No mufflers or glass packs. That's it!

Joxxph exhaust ran around $250 for just a cat back system, tips, hardware, etc. I did the install & welding myself.
if you can find one get it. most have been beat to pure shit and are in horrendous condition. shame too because these are some beautiful rigs man

I have the 1988 Chevy Cheyenne k1500. It's the first year of this body style. I love my truck but it doesn't sound like yours. It has a 350 V8 in it. Are you true Duals or dual from the one cat back? I want mine to sound like yours

Hay Luke, Ik you have sold the truck but I’m having a hard time figuring out what set up you did, you said 2.5 from cats to the 4-1/5x18 to true duels. Could you elaboratea little more on the 4-1/5x18 to true duels. I’m just confused on if it was a kit or not
One these trucks, they are "true dual" from the manifolds to the cats, meaning the pipes don't merge into 1 pipe until right before the muffler. I bought a dual exhaust kit off eBay that bolts on, and it's 2 individual pipes from the cats all the way back to the tips. The pipes never merge or cross. No mufflers. Hope this helps.

They are stainless tips I bought off eBay. Make sure you buy stainless, otherwise they will rust quickly if you drive in salt.

I have glasspacks on right now. I am going to turn them backwards to make them louder. Do you think they will sound similar to your truck? That would be great if it did.

greg matthews good eye! ;) the old exhaust was getting rusty and getting leaks, so I swapped in new pipes and got wider tips, however they're 18" long not 24" like the old ones
I'm trying to piece my exhaust together right now and I wasn't sure if 18s would look long enough but I really like them. I might go with the 15° cut. Thanks for the reply!

@@CJBMAGGOT94 I've got 2.5" duals after the cats on mine, but with Dynomax Bullets and an x-pipe. I had an H-pipe but it sounded like an open header boat at idle so tried an x and it smoothed out. It's much deeper than this and doesn't pop and fart like this.
