I read this book when I was in grade school. It's a beautiful story and I always thought this would be a great Disney movie. Kids will enjoy Nyasha and Manyara just as they do Queen Elsa and Anna.
Maynara would be a BAD QUEEN. She's SELFISH, NARCISSISTIC, bad tempered, let a little boy go HUNGRY(Look at the little boy's pleading frown and Maynara just left this poor boy and let go hungry when she could have at least split her lunch with him. She was RUDE to a wise old woman. Maynara would have punished people for annoying her or if they could do nothing for her. She would let people starve.

My black teacher used to share this book with us every week in the early 90s. I've been trying to find it for almost 25 years.
