  • This video covers the assembly and painting of the cockpit nosecone and cockpit tube. There are also a few additional modifications I made. So my last video called "final mods", was not really final. Ooops. You know how it goes. It's never ending really.
    For those of you in countries where this video cannot be viewed, you can download my videos from the right column of my Falcon Model Blog.
    Please check out my blog for much more building details and photos. falconmodelbuild.blogspot.com

    I started my Falcon when they relaunched under the Fanhome label last year...and now I am terrified to do mine with having seen how NOT "accurate and ready to go" the kit actually is. Because I want to to this kit justice....but the last time I built a model and put serious work into was almost 30 years ago.
    I have sooooooooooo much to learn and try to do now. I'd almost pay you to build mine for me. lol

    Hi Chris! Phenomenal build loving every episode and cant wait for the next, and may sadly be the last? I'm following you from the UK and have started my own Falcon build, I too am using Paragrafix parts as well as Shapeways. A little incite, I can watch all videos on here...... through my laptop or desktop, iPad however will not for the reasons you have stated below. Personally I love the music!! but that is the secret, through a computer not tablet or smart phone. Greetings from Southampton, UK.

    I love to watch how other modelers do things and sometimes bring into their work things that I might not have thought of or do things differently than the way I would have, etcetera. You're a details guy, and I like that, and you really have your craft down. I had a neck injury a decade ago and it takes me 4 - 8 times as long to make a model now as I used to because of hand tremors and stamina, Etc, but I still get enjoyment out of watching someone else do it.
    one thing I was wondering was if you have ever thought of making a life-size version. I think if we got enough quality modelers together to work on one, especially people who know their way around Lumber and other larger mediums, I think we could accomplish it. I would really love to see that happen. Same with the X-Wing, the Enterprise, the Serenity, the Normandy from Mass Effect, and some others. I think that would be just an amazing Park to build. Anybody else out there with that kind of Interest?

    a real cool "Blast shot" is powder from a fire cracker. Open it up and place it where/how you want it, place a lighter or match and POOF real quick you get a lil dent (melt) and some side burning. Did it to a ATST and looked pretty damn on point

    I realize what you're doing, but? Keep in mind this is about 1:43, close to 1:48 scale. I build a lot of airplanes 1:48.....pre-shading panel lines can be overdone. Yes, it looks good, when subtle. When I think of my models, I also consider distance and perspective to acheive a realistic appearance.

    I'm about to start my own DeAgo Falcon build, but I'm a complete novice when it comes to lighting - I wouldn't ever expect you to break out all the details of your lighting and power solutions to a rando on TH-cam, but could you tell us at least what your power supply solution was and how much voltage it runs?
    Did you somehow add on to the stock power/light board that came with the kit (I saw from your first video that you're at least using the stock backlight for the cockpit back wall) or did you replace Deago's power supply altogether with something more powerful?

    • @modelsbychris
      @modelsbychris  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm using a 9v 2amp supply. I'm using the stock board, and my own boards as well. All powering off of the 1 supply. I tested, and I was drawing about 1.2 amps with all of my lighting.
