I think this creature is amazing because it fits so well. Beautiful model and animations. It’s a horrifying yet elegant and majestic creature. And it’s believable. Ive been enjoying the cockatrice mod a lot on scorched earth because of how well done it fits in the game. And now I’m really looking forward to diving into aberration and messing around with this fella
Yeees, finally, a great old one for the aberrant ark! This is the eldritch abomination we needed. Honestly, no notes, just praise.the flying is slow and comes at the cost of filling a resource bar and losing out on big damaging attacks. It also loses damage if it picks something up unlike a karkinos, so it isn’t totally one-upping the crab. The design is gorgeous and unique, the taming method is very manageable (btw you didn’t muck it up, you just gave us a realistic taming experience), and the payoff is great without being game breaking. 10/10, multiple rounds of applause for all those involved. Now, Becca, you could have named this after any number of Lovecraftian horrors, but you would have named it Hastur, Shathak, and Gol-Goroth if that was your idea. Soooo, you going to tell us or can we just assume you were looking at the mouth when you had that idea😏😉😂
Its very impressive mod creature! Also, this thing reminds me of cetus from 'Sinbad the legend of seven seas' movie!(that kraken-like monster at the begining)
I love this thing. It's a shame that it is so reliant on Aberration mechanics. But this is a fantastic design. Great work Myrmecoleon, and thanks for a great showing Becca!
since ive never played abb or extintction this is a MUST creature to add it just looks and sounds so amazing and i do like the taming process being linear and NOT buggy and just it looks so majestic antother great spotlight video
Seekers where the kind of creatures that felt incomplete or rather unsatisfying to see it as a standalone creature anyway so im quite happy to more or less have a seeker king/queen. That could at least explain the similarities between the two species. And i dig the cthulu dragon design as well.
Tbh I never liked true flying in aberration because I felt like there’s no way you can make a fly look like it belongs in aberration but now that I saw this creature i love it
Well, I'm definitely using this for my Ark D&D campaign. This thing is a really cool creature and frankly, I don't even think it's that OP when compared to other Aberration creatures of its level. It may even be underpowered, despite all its features (though there may be something I'm missing from its kit). In some fairness, Ab's strongest tames are generally pretty crazy.

it's an amazing creature, the design is a work of art, I mentioned to the creator yesterday on discord that the only bug I found was in the light bar, it didn't display correctly when absorbing the light of wild creatures, everything else is fine, personally I would add some kind of debuff like armor/attack/movement reduction and a little damage to the light projectile, so that it would work in pve too. 👍
When aberration first came out on ASE and they had the torn up dossiers posted this is originally what I though the seeker was going to be, minus the flying. I was so happy we were getting a big, Eldritch glider. Suffice to say my expectations were ruined when the seekers was officially revealed. Anyway, this looks very cool and well designed but I cannot not break my cardinal rule of no flyers on aberration (hold up, wati,g the rest to see how it flys) If this thing appeared on Extinction or the other maps with Aberration zones then absolutely would tame one.
This is hella cool. Are makes pyromanes and that vulture horse, modern make a fantastical creature that actually fits into the game play and lore wise.

I feel like this is a bit much tho, staying in the red zone running arond on the ground without a light pet guarantees nameless and potenially reaper kings, turning on a light pet agros the draco, i see no medium ground without the lightbug which isnt tamable normally
aha I wish! I have an RTX 4080 Super, Ryzen 9 5800 X and 64GB RAM. We've mainly built my PC to handle high polycount models and renders, but it works great for ARK too. Although even I was surprised at how smoothly Aberration was running for this video, I usually do get some lag there

I think flyers being forbidden on Aberration is mostly to prevent people from getting an easy tame which can then be used to get Rockdrake eggs. Since the Draco requires a lot of resources to tame, requires exploration of end game areas and isn't able to be used to quickly escape after collecting Rockdrake eggs makes the flying component fine.

I'm not a fan of modded fantasy creatures but I have to admit that this creature goes very well with the map and has very good game play mechanics.
