I so proud you mentioned my ancestor Thomas Dickson..I am visiting in June and my hair is going to stand on end when I visit these sites of my forefathers...Thank you again for your great work. Reese Thomas Dickson....
Another great video Martin! Watch out for that ice! I really, really enjoyed the story of the castle and the area in general. Well done! Thanks for doing what you’re doing and I look forward to the next one. 🍻👏
Amazing eh Peter. Tiny little building aswell. It's been in continuous operation as a post office for 309 years. Guinness book of records say it the oldest in the world. Thanks again Peter 👍
Excellent story , Martin appreciate the cold weather ride to bring us local history, brings back memories of bike being only mode of transport Serving my time apprentice mechanic eaglesham motors having to ride from rutherglen hail rain sleet or snow all good fun and it didn't cost me a thought, it was a case of no choice.so keep up the good work, keep safe very interesting. Steve
Thanks again Steve. I really don't mind the ice beats the rain sometimes lol. A few days ago tho I practically needed a crow bar to wedge me off the bike.. No fun sometimes eh 👍
@@WeeJaunt I know what you mean remember back in the day praying for a traffic light or something to hold you for a few minutes so that you could wrap hands around the down pipes,no heated grips then even if there was wouldn't have had the money to buy them lol
Hi I stay at sanquhar .just a wee note me and my mate went to Switzerland on tour for 10days absolutely brill .got back next tour Scottish highlands then my mate hit a deer just outside inverness wrote gs1200 off .he then gets a Himalayan he loves it.back riding again.may think of trading gs1200 in for Himalayan .love to see ice riding video.William
Why would you expect BMW man to be looking around him, your supposed to read his mind🤗, nice roads, the enfield is perfect for them, especially in the current weather 👍
I know you use lots of salt on your roads, it's bad for your bike. Here in New Zealand we don't use salt on our roads, we use Calcium Magnesium Acetate (CMA) instead. When I was motorcycling in the UK back in the '50s before I emigrated to NZ, I was used to riding on rutted ice, there is a knack to it, isn't there?
Aye Salt ain't good. Gotta keep it out of the electrics especially. Hosing down the bike every other day just to watch it freeze to the frame lol. Aye gotta keep your arms loose and your wits about you on the ice. Thanks again Keith 👍
