This is absolutely epic. Loving the paint job your doing, the paint shrinkage is really weird though, I've never come across that but it must be because your mixing brands, maybe oil based mixing water based? Those greeblies looks like their going to be time consuming to paint if you have already glued them down. That Han Solo is hilarious (worth it for the comic value alone) his face looks like a Neanderthal. Keep up the great work, thanks for sharing

Lancelot Tobias It is weird isn't it. They are all acrylic paints but the brand mixing seems to be causing the problem. I'm looking forward to painting the hull, should be pretty simple. Thanks for watching mate!

For those metal parts you could try Self Etching Primer. Automotive type. It will go well and dry fast. You shouldn't loose any detail. But, once you use it your paints will have NO problem adhering to the surface.

Great video. Love the look you got going in the cockpit. Yours is one of the better looking ones on TH-cam right now. I just got my first box last week and am wondering how I'm going to approach painting this thing. I'm new to all of this, so any tips on how you painted this stuff would be welcomed.

The work you are putting in is impressive! I wish I had an airbrush, so much better than by hand. I'm surprised by how big this is turning out to be.

***** An airbrush is great, I got a real cheap one with a compressor so I could learn how to care for it before I upgrade. This will be massive, and I have no where to put it!

What color paint did you use for the pilot chairs?

For $1,500 dollars it should be assembles and detailed! The detailing of that model based on
ILM photographs is a major headache. The "Master Replicas" 1:1 of the 32" ILM replica sold for $2,000 so this can only be worth about $500.00 at most!

There are different lengths of brass screws. Are you sure you used the right ones for the metal spine connectors?

Reegan Samlal It is the Build The Millennium Falcon part works series from Deagostini. It's been out a while in the UK and just new in the US. Not sure on the rest of the world.

I think you mixed up the screws mate. That's why they split the walls and didn't hold the metal ribs!

Boy, oh boy. I hate to say this, but this whole thing looks so underwhelming. I'm still looking forward to seeing it completed though. As for that statue of Han, well ... I think you already said it best. ;-)

I hope this isnt taken the wrong way but based on your comments, you're not happy at all with your $1,500 USD / £ 950 model. Most of what I've heard you say is that the model is awful, the parts dont fit and that you're rebuilding pieces from scratch. I'm assuming that this _isnt_ a good model and that people should stay away?
